Monika Marija If I Leave Lithuania Eurovizijos atranka 2020 Eurovsiion

Lithuania’s newly revamped Eurovizijos atranka 2020 begins its six-week run in a couple of hours. But before that, let’s see which Heat One acts you’re most excited for. And then, take a listen to some of the entries which have been released in recent days.

Monika Marija is your favourite in Heat One of Lithuania’s Eurovizijos atranka 2020

At the start of the week, we asked you to vote for the Eurovizijos atranka 2020 act which you were most excited for. Online polls aren’t an exact science at the best of times, and in this instance they’re particularly tricky since not all of the entries have been released. Therefore, many readers will have made their decisions based on an artist’s past pedigree.

Nonetheless, the results are still fun to look at. And Monika Marija is a clear favourite. The Voice winner returns for her fourth attempt in three years (she submitted two songs in 2019). The “If I Leave” songstress picked up 258 votes.

In second place is Gabrielius Vagelis with 161 votes. None of the remaining acts polled over 100.

Only six of the 12-strong field will qualify for the semi-finals.

Poll Results: Which Eurovizijos Atranka 2020 act are you most excited for? (Heat One)

  1. Monika Marija “If I Leave” 18.93% (258 votes)
  2. Gabrielius Vagelis “Tave čia randu” 11.81% (161 votes)
  3. Petunija “Show Ya” 1.83% (25 votes)
  4. Andy Vaic “Why Why Why” 1.1% (15 votes)
  5. Glossarium “Game Over” 0.81% (11 votes)
  6. Aika “Paradas” 0.59% (8 votes)
  7. Aistay “Dangus man tu” 0.51% (7 votes)
  8. Donata Virbilaitė “Made of Wax” 0.51% (7 votes)
  9. Lukas Norkūnas “Atsiprašyk” 0.51% (7 votes)
  10. Justinas Lapatinskas “Highway Story” 0.44% (6 votes)
  11. Baltos Varnos “Namų dvasia” 0.37% (5 votes)
  12. Meandi “DRIP” 0.29% (4 votes)

Total Votes: 1,363

Note, this poll included all 36 Eurovizijos atranka 2020 acts. For the purposes of this post, we have extracted all of the semi one entries. The figures for percentages and total votes relate to the complete poll.

Can people stop hating on those who support Monika? Everybody has different taste in music not everybody thinks that her song is boring and bland. And I agree maybe it is not the best song ever but I respect those who actually like her music. With music there isn’t one right or wrong choice and it is so funny to see so many people take the fact that she won this poll so personally. Chill we do not even know if she will qualify today. But attacking those who like her song is not only showing intolerance of others liking… Read more »

Well, of course…the boring Monika Marija, with an even boring song, is voted the most in this poll, just because she participated last year, too. Otherwise, she would be last in this poll… Her song is annoying

Honestly seeing all the ESC stans with an obvious bias towards Monika Marija makes me sad. Even though we know less than half of the songs in Eurovizijos Atranka, already there are much better songs this year with artists no worse than her, but y’all aren’t giving them a chance because “oMg MoNiKa!!!!”. It’s sad.

I’m totally feeling this old school Pharrell Williams and The Neptunes vive. Won’t mind if he gets through. 🙂

I feel like people didn’t even bother to listen to other songs, only vote for monika because she was good last year. There are definitely better songs than hers this year…

I really love Monika’s song this year as well (although the competition is higher now and already Gabrielius and Aistay are giving her a run for her money), but I agree what you are saying. People voting / rating songs without hearing them is a problem IMHO. Reaction videos while talking over songs, “my top 25″s ten minutes after the songs are out, last year’s favorites usually leading the polls, ect. I don’t think that kind of approach can result in a fully serious result.

I love her song too! It sounds like a song from Lady Gaga’s Joanne
