Hola mi bebebé! Romania’s Selectia Nationala is back in 2022 after three years. Ten acts will be battling it out for the ticket to Eurovision in Turin this May.
Ahead of the show, we asked our readers to vote for the act they wanted to win.
A total of 2,873 votes were cast and there was a clear winner.
WRS is a favourite to win Selectia Nationala 2022
WRS emerged victorious in our poll with his song “Llámame” (“Call me”). He gathered more than a third of the votes – 36.93% specifically, which is 1,061 votes.
The star’s half-English, half-Spanish entry has received a lot of attention on social media, particularly due to its Spanish lyrics. In fact, the Spanish fandom is quite crazy about it, so you may expect some Eurodrama if he doesn’t win.
Picking up the silver medal is Dora Gaitanovici, whose song “Ana” received 593 votes (20.64%)
Rounding out the top three is Gabriel Basco’s ballad “One night”, with 389 votes (13.54%).

Selectia Nationala: Show details
The grand final of Romania’s Eurovision 2022 national selection takes place on 5 March. The winner will be chosen using a combination of votes from a jury and public televoting. Each juror will reward points of 12, 10, 8-1 in order of their favourites.
The public vote will be determined by a complicated method – in short, if song A received the most viewer votes and song B received 10% of song A’s votes, then song A will be awarded 12 points and song B will be awarded 1.2 points.
Do you agree with the results? Should WRS win Selectia Nationala 2022 and represent Romania at Eurovision in Turin? Let us know in the comments below!
I really hope Dora Gaitanovici wins, cause her song is inspired by Romanian folclore both musically and lyrically (the ballad about Master Manole).
But I won’t be mad with WRS (the revamp was good), or Romania Mea (although this one needs a huge revamp imo) either.
Sad to admit that, but the rest of the line-up are sure NQs, even tho I like 2 more out of them.
Mmm those hips don’t lie
This guy can’t sing and the song couldn’t be even more cliché and silly. Dora Gaitanovici has the best song here. Petra, Banu and Alex Parker are fine too, the rest is not worth listening…
To be honest: i don´t want any more dramatic ballads for Turin, i think we all need a dance tune between the drama. So- WRS would be a good choice. He only should practice singing a little before the show.
How many tasteless people are here ?? This is just awful , the guy can’t even sing live. any juror who gives it one single point should be dismissed.
I’m just glad Do Svidonya didn’t qualify. Imagine if it won and Romania was represented by a Russian inspired song with lyrics like ”I ain’t your Russian spy”.
It would be very awkward, to say the least…
That song had an anti-Russia message tho… The lyrics were a bit too naive to be fair indeed.
I find this very hard to predict, but I can’t for the life of me see this silly latin ditty do anything in Turin. Somehow, Vanu’s song gets to me most, although his styling in the semifinal was so jaw-droppingly bad that I fear it’s a hopeless case.
It will either be Dora or WRS, no one else. Dora, besides fans, has some friends in TVR since she was an SN interval act a few years ago. WRS on the other hand has the show and he’s from Global, same company as Roxen, wich could count in TVR’s eyes as well I guess.
Please, România Mea is the only good song here…
WRS obviously doesn’t know how to sing but the song is soooo good that I forgive him!
Hola mi bebebé, hola mi bebebé, llámame llámame
Romania has got rid of so many great acts already that at this point it could literally be anybody. This is a real hard one to predict.
It’s either him or Ana but Llamane has been revamped and the live version features dancing now which greatly improves it. It’s a shame this corrupt Jury system came out with this list of songs because we could have had ARIS’s song (which means goodbye in Russian) and E-an-na’s song, which would have represented Romania MUCH BETTER. Llamane luckily was most people’s third or fourth choice.
Gabriel Basco is the best, whole package! Or maybe Dora, but I’m not sure about the song…
Wrs would be Roxen 2.0. unfortunately
WRS can’t really sing live, “Romania Mea” is kitschfest galore and would embarrass us in Torino, I will only be voting for Dora tonight.
It’s my favorite. Why would it embarrass you?
he probably won on “mumbling contest” but not ESC because I can’t hear clearly most of the words coming from his mouth.
But as a Spaniard myself, he pronounces the chorus perfectly.
WRS for the win! Llámame bebebé lol
The next time I won’t even listen to the songs of this national selection because it is clearly rigged.
Indeed ?
Romania mea or Ana to Turin please !
