His family know him as Tramar Lacel Dillard. But to his millions of fans he is music icon Flo Rida. And now, with the hype and buzz building around San Marino’s Eurovision 2021 entry, fans are hoping Monsieur Rida will catch at ride to Rotterdam to tear up the stage with Senhit.
Big question marks still hang over whether the “Club Can’t Handle Me” hitmaker will be able to travel to the contest to appear in the “Adrenalina” stage show. After all, we are in a global pandemic. But in a recent interview with the BBC, Flo made it clear that he wants to be there.
“It would be an honour to perform with her,” he said. “I would love to go. You know there’s nothing like being embraced for your passion. I love performing.”
Senhit made it clear he is trying to make it work. “He tried to fix [the situation],” she said. “He tried to do his best, and then, yeah, we try and we are in contact almost every day with the team and try to understand if it’s possible or not, but we push so hard to have Flo Rida on stage.”
So did Flo Rida know about Eurovision before coming into contact with the Italian star?
“I had no idea about it,” he said. “I definitely didn’t. Her people reached out to my people. Right now I’m working on my album and everything and I was in album mode and I was like, ‘I have some free time.’ So I got a chance to listen to the record and I was like, ‘Woah, it’s very high energy like what I love.'”
The rapper also admitted that he doesn’t know too much about the Most Serene Republic, which has a population of around 34,000 and is known among Eurofans for stars like Valentina Monetta.
“There’s a lot that I need to know but I know one thing — I have a lot of fans in San Marino and I definitely appreciate the love,” adding, “I’m definitely loving the fans.”

Flo Rida is not going to Rotterdam. I heard that a backing vocalist could do the rap part. Honestly, though, I think they should scrap it and revamp Adrenalina. I feel bad for Senhit since without Flo Rida she won’t get the same hype from the fandom. Let’s be honest, besides the good song, the greatest part of the international attention came because of the rapper.
Well, kudos for him for admitting that he does not know much (or anything) about Eurovision or San Marino. Sometimes there are some random artists who enter national selections etc. and pretend to be overly excited and to be fascinated with the country’s culture, when you can clearly see that they don’t care about it. I would love to see him on stage, just because I believe it would make the performance complete and Senhit deserves it. If he doesn’t go, who will sing his part? Will they choose another artist? Will Senhit sing it (would it even be possible)?
Even having 1 fan in San Marino means most of the country loves you.
Personally I don’t see him doing rehearsals (2 till 3 times) then the dress rehearsal… performing in a semi final… qualifying.. doing 2/3 rehearsals again to then perform on the finale… Would have so much respect if he would do that.

Flo Rida may know it’s a risky move but performing in front of millions of people is worth it. Kudos to him for being a star who is willing to take the challenge that is Eurovision.

He’s 100% going. It’s obvious. He’s not passing up the opportunity to perform in front of 300 million people and try revive his career. He would move to San Marino for a month if that was required.

The part I actually don’t like in Adrenalina is the Flo Rida part lol. I think the song would have been equally good with just Senhit. To me, it just sounds like he is trying to promote his career and doesn’t really care about ESC. I understand why San Marino wanted him in, but this doesn’t feel like Eurovision to me, sorry. But we want to see big stars there. If you want no name singers, try some local festivals.
I already do that, thank you very much. So you prefer global super stars who don’t know anything about the ESC (or maybe even the different cultures in some cases, let alone that Europe is not a country) above genuine and talented artists from the participating countries who really want to be there? I don’t get it. The ESC has successfully made it all these years without needing big stars for recognition, so why would we want to change that? That’s just my opinion.

I’ve tried a lot of “local festivals” when I was younger. There were always some relatively “big stars” like Finntroll, Pan Sonic, Gogol Bordello, Enter Shikari, Swans, Thomas Anders, Bring Me The Horizon, Einstürzende Neibauten, Depeche Mode, Tokio Hotel, Unkle, Boris, Wolves In The Throne Room, Kraftwerk, KK Null, NIN, and others. They are not “no name singer” by any mean, although they were not headliners of the show.
I think its a very bland and forgettable song without Flo Rida.

Flo Rida at eurovision is something I’d never thought I’d hear, but Senhit is so exciting and it’s a great collab hope he gets there

it’s refreshing to see a big-name celebrity actually appreciate Eurovision and not completely write it off (looking at you, Zara Larsson). I’d love for him to perform, but hasn’t Senhit recorded her back-up performance already? I’m interested to see how they would reconcile that with Flo Rida in Rotterdam.
The back up performance is only for emergencies and it’s looking very likely Senhit will go, so the back up will most likely not be needed in any case

Being fond of ESC and willing to participate in it are very different things. Maybe she realizes that she is a complete trash and won’t to do well in the contest, and that’s why she doesn’t want to compete against such powerhouses like San Marino and Moldova.
Maybe in 20 years when she is bored she said. Yes she loves to watch it, but there is a reason you haven’t heard from Flo Rida for a decade and now he’s perhaps competing in ESC. Bonnie Tyler was at her peak in the 80:s and came to ESC in 2013. Let’s say Zara Larsson has just left her peak. Then it’s reasonable to think it will take another 20 years before this to occur.
