At the allocation draw in January, each of the countries competing at Eurovision 2024 were drawn into a semi-final and also the first or second half of each show. Now that all the songs have been revealed, producers of this year’s contest have decided on the exact running order for the shows on Tuesday 7 and Thursday 9 May.
Producers take into account the style of each song and the staging requirements of each entry when creating the semi-final running orders. It’s ultimately all done to create the most dynamic and seamless show possible.
As announced earlier this month, the Big Five (France, Germany, Italy, Spain and the United Kingdom) and host country Sweden will, for the first time, perform their songs live and in full during the semis. They won’t do so in a special segment after all the other acts. Instead, they have been integrated into the running order to give their artists the real feel of being part of the show.
The Semi-Final 1 running order will be revealed tonight from 18:00 CET. The Semi-Final 2 running order will be revealed 15 minutes later at 18:15 CET.

How the running order is decided
In January, the semi-final allocations were decided by random draw. The competing semi-finalists were allocated into either the first or second half of the first or second semi-final. The allocation draw in January gives broadcasters a head start on their travel plans and budgets for Malmö.
The full semi-final running orders were then decided by the Eurovision 2024 host broadcaster, Sweden’s SVT, and approved by Eurovision Executive Supervisor Martin Österdahl.
The grand final running order will be decided after the second semi-final, when all the finalists have been determined. However, as the host country, Sweden has randomly drawn their place in the grand final — Marcus & Martinus will perform first, thereby opening the show.
What do you think of the semi-final running orders for Eurovision 2024? Do any songs now have a better chance at qualifying to the grand final? Tell us your thoughts below!
Can I just say how wicked it is to have William and Deban back in the same room reacting to the running orders on youtube. This charismatic combo is what got me hooked on wiwibloggs all those years ago.
The split screen reactions we’ve seen this year for the individual song contest entries have left me feeling distant, so it’s great to have the original WiwiBers back together.
Love you guys.
I don’t mind Big5+Host performing in full in the semis, but I would much rather they perform after the semi-finalists, just to be clear that these are beyond-competition acts.
Why not let the Big 5+1 serve as the interval acts of each semi? They will get their moment to shine without confusing matters for countries competing for votes. Seems like a simple solution to me.
I think that we will be able to say many things after this week’s ESPre-Party. Many acts that we haven’t seen live yet will perform. I predict that ratings will change 😉
Come on guys… Lets get real. Ok the first semi has better songs and sounds more interesting BUT… honestly… How safe do you feel to predict qualifiers for semi 2 ? Just take a minute to think about it…
i am soooo taking part next year myself if that wannabe chanel qualifies for Malta
that entry feels sooooooo un-malta, and i used to love them in this contest 🙁 they completely lost the plot going for a copycat entry, rather than doing their own thing
my fave maltese entries are
what if we, this is the night, coming home, walk on water, i am what i am
I Am What I Am is the prototype of a “copycat entry” written by Swedes as was Walk On Water. What If We came from Belgium.
What If We was co-written by Chiara and a belgian yes Marc Paelinck I Am What I Am first had a guitar instrumental, Emma changed that to a piano instrumental and honestly i might’ve been one of the very few but i liked this change of entry from her to something more catchy, uplifting yet more or less similar message as out of sight although more universal Walk On Water was better than Chameleon for Ira, Chameleon would’ve nq’d i think, and yes the brilliant Molly Hammar was in backing vocals there (who fun fact now released several songs with… Read more »
Out Of Sight was the more likely qualifier of the two. I think Chameleon would have q and similar finishing position to WOW.
Anonymous91 for Malta 2025? DO IT!!
will vote for Latvia, a masterpiece!
Happy he got nr9 at least . More chances this way
The declaration of Eurovision fans on which Semi Final will be the stronger turning true as much as Netta’s prediction for the host city next year, it always turn to be the opposite. Semi Final 2 is way more stronger.
(before the songs are revealed ofc)*
Netta didn’t predict the host city. It was a Jewish-hebrew saying: “Next year in Jerusalem”
Not really. If you look closely, 1st semi is much stronger quality wise. Whether the performances will be better in the 1st of 2nd semi will be seen after the rehearsals, but songs wise – it is safe to say that the semi 1 is much stronger, plus the most likely winners are in the semi final 1, so that’s about that.
The second semi is so the semi-final of death
I mean, the Dutchman said that victory is not important to him, only publicity.
