Eurovision is a tough contest for artists to handle. The long press junkets, pre-parties and rehearsals can take a toll on the most experienced of singers. For a lucky nine acts this year, they have, at least, one shoulder to lean on and take the pressure off. As they say — many hands make light work.
This year’s groups hail from the Czech Republic, Finland, Germany, Iceland, Latvia, Montenegro, Norway, Poland and Slovenia. From pop-rock, to ballads, to 2000s flashbacks — this year’s groups have a lot a lot of bases covered. Some of them, like Germany’s S!sters, are more or less newly formed. Finland’s Darude feat. Sebastian Rejman is a reunion of sorts. While Slovenia’s Zala Kralj & Gašper Šantl is an example of when music interacts with love.
But which group of 2019 is your favourite? You can listen to the nine acts below and then vote in our poll. You can vote for as many contestants as you like, but you can only vote once — so make it count. This poll closes just ahead of the first rehearsals in May. Start voting now!

Owh dear, that photo mix-up (D’Sound for KeiiNO) is hilarious. I honestly didn’t spot it until someone told me just now! 😀
Someone was probably listening to this while making the photo: https://youtu.be/20OG8Aoejjo
Hehe

Day 42: My obsession with Hatari keeps growing. Know all of their songs by heart. On the verge of learning Icelandic now…
Keiino and Hatari, definitely!
Tulia, Lake Malawi, and Zala/Gasper are also really good.
Hatariii for winner
Keiino for me, with Zala and Gasper as Runner Up. And someone in wiwiblogs need to go to specsavers.
Hatari, Lake malawi, keiino and the Slovenian couple also Darude and Sebastian
Hatari, Keiino and Tulia
I voted for Montenegro. Because they must not finish last! And because I’m silly with polls.
Your argument is convincing, voted for them too.
Norway and Iceland my top 4 and 6
It seems like many people confuse D’Sound with Keiino, but hey no offence! Both acts were among my favourites in MGP 2019!
You never disappoint, great taste.
Iceland and Slovenia, my 3rd and 4th place.
Whoever made this article have no clue who KEIINO is. What a shame 🙁
In fairness, they both placed Alexandra (KEiiNO) and Mirjam (D’Sound) in the middle in their respective photoshoots and they both have blonde hair. People are bound to be confused. Hehe
Also, Conan Osiris and João are the duo!
Yes, but they mean musical duos/groups not performers in general.
Believe, One no pass without another…without João, has not Conan
the polish skinny legends
No real rock song this year, like Turkey in 2010 and 2011, Georgia 2011 and Finland 2006,07,08,14,15.
But maybe Hatari.
Best Duo: Finland
Best group: Iceland
Best groups ever: Iceland 2011 and Portugal 2011. And Sunstroke Projekt, or Softengine. ManGa and Lordi also
I thought Lake Malawi is a solo artist, but no, it is a group.
Ofc, its group, gosh!!! They have 4 members.
Finland – my 3rd
Czech Rep. – my 12th
Germany – my 14th
Latvia – my 24th
Slovenia – my 32nd
Poland – my 34th
Norway – my 37th
Montenegro – my 39th
Hatari – my 41st
Finland at 3rd place after hearing the live version too? Tastes do vary greatly
It’s his (and many others) opinion, so respect that. Finland might suprise us in ESC when it is on TV. Can go to final.
Lol, I’ll state my review about Finland: dynamic melody, actual message, dynamic staging. It’s that special package I really adore. And yes, finally no man who says “hey, look, I am so strong” (ugh bah), but a charming guy who says “okay, I am vulnerable and I show emotions”. This is what I want!
Hey friend, since NO ONE seems to like Finland at all, I decided to support you. Finland is a 7/10 for me and I really enjoy it. You’re not alone. 🙂
Hey, thanks girl 🙂 You know I am never afraid of being the “underdog” or swimming against the trend 😀 My opinion and taste comes from the heart <3
I’m with Weißbrot and ESCFan2009 here. Finland isn’t actually that bad of a song imo. Yeah, the song live is less than great but the actual song is pretty good. I give it around a 6.5 or a 7 out of 10.
Almost all my favourites are bands.
1. KEiiNO (my winners)
2. Carousel (my 4th)
3. Lake Malawi (my 6th)
4. Tulia (my 9th)
5. S!sters (top 15)
6. Zala Kralj & Gasper Santl (top 20)
There’s a pic of D’Sound in there.. where’s KEiiNO?
Why is Mr Unicorn in the pic?
“And I can’t get you out of my dreams…Now I know you’re the dangerous kind. And your smile is tattooed on my mind…”
Surprised that you got D’Sound on the article’s main headline photo and not KEiiNO, Sebastian.
Hehehe
Are they called D’sound now? Oh god
The band’s been around for almost 20 years now and that has always been their name. 🙂
I thought it was D’moll.
D’Moll = Montenegro 2019
D’Sound = Norway MGP 2019
Hatari by a mile.
