Tusse vocal operation Sweden Eurovision 2021

The voice is a singer’s most important tool. And so it’s only to be expected that the stars of Eurovision 2021 will be taking special care of theirs ahead of next months contest. However, Sweden’s Tusse has to give extra attention to the welfare of his vocals. The “Voices” singer has told fans that he’s had a persistent issue with his voice and he’ll need to have a minor operation to sort things out.

Sweden’s Tusse to have minor operation ahead of Eurovision 2021 in Rotterdam

The Melodifestivalen 2021 champ laid out the facts on Instagram. Writing in Swedish, he says: “I have had a bit of a problem with my voice for a while now and have been to a fantastic doctor to check this out”. Off the back of this checkup, Tusse will have to undergo “a minor operation where the doctor will look a little closer at what this may be due to”.

But fans shouldn’t worry too much. Tusse assures his followers that after some respite at home, he should be fighting fit for his journey to Rotterdam in May. “After that I am ordered to rest for a week and then go home to Dalarna and rest”, he explains. “Guess I will have time for a lot of school work!” He concludes that there is “nothing to worry about but feel I need you with me in this. Now I hope for the best and that I can be alert and rested to Rotterdam!”

His record label also released a statement to the Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet: “Tusse is fine, but he lost his voice after Melodifestivalen and has not felt completely recovered since. On the advice of his doctor, an examination has been done, all to make sure that everything is as it should be. The doctors have prescribed rest so Tusse will not give any interviews next week.”

We’re sending all our best to Tusse and wish him a speedy recovery.

If you watched interviews with him after the final he really had no voice left. Sounding like the godfather or something. I guess he still has issues with his voice since. I didn’t hear anything about this until his statement about the operation. Hope he’ll be ok.

I hope for him that the surgery will go well, but if it turns out that it is an autotune vocal cords surgery then I will take this whole comment back.

One of the most overrated songs this year, unfortunately the juries will again unfairly and unproportionally upvote Swedish generic bland Pop in English in favor of more original or interesting entries.

It’s clearly an issue that so many Swedes are part of the production as the jury vote is skewed in favor of Sweden each year. I mean almost top. 3 every year is ridiculous.

But you like other countries songs who are written and composed by Swedes.

Oh! I hope everything works out! And it would be pretty awkward to sing about Voices when you don’t have voice yourself.. Just had to say it..