Well, he’s not winning anyway so
His Eurovision is already a succes with over 15 million europapa views on You Tube
I wouldn’t mind Netherlands winning! But they compete with Croatia and Estonia for the same segement of televotes and the juries will probably don’t do them any good 🙁
Doesn’t matter, Duncan Laurence competed against Sergey Lazarev and Chingiz.
Maneskin competed against Blind Channel and Go_A.
This is typical Eurovision follower stuff. None of the casual viewers will think Europapa is anything like Rim Tim Tagi Dim. Because it isn’t. One is happy hardcore, the other tries to be a bit like Rammstein. Completely different genres.
Donwt be so sure about that
He can say whatever he feels like, fact is he might win the whole thing. Chances are good, and top 5 is secure.
winning also wasn’t important to Tanel Padar and our legendary Dave Benton and look how that turned out 🙂
hopefully Joost’s performance is as much of a genuine party as that one was, and it needs to be genuine not forced
The EBU and SVT soooo wants Israel to Q. They put them near the start of the voting so the viewers will remember Israel’s song the most.
So…..? Same with the Netherlands, Australia etc. What’s your point???…..
The new voting rules are not clear yet.
I think they just decided that voting starts at the start of the show.
And Rest of World can not vote during the shows, only before.
I think It starts at the beginning of the show, but only in the final
Israel would qualify from any spot, anyway. Even regardless to the song, but specially when the song is on such a high level and very unique and different from the other genres in it’s Semi.
With that being said, even if what you are saying is true (that EBU and SVT wants Israel in the final), that’s make sense and nothing wrong with it. Their purpose is to create an event that will draw the most attention and rating, and also having great quality songs going to the final for the entertainment. Israel is ticking for them all the boxes.
do you have a problem with that?
I think they put Israel is 14 position because everyone will talk about Israel’s participation and it makes the TV viewers curious.
Even if Israel’s eliminated from their semi-final, Eden will still take Malmö by storm and the Palestine crew will be ashamed of themselves for attacking her and harassing the EBU. 😉
It’s clear pretty much… Croatia is favorite to win, odds + running order + televote etc…
Joost will take the Crown.
Thats indeed a possibility, or one of the other 36 entries 😛
Yep, i agree with you.
Netherlands, Estonia and Croatia all compete within the same segment. None of them will win.
Yeahhh Meowww
Bruh what is it with Albania always taking the death spot lol
Maybe because they keep sending the same old song over and over again?
This will be a fun year and I can see at least 7 songs winning. Running order in the finals will play an important role! The producers were clear in the Semis, they gave the best spots to countries which lead in the odds and I guess That’s OK. But what happens in the finals?! Will they again play it safe or give us a fun mix up?! I definitel hope so. Especially when I would not get Mad in any of the 7 scenarios where any of my 7 possible winners win the whole thing!
NL might be lookin like an obvious qualifier, but they will still announce them as the last qualifier. And I will still suffer from heart palpitations lmao.
hahahaha,NOOO, thats soo 2014!!
And I bet they’re going to announce Ireland last in the first semi.
As long as we hear out name more than once throughout Semi 1 .. hehe… but if not… Bambie has a whole new world of fans who like their genre, and will continue to follow… And I’m leading the pack..
I think Ireland will give NL 12pt on both nights, with Switzerland, Croatia, Norway, Poland, Slovenia, and France up at the top… They’re the most memorable, creative entries for our ears, based on past likes and dislikes.
Oh, and Italy… It’s got a good alternative ‘groove’.
Don’t forget the Irish (and Norway and UK) vote will be heavily skewed by Latvians, Lithuanians and Poles living in these countries
To be honest, this type of diaspora voting is why I’m not really bothered how well we do… I’m more interested in how well they (Bambie) do post-ESC. It’s a great platform for the right type of artist, with legs to carry them forward.
But I think (or hope) the more creative and obscure acts will score well. I get jaded with the same old stuff (key channggeee anyone) year after year. Just a me thing.
You are right. Perhaps Doomsday Blue could have a last minute key change or an even higher pitch at the end lol. Bambie is truly creative, some of the other acts are trying to be kooky just for the sake of it.
Talking about the semi, there is no Latvia or Norway. Secondly, Ireland will be skewed not because of diaspora but because of religion. I can see Poland not giving Ireland any points because of “satanic” imagery. That and that the song is kinda similar to Portugal 2019. I hope that this song will qualify because chaos
But in the final yes regardless of who qualifies. I think this song and act has broader appeal and is less “niche” than Portugal 2019 (which should have qualified, as should have Hungary). Instead you got a tone deaf “dentist” with a joke/troll entry. Ireland sending a “satanic” entry; oh my days!
