Romania’s The Humans walked with mannequins. Russia’s Julia Samoylova adorned the summit of a mountain. And Norway’s Alexander Rybak taught us how to write a song. On the third day of Eurovision 2018 rehearsals, the first nine acts of the second semi-final took to the stage for their first rehearsals.
But which of those nine countries had your favourite rehearsal: Norway, Romania, Serbia, San Marino, Denmark, Russia, Moldova, The Netherlands or Australia>? You can let us know your thoughts in our poll!
You can watch all of our reviews of today’s rehearsals in the playlist below. Then vote in our poll. You can vote for as many countries as you like, but you can only vote one time, so make it count. Be sure to click the box next to each act you want to support before pressing submit.

Eurovison 2018 rehearsals my top 9 (SF2) #1 Australia (Jessica Mauboy – #WeGotLove) >> One of the two rehearsals that left an impression on me. #2 Denmark (Rasmussen – Higher Ground) >> Just look at my comment on Australia’s rehearsals #3 Moldova (DoReDos – My Lucky Day) >> Am I seeing double or is it just me? Anyway, with a performance like that, I doubt they repeat the success of Sunstroke Project. #4 Norway (Alexander Rybak – That’s How You Write A Song) >> Ladies and Gents, that how a comback goes wrong. #5 Serbia (Sanja Ilic and Balkanika –… Read more »
Norway and Australia are beyond cringe
With all what i see until now, my top 2 dont change, France and Spain
It’s that time of the year people. Am I crazy, or does anyone else also wake up in the morning and think “only 7 more days til Eurovision…” then you brush your teeth listening to Eurovision jams. Then you go to work and in the lunch room everyone is talking about boring stuff and you some how work “oh hey Eurovision is coming up” into the convo and see how it goes down with your half-dead co workers when really you could talk about it all day but no one cares or knows about it so you go on Wiwibloggs… Read more »
By the way, Jessica Mauboy’s performance reminds me of Sofi Marinova with the difference that Sofi had a good song sabotaged by the juries.
Moldova was just amazing. I knew they’d deliver!
Ranking of the April 1st rehearsals from Peru: 1. Moldova: DoReDos definitely shined today. Their creative performance really uplifted the song and the major change from the NF awful staging was obviously welcomed very positively. It seems Moldova has done it again: uplift a very average song into an excellent fun party tune. Right now, Moldova has pretty good chances of making it to the final. 2. Norway: I hate the song with all my passion but let’s be objective, Rybak did a pretty good rehearsal with a very nice choreography and it definitely suits the opening number of the… Read more »
Come on guys…Romania was okay but clearly DoReDos deserve to win this poll … 🙂
The snippets of Jess’ act on her Instagram page is actually really good.
None of these songs are in my top 10
This is the weaker of the two semis and it’s easy to see why…many of them were just okay, as expected. However, Russia, San Marino and Australia were weak to disappointing. Surprisingly good effort from Moldova!
Of course it were the snow discriminators.
Fluffy snow lives also matter. Imma gon’ make a complaint.
Jess Mauboy posted a longer clip of her performance on her Insta. Better than I was expecting! Can’t wait for Sweden tomorrow, wheee!
I’ve seen the video she posted and I agree that it looks way better. I liked the way the performance starts, but I wonder if it doesn’t get repetitive afer a while. Sweden made a similar concept work for the 3 whole minutes, let’s wait to see if Australia can do the same without being harmed by comparisons.
please dear god dont let rybak win
Are you the same litlle charming troll?
EASILY moldova, probably the most creative staging ideas out of all the countries this year (although mepersonally i have a feeling edoardo grassi is gonna pay for something brilliant for france as well)
Norway is so winning ESC 2018 just like Armenia was so winning ESC 2017.
1.Norway is overrated but it will qualify
2.Romania and Moldova were the surprise of the day and we will see both of them in the final
3.Serbia, San Marino and Russia were weak and I don’t think will qualify
4.Denmark had the same stage as in the national selection, probably will qualify
5.I expected more from Australia, it was one of the biggest dissapointment of today, but still it should qualify without any problems
6.Netherlands has a very bad performance, it will struggle to qualify
Agree 100% we saw the same things it reassures me… Don’t get all that Norway hype at all :/
Moldova and Romania had the best performance of the day especially Moldova
Hans Pannecoucke needs to be FIRED. He’s managed to run both Belgium and the Netherlands with staging, with those two songs were both strong contenders beforehand
Today was Moldova’s lucky day. Norway, Denmark and Romania also played the right cards. Australia and Serbia have some hard work to do, but there’s lot of space to grow.
On the other hand, the Netherlands gave terrible staging to my favorite song of this semi (Mr. Pannecoucke, you’re almost single-handed eliminating two songs from my personal top 5, don’t be like that) . Russia and San Marino made Iceland’s entry look much better.
Fire Hans!
So in this this half I had 3 acts that I really disliked and now I can say that Norway delivered whatever they think they should deliver, but Australia and the Netherlands were pretty horrible, I was amazed! On the other side, as I expected, Romania and Moldova put their minds to the job and nailed the staging as they always do! It’s just my opinion, you can have other.
Norway. It can potentially win. Rybak’s charm and that violin is just wow! PS: why not invite him to the Wiwijam party?
Very disappointed. Especially Australia. ? Liked Denmark tho! Great vocals, great stage. But Sweden will be interesting tomorrow. We’ll see if it works. They have 5 gospel singers as background singers since you’re not allowed to have anything recorded. Gospel! The new lighttube stage will also be interesting to see if it works as it did in Melfest.
Can we have maybe like 8 acts from this semi and 12 from the other one? Very anticlimactic day compared to yesterday and the day before.
On the contrary, I thought this was the best day so far.
The Humans show us on stage DIVERSITY
Completely agree with you, Lourdes. Netherlands was supposed to be the best of the day for me, but that staging ruined it. I don’t really like the Romanian song, but it is bearable, while the rest are not.
I will not vote in this poll because I believe that no one deserves to win it
Me either. The answer is none.
I’m very disappointed with the performances of today. If they were all in the 1st semifinal, they would struggle. Moldova delivered by far the best performance. Together with Norway, they are now qualifiers. The two main acts in this half, Australia and the Netherlands, failed to deliver good performances. Australia is a sure qualifier as well, the juries won’t blank her. Waylon is now a borderline act. Denmark, Serbia and Romania are all in the same league, fighting for the remaining spots in the final. Russia and San Marino are unfortunately out. In general… the semi is yours, Sweden. Qualifiers:… Read more »
Such a weak semifinal. It’s a shame 9 acts from SF1 will be cut out.
I wish we could move one country from SF1 to SF2. Argument could be made for Czechia to move to SF2 to give Mikolas 2 extra days to recover his back!
It will be very interesting if Norway wins, because it will be the first song since Running Scared that wins without the support of ESC fandom.
True that. But let’s hope that doesn’t happen. Jamala didn’t have that much support of the fandom either.
And that song was the biggest shame ever to win the contest. Back then people thaught it was the beginning of the end of the contest. If Norway wins, same question will be asked.
Moldova was easily the star of the show. This year it seems all the underdogs are rising on top. Also, is 129p a record for a press poll?
Could someone maybe send a link where I can find those press polls? Havent seen them yet this year.
Danmark, ni får min röst, sorry Norge.
Lycka till från Sverige <3
