Saturday evening the third semi-final of Norway’s Melodi Grand Prix 2024 will take place in NRK studios in Osloto find the three remaining qualifying places to the grand final 3 February.
We asked you readers to vote, who you wanted to qualify. And now, the results are in.
KEiiNO are big favourites to qualify
Just as in the poll for the winner of MGP 2024 it is KEiiNO and their uptempo song “Damdiggida” that is our reader’s favourite to qualify. They got an impressive amount of 928 votes, which amounts to 41.01% of the total votes
Almost as clear in second place we find MIIA with “Green Lights”, who snatched up 564 votes or 24.92% of the total. In third place it is Annprincess and “Save Me”, who got 260 votes or 11.49% of the total.
As usual the taste of the Norwegians differ a little from the total result. They still want KEiiNO and MIIA to go through as first and second, but in third place they have Vidar Villa and “MER”, who got one more vote than both Annprincess and MISTRA. So maybe it will be close Saturday night.
If the poll results reflect the actual results tomorrow, we will have seen songs number 4, 5 and 6 qualify from each of the three semi-finals!

I just discovered the most beautiful song by Norwegian singer Anne Takle. A haunting piano ballad called “Waltzing Alone”… this is the type of spooky Tim Burton-esque story that I’d love for Norway to send. Maybe one day. Music by Anne Takle, lyrics by double Eurovision winner Brendan Graham.

Actualy No One Cares
It’s a pretty nice tune, I’d certainly prefer it a lot over anything in the current MGP. A haunting instrumental almost always wins me over. Maybe this type of refined music isnt being sent in, or maybe Mr Autotune doesn’t want it there.
Mr Autotune is like Christer, I think, it is a television show to him, not a song contest. Sigh. I like the way this song tells a story, beginning, middle, end. Not the same stuff over and over in a loop.
I feel like if Mr Autotune manages to become the new Christer, we’re going to wish for Christer to come back. I have a suspicion that he might be that much worse tbh.
We’ll see if the pattern will hold tomorrow night where the last three songs qualify
I think this could be an exciting semi – you would think KEiiNO have got it in the bag, but the other two spots could be up for grabs.
Off topic but important – shame on Iceland for politicizing Eurovision!
The EBU must take action against Iceland
..? The EBU were the first to politicize Eurovision by allowing Israel to compete this year. They’re just reaping what they sow.
Iceland being the trolls of the year… I can’t stand them anymore. I just want them to send a nice song like “My Hometown” (in the movie Eurovision) and focus on the music instead of hate.

This reminds me of DJ Bobo Vampires are alive in 2007 or Pirates of the sea in 2008. It’s not giving me a serious song vibe, but rather a joke entry vibe which is not how I want to remember Keiino. They had a cool song back in 2019. Other two attempts feel forced. I can see them going through to the final but I honestly hope they do not win MGP this year.