The entrants in Latvia, Norway, and Ireland will do whatever it takes to garner fans in Sweden.
Ireland is definately out!!
Not if Bambie Thug takes Malmö Arena look like a huge stadium in a Taylor Swift-esque fashion. 🙂
Italy will win again, the televote and the jury’s will love it, and a second place in the odds now??, it’s a done deal
Why all this downvoting? BenSmith has a point!
What about that rumors that jury is able to save one particular song from elimination? I hope that’s True because Ramonda is in big trouble with that running order, and I hope juries can save her if something goes wrong
Hey guys! I see some people dislike the 2nd slot that Serbia has got, but I think it is a PERFECT slot because we can see whether Ramonda really can rise like a phoenix when completely dried out, so death slot is like a destiny 😀
I like the idea of Big 5 + host perform live at SF but I don’t like they perform between them.
it’s the third time in the past 5 years that they put Switzerland on number 4 -.-
I think this was necessary after all the women before and after him, the show needs a man.
He’s not a man apparently
Poor Albania they always put unpopular songs perform 2. why they dont put Ukraine or some favorites in second place.
because they people can’t complain about the second position being a “death spot”
because then*
They killed Serbia for 3. time in row. Second position is curset but dont forget that Michal Szpak also performed second in semi final and finished 4. in televote
What do you mean “killed Serbia for 3rd time in a row? Serbia has qualified the last two years from second place in semis!
People love to forger that 2nd place is a death spot only if the song is Bad. If it’s good it qualifies
Is it me, guys, or did Wiwibloggs remove the post will the poll asking about who would win Eurovision 2024? How come?
I can still see it
Man, I feel bad for Albania. Almost every year they get the worst possible running order slot, and this year is no different
They perform 10. last year
They do kind of send the same song each year however to be fair.
every year albania send the same song in different fonts and then expect a good place in the running order- a song of that calibre is fit for the second spot- if they send something different then maybe next year they’ll get a better place ?????
Because I like to look at numbers I counted some statistics and it’s quite curious how different qualification rate is between the two semi-finals. My theory is that it’s because it’s always semi 2 that’s longer when we have odd number of countries. Anyway – the best qualification chances (based on the running order) is to perform last. That’s 85% chance for you. Other great positions: semi 1: 9, 10 and 14 semi 2: 4, 13 and 14 Worst positions: semi 1: 4 (the worst) and then 1, 2, 11 semi 2: 3, 5 (shared worst spot) and then 10… Read more »
Which would meen that the “lucky” countries are:
semi 1: Luxembourg, Slovenia, Finland, and Portugal
semi 2: Netherlands, Switzerland, Estonia, and Israel
and “unlucky”:
semi 1: Ireland, Cyprus, Serbia, and Moldova
semi 2: Greece, Czech Republic, and San Marino
a position 4 is different if there are 15 countries or 18. these statistics are therefore incorrect
Sure – this is just for fun.
i hope you’re right about Estonia then, such a wholesome fun bop (i don’t like netherlands, but this is right up my alley in terms of cheesy party vibes, the older guys kinda remind me a bit of our party legends of Rowwen Heze, the rappers remind me of a hip hop group here Jeugd van Tegenwoordig)
a literal piece of genius entry, oldschool and modern nice fusion
Yeah, I also hope Estonia will qualify – it’s an amazing fun song and I don’t want it to be left in the semi.
Depends on the tbh Loreen was 11 in semi-1 last year.
Also when semis used to be longer the spot 9 used to be in the first half and they put the best song in the first half there.
True – but then again even the “worst” spots with qualification rate 21% still aren’t completely out of the question. Not to mention these are just numbers – it more depends on the quality of the performance, staging, what songs go before it and what after it, the number of songs performing…
Both Tali and Eden got great spot to shine and I’m so happy, we probably gonna have 2 Israelis at he final this year! Luxembourg now has much better chances to qualify from as a closer, and Israel would have qualify from any spot anyway, but favored a lot of being the latest balladed and before the screams of Norway.
Great allocation.
Thank’s god, we will not see the two in the Grand Final.
Stop it, okay? You’re making me more and more worried for Eden.
