One placed fourth at Eurovision 2017. The other one’s hoping to replicate her success this year in Lisbon. And now Blanche and Sennek have become covergirls for NINA magazine.
In the interview, Sennek says Blanche inspired her to enter Eurovision:
“I found ‘City Lights’ such a beautiful song. It was so special. So different. So I reasoned: if a song like that is possible at Eurovision, I would also like to try it. So it is mainly thanks to you that I am going.”
The “A Matter Of Time” singer also revealed she’s put her day job on hold:
“My entire life is currently dominated by the Eurovision Song Contest. I am solely concerned with that. I’ve take seven weeks of unpaid leave from IKEA to reach my goal. I want to go for it. I want to make the Belgians proud. Everything has to give way for that.”
Besides Blanche, Eurovision 2016 contestant Laura Tesoro has also been in touch, with advice for Eurovision:
“From Laura Tesoro I learned that it is very busy during the rehearsals, and that you have to make sure you close yourself a bit, so that you are in your own bubble. She said booking a hotel room with a bath so that you can make time every day to relax was one of the best things she did.”
Sennek also used the interview to reveal Veronique Branquinho will be her dress designer.
“Veronigue is a rock n’ roll woman and she has Portuguese roots, which makes our collaboration extra fun!” The designer – who studied at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp – will accompany the Belgian delegation to Lisbon.
In the interview, Blanche is full of praise for Sennek.
“It’s already certain she’ll stand out at Eurovision. I love the atmosphere of her music video. I think “A Matter Of Time” is really, really good.”
Belgium’s Eurovision 2018 star is on stage tonight in Amsterdam as a part of Eurovision In Concert.
