When big news breaks you just have to act…and react. So this week we’ll be uploading two podcasts rather than just one. The reason? Iceland has finally confirmed that Daði Freyr and Gagnamagnið will return to Eurovision 2021. Rather than cramming this into our already recorded and almost ready-to-go weekly episode, we figured we’d just do an extra one.
In our special podcast, we hear from William and Deban in London, but also get the thoughts of five of our writers, who live across the UK, Australia, the United States and, of course, Iceland.
We were particularly keen to hear the thoughts of Icelander Steinunn, who says that, while she loves the country’s annual national selection Söngvakeppnin, she felt it was more important for Monsieur Freyr and his bandmates to finally get their chance at ESC.
You can listen to the latest episode below. You can also subscribe on Spotify and Apple Music. We’ll be posting our normal podcast with a round-up of this week’s other Eurovision news soon.