The less Israeli representation in polite society, the better!
Said “The MORAL FAIRY”….. ha ha ha….
BTW, if you are looking for a JOB – HERE is a GOOD offer:

HAHAHAHA. Very funny Dear, we are getting so used to these kinda vids since the 00’s when we had to face a whole range of attacks with hundreds of deaths in Europe and also the USA.
Remember all those horrendous schoolshootings in the USA??, always crises actors. The attacks in Nice, Norway or Berlin the same stuff.
Its just click bait Honey.
Dont bite too quick.
It’s called ”Pallywood”…..
Tali is luxembourgish you know? just jewish roots from her father, she is born in luxembourg, mainly been living in new york, where she also studied to be a singer-songwriter
I like this running order because no two songs of similar genres are after on another, the girls bops are at the start like always and Europapa last is great I love the way they have selected the running order this year.
Europapa is a great song to close both semis, The Netherlands will do great I think.
Lets come together!!
It’s now or never!
You know the words!!
Its quite funny how the esc fanbase online always overanalyze the running order. Lets be honest it does not affect that much. Its just an excuse to blame something if your favorite song does not make it
Please tell us who won from draw 2, Dane
Spot number 2 doesn´t matter in the semi, in the final I agree it is a problem!
does it matter if Its 2 ,3 or 4? No. It is coincidental that number 2 is just doomed to be “the death spot”
If it was coincidence we wouldn’t use the word doom, but I have a solution. Let’s go straight from 1 to 3.
maybe the weaker songs are just always at the second spot which is why they never qualify from that spot?
It’s not critical for the very good songs, but those who are borderline qualifiers can be influenced a lot from their spot, specially in only Televote semi.
I just dont believe that it affects it A LOT. People here are overanalyzing this so much
Not sure how I feel about including the pre-qualified countries in the running order, it would’ve been better to make them perform at the end with the voting already open. I’m afraid this will confuse the public with several complaints about not being able to vote for the UK or Italy during the semi-finals. Other than that it was an extremely predictable running order, SVT is very formulaic, the only thing they got wrong is Israel -> Norway back to back imo.
Why? Norway isn’t a ballad, it’s rocky and loud, imo it’s actually benefits both Israeli and Norway
who i think will qualify, those who i feel strongest chances with to qualify SF1: Lithuania, Serbia, Ukraine, Croatia (apart from that pretty open field, with maybe Cyprus i can see as a nq similar to the sekret, x my heart opener nq’s) SF2: Greece, Armenia, Netherlands, Norway, maybe Estonia but idk yet although i see decent chances for estonia at standing out for the televoters either (other than that also a very open field) in terms of running order, looks like we will have two fab shows also for the neutral casual viewer, good positions for the big 5… Read more »
Following on from all the discussion about the potential negative impacts of having the Big 5 and Sweden performing within the running order, it’s interesting to see their placement and the songs they seem to follow after. All the automatic qualifier performances come after ‘lesser popular’ acts this year, Ireland, Iceland, Moldova, Czechia, Latvia and Estonia. Some of these countries having struggled to qualify in recent years, none of the semi favourites effected. I hope this won’t impact qualification chances, especially for Ireland. Bambie deserves to be in the final!
Sf2
Am i the only one who thinks that Albania maybe will qualify? Italy, Greece, Austria, and Switzerland are countries with big albanian diaspora. Also, last year 12 points from the rest of the world went to Albania . Greece, Netherlands, Belgium and Armenia, are sure qualifiers for me
Sf1
I really cant predict this semi. The sure qualifiers for me are Croatia, Ukraine, Portugal and maybe Luxemburg
Watching the recaps to the semi-final 1 running order, I feel that Lithuania, Ukraine, Finland and Australia come out of this really well.
Lithuania is the first carefree, joyous entry following the two songs before being on a bit of a downer.
Ukraine then impacts as a serious entries following a couple of dramatic entries.
Finland brings the fun back after a couple of serious entries
And Australia is a joyful track surrounded by some deep, contemplative ones.
For different reasons, these 4 strike me as ones that have benefitted most from where they have been placed.
