Tonight seventeen acts take to the stage in the jury rehearsal of Semi-Final 1 of Eurovision 2019.

And on the eve of battle Greece‘s Katerine Duska remains the favourite in the Eurovision 2019 Semi-Final 1 odds to win.*

She’s closely followed by Australia‘s Kate Miller-Heidke. A few days ago Australia was in fourth place, with odds as high as 6/1. Miller-Heidke’s chances of winning have been slashed. In some cases they’ve been halved.

Iceland‘s Hatari round out the top three. The kinky band from Iceland are some distance behind Australia. Their odds are as high as 7/1.

One casualty of second rehearsals is Cyprus‘ Tamta. Technical problems during rehearsals appear to have harmed bookmaker confidence. She was second in the odds on May 9, but now she finds herself in fourth. Her odds have drifted significantly: Bet 365 now lists her chances at 15/2.

Another wounded party is Slovenia. They may remain in the top five, but their odds are now much longer. A few days ago their worst odds were 17/1 at 888 Sport. Unibet now has them at 25/1.

Eurovision 2019 Semi-Final 1 Odds to Win

Czech Republic, Serbia, Hungary, Portugal and Estonia round out the top five to win the semi-final.

Odds to qualify are a slightly different picture.

Greece leads, followed by Cyprus, and then Australia.

Iceland and Hungary round out the top five.

Then Serbia, Czech Republic, Beligum, Slovenia and Estonia are slated to qualify.

Tonight’s jury final should provide some clarity on who will qualify and see market movement.

Eyes will be laser-focused on the artists’ vocals. Any note out of place, or performance mishap, and we can expect them to move out of contention to win or qualify.

What do you make of the odds? Is Greece on course to win? Or can Australia surprise? Let us know in the comments below!

Happy for the Australian fans… but sorry! Australia isn’t my favourite this year!

My Prediction: 1. Greece (I hope so, too!) 2. Australia 3. Cyprus 4. Iceland 5. Slovenia 6. Serbia 7. Hungary 8. Portugal 9. Czechia 10. Belgium, Poland, or San Marino. I’m leaning more towards the former two qualifying at this point, but I guess we can dream, lol. … A few notes: – 2nd through 4th are a free-for-all, tbh. I’m pretty confident Australia will be in the Top 3, and I think the other two will be pretty close together. It’ll probably depend on how well the average viewer takes Iceland’s performance. – I could see either Georgia or… Read more »

Finland is so underrated. They have one of the catchiest songs this year. And they have a concept on stage.

But lack of words. The bloody song has Look Away all over it from start to finish.

3.Iceland (televoting winner)
4.Slovenia ( second in jury)
5.Serbia
6.Hungary
7.Czech Republic
8.Cyprus
9.Belgium ( it should be a NQ but it’s kinda weak semi)
10.I think that this spot is between Poland and Portugal both of them a qualifier for me

Look, Greece is not one of my personal favourites, but if there ever was a dark horse it would be Greece. She will easily win this semi (followed by Australia, Cyprus, Iceland, Hungary and Serbia) and is a big contendor for top 5 with at least the juries in the GF.

Do you remember 2004? There weren´t even 10 songs to choose from those.

Australia will probably win the semi final. The staging is brilliant. Greece is quite overrated. It will qualify but I don’t think it tops the leader board.

Sorry honey, but Greece isn’t overrated and still deserves the first place. I like Australia too, but I predict it as a Runner-Up as of right now

Katherina struggled in all the rehersals. She has a brilliant voice but when it comes to live performance she sounds like someone grasping for an air.

I do think that Greece will win its semifinal…it is a great staging, really different from all the others…great modernsong without being fast food music and most of all a unique voice! The song is the one that appeals to both the audience and the juries so think that that it will be voted by both of them quite well! Thus it is a real cotender for the win of the semifinal and it deserves it!

Not really on thread here but something that has interested me for a few years….has Eurovision always started in the time slot it currently sits in or for example in 1979 did Eurovision start at 8pm Israel time? When did it change to the current time slot?

I think it always started at 9CET, some countries in the East wanted it to change to 8CET but that didn’t happen

SF2 is much more interesting tho, but I will watch SF1 ofcourse! My prediction:
1. Greece (I think it will win the jury vote)
2. Iceland
3. Belgium (I just love the song, but they need a good performance to ensure a ticket to the grand final)
4. Australia
5. Portugal (Unique, that’s good!)
6. Hungary
7. Cyprus (I was really excited about this, but they lost ground for me after the rehearsals)
8. Serbia
9 Czech Republic
10. Slovenia

Yeah well Rasmus, Greece will win SF1 no matter what. Just accept it, it got the staging realness, and the vocal range. Watch out for tomorrow

Any country from the current top 6 betting odds of SF2 would have easily won SF1.
How unbalanced are the SFs this year.

its a draw before it starts. it cant be more fair

Whisker

It is a fair system, but there is still something off about it IMO. The draw is supposed to avoid having in the semis countries voting for each other historically, yet it happens.

I am surprised that in the final Greece is not in the top10 in the betting odds but idk they are changing every day this year

This could very well be true. I say, Slovenia will be in and either Cyprus, Serbia, Hungary or Belgium won’t make it instead.
