Several weeks ago, as we sat in London freezing our tails off, Deban and I decided to warm our spirits by listening to the ten finalists competing in Norway’s Melodi Grand Prix 2017. And what did we encounter? Tattooed naughty girls, women in the woods, ageing rockers and electro upstarts ready to slay. We turned on our camera and filmed our reaction. That’s what Fridays are for.
Unfortunately, the record labels in Norway weren’t as keen as we were to share the music in this video. After difficulties with our first YouTube upload, we decided to remove all the music and then re-upload it music free. If you want to follow along with the songs as we react, simply visit Spotify and pull up the Melodi Grand Prix 2017 playlist.
We were loving In Fusion. Unfortunately our readers aren’t, as you can see in our ongoing MGP 2017 poll.
But one act we do all agree on is Ulrikke, who is currently winning our poll by a huge margin. At the moment she has 27% of all votes — that’s twice as many as current runner-up Elin & The Woods. Can she ride the wave of hype to victory on Saturday?

Which songs made you get up and shout? Do you think that our readers have it right at the moment? And who do you plan to vote for this weekend, assuming the live performances live up to the studio versions? Let us know in the comments box below.
btw get ready for montenegro and macedonia 🙂
WHERE IS LITHUANIA VIDEO
Some news sites are mentioning that Russia plans on withdrawing. 🙁
@Oliver
Is there a love-hate relationship between Sweden and Finland? While they do give them televote points the Finns are not really favoured by the swedes!! See Krista for example.
The only song I like is Places and I’ve only heard the studio version. Not sure how it will sound live or how it will resonate.
Great, current song though, boarders on indie pop and much closer to what I listen to outside of ESC
Actually, I like most of the songs. Ella, Jenny Augusta, Ammunition, Kristian, Elin & The Woods – the all have pretty good songs. It will be interesting seeing who will get most people behind them.
Just on a random note- there’s this ad that’s been playing in Australia at the moment about gambling and Isaiah is an actor in it- not sure if he’s just playing a character or a cameo! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9DnC2DF1SSM
I’m so happy that Norway took Finland to the international jury. It looks like that Sweden will never let us participate in the voting of MF.
Ulrikke’s song may be the fan choice, but it won’t be the choice of the Norwegian televoters. They will go for Elin & The Woods or Ammunition.
I rather like In Fusion, myself, also Ulrikke. I’m just not getting into Ammunition!
Also, #DebanIsNotImpressed 😀
I’m all for Ella and Ulrike
Respect to William Lee Adams for calling out the Norwegian record labels. They are being counter-productive to promoting their acts in Europe. You tell them William.
MGP had better song in 2015,2014,2013,2012
My prediction of 4 song in super final
1.Ammunition
2.Jowst
3.Rune Rudberg Band ( country sound work in MGP 2012)
4.Ella ( isntead of her some chance fro Urlike or Kristian).
And I think fight for victory in super final between Amunitition and Jows
My favorite was Ella and In Fusion
I love Jenny Augusta.
Elin & The Woods ftw. Jenny, Amina, and Ella are good too, the others I’m not really a fan of.
I really like You & I, but know it won’t win :/
Ulrikke would be my second choice, but it is not great.
Deban is not impressed in that photo 😀