Iceland is also a fun entry though, so not sure why Finland would bring the fun back?
i can see many older people get up and dance with Queen Mommy Hera’s easy banger
Iceland has a slightly upbeat veneer but I think it is more of a contemplative entry than something designed to be straight-up fun. Certainly lyrically speaking, Iceland has an anxious, self-reflective aspect to it. Assuming viewers understand the lyrics, I don’t think they will necessarily be feeling happy hormones by the end of the song, they may be more self-reflecting on their past experiences and the hurtful qualities of love.
magic number 14 for Israel, Johan Cruyff’s legendary number, if this isn’t a good omen, i don’t know what is
i’ll salute Israel for 3 minutes during superstar Eden’s performance
I will give a different type of salute during Eden’s performance.
Naz1s read wiwibloggs now. Hopefully you’re on a list.
You would be PERFECT Cassette for this JOB:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mvUznboCJ6s
join all you queer for p//lestine friends and boo until you lose your voice…
It would have been magical for The Netherlands or Spain
Cruijff had number 9 when he played at Barcelona.
If Israel will qualify it is only because of politics, the song is not good.
Netherlands was going to qualify for the final regardless, so I’d rather have “saved” this spot for the final. But it’s a good sign that the producers think so highly of Europapa.
Would be perfect if Joost could open the Finals, with his Welkom in Europa- opener.
owe………..wait@#$% ……………..
Aaarrgghhh, Unforgetable !!
Exactly my thought too. The good thing is that he now comes earlier into the picture of the televoters.
Maybe people will be traumatised by Norway, go for a lie down, and miss Netherlands
hahahahaha
Nice one
They will miss the best part!
I am so excited for this! The first semi final really starts with a bang! Although usually perceived the death slot #2, I think Serbia won’t have any issues in qualification. The finishing countries in semi 1, namely azerbaijan, Australia actually have a much better chance with this running order, as they have slots which really will let them shine. The ethnic and cultural vibes of both azerbaijan and Australia together really works. Having Luxembourg close was fairly predictable! First time back, so give them a slot to shine. Unfortunately I think the song is weak, and they really need.to… Read more »
of course they don’t let Croatia open the show, because RTTD is the ”contender” of this year so for that reason it can’t open the show
no.1 favourite to win (same like Sergey Lazarev You are the only one, Loreen Tattoo)
Austria not opening the show because they need something to kill off Czechia’s chances, and Malta opening can hurt Albania a lot with Sarah’s SloMo alike slick dance bop
Serbia, Albania in slot 2 because they are expendable, not adding much to the entertainment value of the shows, the earlier you put them, the better
Malta’s SloMo alike ? are you deaf ?

Putin is a douche.
There is no evidence that Israel attacked Russia.
What the hell are you on?
The terrorist attack was IS not Ukraine
relax please
I think it’s ridiculous to have the Big 5 perform in between. They should’ve just performed at the end during voting.
Like Recap-Song-Recap-Song-Voting Closed-Song-Results
Other than that I’m fine with the running order. If a song is strong enough it will go to the finals . I see people complain about Serbia. Why? That song should be strong enough to qualify. If not, then it’s just not good enough.
I’m excited for May.
Serbia still has potential to qualify, Albania on the other hand not so much
so i think #2 from SF1 will q, but #2 from SF2 won’t (also last place maybe, sandwiched between two mega bops from Malta, Greece)
Qualifiers
Switzerland
Austria
Denmark
Armenia
Georgia
Belgium
Estonia
Israel
Norway
Netherlands
Following from all the discussion about the potential negative impact of having the Big 5 & Sweden perform within the running order, it’s very interesting to see the placement of songs around the automatic qualifiers. I notice the Big 5 and Sweden performances all come after lesser popular songs this year. Ireland, Iceland, Moldova, Czechia, Latvia and Estonia. Some of which have struggled with qualification in recent years. Any of the semi favourites are not affected. I hope this won’t impact their qualification chances. Ireland deserves a spot in the final!!
With all this BS adding the big 5 in the middle of the competing running order, the least they could do is have one of the big 5 at least perform before the 1st competing song.
Ireland benefits from this a lot, Bambie is placed between two twinks, and one of them we can’t even vote for.
I think Malta will benefit from opening, especially because Albania follows after. Finally, why do people think Serbia won’t qualify because they’re in the death spot? Ramonda is one of the strongest entries this year, Teya Dora will obviously qualify.
I think the UK will benefit, although no votes can be cast for Olly during the semifinal. People “horrified” by the Irish entry will try to vote for the UK (or go to the kitchen to grab a glass of water).
Don’t start hate below this comment. I respect every artist and their music but the Irish entry this year leaves me speechless. Chill and enjoy Eurovision!
