Australia Decides running order: G-Nation to open, Jude York to close

After a one year break, Australia’s national final makes its return to TV this week. And ahead of Saturday’s live show, the Eurovision — Australia Decides running order is now confirmed. The 11 Aussie contenders for Turin now know when they will sing.

Kicking off the show is girlband G-Nat!on with their empowerment anthem “Bite Me”. Meanwhile, the honour of closing the show goes to pop newcomer Jude York, who will sing his dreamscape lullaby track “I Won’t Need to Dream”.

Fan favourite Sheldon Riley will perform his track “Not The Same” sixth, the midway slot.

Australia Decides 2022 running order: G-Nation to open, Jude York to close

  1. G-Nat!on “Bite Me”
  2. Erica Padilla “To The Bottom”
  3. Seann Miley Moore “My Body”
  4. Charley “I Suck At Being Lonely”
  5. Andrew Lambrou “Electrify”
  6. Sheldon Riley “Not The Same”
  7. Paulini “We Are One”
  8. Jaguar Jonze “Little Fires”
  9. Isaiah Firebrace and Evie Irie “When I’m With You”
  10. Voyager “Dreamer”
  11. Jude York “I Won’t Need To Dream”

Many people ask the same question every year. Does running order matter? f you believe in patterns, yes it does. Former Australia Decides champions Kate Miller-Heidke (2019) and Montaigne (2020) both performed ninth, the penultimate slot in their respective finals. This year, that pre-finale act slot goes to Voyager with “Dreamer”.

Australia Decides 2020 champion Montaigne will make a special appearance at the final. Additionally, “Spirit In The Sky” hitmakers, Norway’s KEiiNO, are set to perform during the interval.

Eurovision — Australia Decides 2022 airs on Saturday 26 February at 10:30 CET (19:30 AEST) on SBS. Australian Eurovision commentators Joel Creasey and Myf Warhurst will host the show for the third time.

My favorites for the win are Charley and Voyager and I’d be happy if either went to Turin 😀

Solo Sheldon

I don’t understand the overwhelming odds for Sheldon. There are several very strong entries here and I have a feeling Sheldon would be competing for the same votes going to Poland and Italy.

Charley is my personal favourite.

I would prefer Jude York or Charley to Sheldon Riley.

“I don’t know where to go, and I got nowhere to be…” but in the PalaOlimpico in Torino! Rooting for Voyager 3000 percent! Also rooting for Charley and Jude.

Team Voyager since the release of Dreamer. I‘ve always had the feeling, that this could bring Australia back to the Top 5.

As for Sheldon, it‘s ok but the song does nothing for me.

Australia is second in odds for Sheldon. With him he can hope for victory, with any other choice he does not qualify

Totally agree. Dreamer is a slice of something different we desperately need this year.

Hoping for a miracle and Charley wins!!! This song is just so special to me and is close to my heart. If Charley wins, tears of joy will be shed on Saturday!

I kinda hope Charley wins if not Andrew. Voyage is just ok, I don’t get the hype.

From Dreamer, I loved the beat and the song overall, but its lyrics felt like they were a bit shallow and repetitive

I hope for Sheldon, G-Nat!on or Andrew Lambrou to take the trophy and go to Turin in May. But I feel as if Sheldon will be the winner of my top 3 in the actual show as with my current top. But we will have to see. Can’t wait for the show tomorrow night, going to be watching and voting in the live broadcast for sure. It is going to be a really competitive show for sure.

They really want Voyager to win by putting them 10 and right before the super calm ballad while Charley & Sheldon are in the middle with some inoffensive songs in between.

It won’t happen but I’d love to see Voyager in Turin, Sheldon with his voice, emotions, aesthetic could really make an impact in Eurovision too, the song unfortunately for me is not very special and is repetitive but it’s for me, but I can understand why Sheldon could be a potential Eurovision winner no doubt about that.
My choice would be Voyager, but Sheldon would be a safe choice, so Australia good luck for your National Final, it will be interesting.

Running order doesn’t matter that much in a show that only consists of 11 songs. While Voyager might have the penultimate slot, Sheldon’s in between two uptempo songs, so he’ll stand out there as well.

Both Kate and Montaigne were the bookies’ favorite before the final, so it was not a surprise when they won. The best act will win on Saturday, and it looks like Sheldon’s going to Italy. He’s my favorite too.

Lets hope it wont be another 3 hr show for 10 songs where half of the time is the same ad running over and over

Oh don’t be silly, of course it won’t be a 3 hr show for 10 songs. It will be a 3 hr show for 11 songs.

it is a 2 1/2 hour show (ie, 33 mins of songs and 2 hours of padding )
