Play with glass and you’ll get cut. But at Armenia’s first rehearsal at Eurovision 2019 Srbuk threw caution to the wind performing “Walking Out”.

The performance starts with the camera behind Srbuk, slowly panning forward overhead, before slicing up the scene with quick camera cuts.

She’s dressed in black, with the stage set in red and black, and at times it felt almost too dark. Later runs added pyro which mitigate that feeling.

The avant garde camera shots were promising and if Armenia doubles down on those they may have a more competitive product on their hands.

We did not have a vocal feed in the first run, but subsequently Srbuk sounded strong. The third run in particular she hit the high note and the effects were fabulous. At the climax she kneels on the LED floor and smashes it with a glass effect.

Tighter camera angles and Armenia will be all set for a show-stopping show-opener.

I think Armenia is still hiding a shocking surprise, as far as the staging goes…I wouldn’t be surprised if dancers pop out on the next rehersal. Who knows??

What happened here? After having so much choreography in her music video, she’s on stage alone?

It looks so empty! That girl is in DESPERATE need of some dancers accompanying her.

I think this is a very “ busy “ song and it has just way too much going on. I wouldn’t want her to have dancers on the stage with all the lights and craziness!! Dancers would not even be visible with this type of staging.

Armenian stagings have been all about how things look on TV, so before checking out (uh uh) the camerawork and the shattering glass effects, it’s hard to build an opinion. I was expecting Srbuk to have company on the stage though. It will be difficult to match the energy of the video being by herself there.

I like her voice. The song is a little messy, and the chareography is bland, but I would be disappointed to see this fail the semi final. Good luck Srbuk! (I always check before I type her name lol)

I think both of the SF openers this year are in potential Aisel-zone. There’s nothing wrong with their Cyprus or Armenia in terms of performance…it’s just that maybe neither are strong enough to be remembered after 17 other songs.

The music video was great. I don’t know why they killed that concept. With a tight choreography, this could have been top 5. Now, it looks like a borderline qualifier…

Strong semi. Because they sing first, Armenia have some chance to finish 11 in semi like Serbia 2017, Azerbaijan 2018 (both open semi and finished on 11 place).Armenia song this year, dont have vibe for big massive support ,like thei entries in 2016,2017.

Thigh high boots are the thing this year? Well, nobody wears them good, except Maruv! Staging rather forgettable.

Its just a snippet, but it looks like it is far from memorable, and being first to perform needs isnt an advantage in that case (especially when Ireland is having a way more memorable staging)

I expected some dancers. Too tricky…

Quite good but I expected more staging. And more people!

She’s got a great voice and I wish her the best, but I fear this song will be forgotten when all 18 acts have been on stage. It’s the kind of song that we’ve heard a lot of times the last 10 years, and it doesn’t stand out enough in my opinion.