Ireland has one of the most attention-grabbing entries of the year, and whilst some may be horrified, others will be captivated. The same could’ve been said about Hatari, but they placed 1st with the public in their semi.
The UK has a bog-standard pop song, it’s nothing special, I think viewers will be a little underwhelmed after Bambie’s extravagant performance.
I just watched Hatari as I’ve seen comparative references to them over the past months. I love the music, not so much the vocal. It does, though, support my thoughts about the endless references to Bambie ‘screaming’… if they were ‘male’ screams would it be more acceptable – from the plethora of hard rock male bands that have competed in the NFs and ESC throughout the years? I think, as you do I believe, Bambie stands out in semi1, certainly on the snippets, and hope the public will buy into something more creative than generic. Their back catalogue supports their… Read more »
PS: I think the female sex have more ‘reason’ to scream than their male peers… Let it out ladies 🙂
I wish her luck but it’s not for me
A true ESC fan. Polite 🙂 Have a great day.
I hope that nobody in israel will vote for Ireland…funding the ter..sts that committed the attacks against us is a serious matter!
Ireland, so pathetic! they will not qualify
Oh dear – this is getting worse and worse, if not predictable. Small countries just used as fillers, bigger countries + countries high in betting odds are scheduled at the end of each half.
This must stop! It has nothing to do with a good show, more to do with politics, money and replicatiojn of the same practice. Disappointed.
Maybe the smaller countries should send better songs then?
Agree!
i am happy with San Marino’s RO position though? before Georgia’s eleni wannabe entry
israel , norway and luxembourg are small countries
Unpopular decision: Cyprus is a NQ…1st slot isn’t amazing…better that 2nd or 3rd sure! But not great…
Semi 1 Q (not favs, from running order):
Servia
Lithuania
Ukraine
Croatia
Slovenia
Finland
Australia
Portugal
Luxembourg
1 spot left: cyprus/poland or azerbeijan
“…and approved by Eurovision Executive Supervisor Martin Österdahl” who is Swedish and of course he’ll always favor his own country.
“Sweden has randomly drawn their place in the grand final”… Yeah, sure “randomly” from a bowl where all the tichets had 1 on them, haha…
If it was rigged, you wouldn’t choose to open the show.
The final voting is different from the semi voting from this year – the sooner you perform in the final the better. So…when will Sweden perform? haha
I am sure you believe that the earth is flat!
Ofcourse, it’s politics. Just noticed first bigs are at 5th and 6 th position. There are already favoured since do not compete in semi, how come none of them are from 1st-3rd place? Common. Mr. Osterdahl and co, you are so obvious.
Isn’t it very weird to have 3 performance in a row that you cannot vote for – esp. given that there will be another opening performance?
This maybe has been talked about but Joost has got the prime slot of everyone.
The staging will be crazy and will leave people talking about that one song more than any for the two day leading up to the final. He will win televote with France taking jury.
I’m so excited to see what the Netherlands will do on stage!
I don’t have a good feeling about it to be honest. The Dutch are known for weird staging (not always but quite often, especially in the past).
On the other side of the spectrum lies Switzerland where I feel confident that they will deliver a good staging for Nemo.
Psychology says we remember the last words the most.
Joost will win the televote although nemo may have a combined overall better. Time will tell.
Please not Italy. The first la noia chorus will feel flat and empty in London and Madrid on stage. It’ll go downhill after those are shown
In the past the NLD’s delegations werent much bothering about excellent stagings as the focus used to be on the song. Look at Duncan. They had to fly in another lightbulb at the last moment. Which wasnt such a great attribution in the end. The whole stage show could have been much more WoW! S10, could have done top 10 or 5 with beter staging, but we never know what they had in store for us as the kinetic sun in Milano failed. This year we have a complete fresh creative team with Stefano Keizer as director. So I hope… Read more »
I’m just excited… It’s kooky, fun, and makes me smile (until the final moments when it make my lips quiver). It’ll do amazingly well if he sits in a stool. 12 from Ireland.

I can’t wait what teamBambieThug is bringing to the ESC table in Malmö. Digging in other material online from them. AMAZING!! Such a creative bunch of artists. Really delighted they are participating and such a big platform is their free space where they can show what they create. I love it. One of the best acts for me in this class of ESC24. Atfer Little Big and Hatari nice finds by means of Eurovision. In this way the good old Songcontest is giving the space for more experimental genre of music. Wich I applaud and say thank you for. Our Douze points are for Ireland.
This is a joke. Serbia, one of the few ballads this year, is the second. Then much later Israel and Norway same tempo one after other. Stupidity or politics?
This is fun. Let’s look at these tempo measurements in BPM: Serbia 2024 = 84 BPM Israel 2024 = 87 BPM Norway 2024 = 130 BPM Reference link (though this is not entirely accurate; e.g. Lithuania is wrong in this video): https://youtu.be/jM0Jwp-Qy5c?si=F9QG8C4oMGVsafc2 Interestingly, the slowest song in BPM for 2024 is apparently France (78 BPM). The fastest song is apparently a tie between Switzerland and The Netherlands (each 160 BPM). Greece and Italy are the most interesting cases because their Tempo varies in different parts of each song. And finally, Albania, Latvia and Portugal are on this year’s honours list… Read more »
You do aware that before deciding the spots, there was a draw of which half of the semi final each country will be – Serbia drawn 1st half, and Israel and Norway 2nd half. So all your complains aren’t relevant. BTW, Norway and Israel are much different songs.
Everyone on this site know there was a draw , you discovered us America ? Putting the only ballad in the first half at second place is ridiculous. Also, is ridiculous to put Spain, San Marino, Giorgia, Belgium, Estonia, Italy in a row and then Israel and Norway one after other nevertheless songs are different- they all are. Btw who are you to comment what is relevant and what not? This is not a discussion but commenting.
Am I the only one who thinks that the big 5 could confuse some people?
Confuse why? People who watch the semifinals will hear the explanations of the presenters and those who do not hear them will later realize that they cannot vote for the Big 5. I don’t understand how this can confuse people. Could someone explain it to me?
Think of track running or swimming at this year’s Olympics. Wouldn’t it be confusing and downright odd to have athletes run or swim in heats uncompetetively?
I think that comparison is not objective. We could say then that there should only be one final without semi-finals. Would it be fair if one swimmer could train 30 minutes before the competition and others were not allowed?
It’s confusing to have the elites mixed in with the proletariat. Class systems should be abolished.
I think you already know that thanks to the contribution of the Big 5, more than half of the countries participating in ESC can participate. Would it then be fair that each state public television would pay its own bill and ESC would be reduced to 15 countries that could afford to participate? ?
I don’t know that, because it’s not true. It SEEMS true, but only because of the ridiculously high production costs that the EBU insist on.
All countries pay the same, in any case… by percentage of budget. The Small 32 pay proportionately their fair share, it just doesn’t translate as such a big figure. To conclude, all members of a union should be treated as equals – that is what unions are FOR. Dignity, respect, and equality for ALL!
I think it’s not good for you to lie. Everyone can check which bill each country pays if they have a transparency page on their public television stations. The big 5 pay €400,000 each, logically that amount of money is sometimes half the budget of some television stations in countries with a lower GDP. This year we have the example of Romania that has decided not to contribute its corresponding part to be able to pay the emission rights for the Paris 2024 Olympics. That is the reality, please do not confuse people and I advise you to inform yourself… Read more »
If I was a member of an internet user union, I would expect all members to be treated equally… but I’m not, so I don’t.
Friend, you belong to the group of privileged people who can enjoy the Internet, you don’t reinforce the words Lol
Yes it would be, and they would not want to do it if they were pre-qualified. The top 100m men (and women) at the Olympics don’t have to contest the preliminary round.
Well if they are so stupid then that is their own fault to be honest
YES!
True. But they can put interviews/vids in between – greenroom, broadcasters, some honourable people, or even the promotion for GF – as usually done in the past.
So I think it can be confusing if not well arranged, but not inexecutable.
No voting numbers will be shown and there should probably be a note like AUTOMATIC QUALIFIER or something. How can that confuse people?
It seems that I need to flag something: There appears to be genuine confusion among some of us about when viewers can vote in the Semi Finals this year. I share your confusion. Back on the 11th of March, ESC posted this: https://eurovision.tv/story/big-five-sweden-perform-semi-finals William also did his best explaining this ESC PR here on Wiwibloggs, but it doesn’t actually answer the question of when the voting window will take place in the Semi Finals (unless you are in ROTW, where we know the windows will be 24 hours prior to each live show). There is also this big tease in… Read more »
Big changes frighten me. Sounds ominous. What could it be to deserve that advance billing?
The glass of water beside me is beginning to judder, Jurassic Park-style.
