Eurovision in Concert 2017

In recent years Eurovision in Concert has become a mandatory stop for the acts competing at the Eurovision Song Contest. And on Saturday 34 of this year’s 43 contestants performed their songs live, testing their nerve in front of an audience of Eurovision fans.

Many of the acts had already performed at preview events in Riga, London and Tel Aviv. But Amsterdam also welcomed some newbies to the 2017 promo circuit, including Albania’s Lindita, who brought a scintillating “I work hard for this body” outfit; Hungary’s Joci Papai, who performed with his mystical dancing lady friend from A Dal; and The Netherlands’ very own OG3NE, who proved they most definitely don’t need Auto-Tune to create those stunning harmonies.

Veterans of this year’s promo circuit once again did their thing. Italy’s Francesco Gabbani got the crowd shouting namaste, alé, and San Marino’s Valentina Monetta & Jimmie Wilson did their best to prove that euro-dance still has a place at Eurovision. Bulgaria’s Kristian Kostov silenced the audience with his stellar vocals, while Romania’s Ilinca & Alex Florea led a group yodelling session. Prior to performing, Sweden’s Robin Bengtsson recounted how, on Friday, he was only 500 metres away from the Stockholm shopping street where a man turned a hijacked lorry into a weapon. “It feels extra special to be here tonight with an audience like this,” he said. “It’s all about the love in Eurovision. It brings Europe together, and together we’re strong. Let’s do this.”

And let’s do this. You can listen to all of the acts who sang on Saturday in our playlist below. Then vote in our poll. You can vote for as many of your favourites as you’d like, but you can only vote one time. Be sure to tick the box next to every act you want to support before pressing submit.

I have only one appeal to everybody and I promise that to myself today also….. do not blame any other artists if they are going better than our favourites …… becasue Eurovision should be happy and pleasure time for everybody @ All artists dreaming to reach 1 st place in Eurovision but we not should fighting between us, as fans of them……. So good to see Brendan Murray so high in the poll – his voice was incredible on Saturday and he definitely doesn’t get the love for his talent that is deserved. Cannot wait to see him perform in the semi final!

Finland. <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 For me there is no competition. I also have an intense fascination with Lithuania. You know what they say, first people laugh, then….. They really are good and Fusedmarc – keep doing your thing and ignore the haters! I love what you do! Hungary was amazing! I love Hungary and I will always love Hungary! I am slightly disappointed – only slightly – with Azerbaijan but Dihaj still did great in my opinion! For all you worried about Francesco's attitude……..nevermind, I don't even know! 😀 However, I don't think he intends to act arrogant.… Read more »

Why are some of you complaining the Italian singer doesn’t speak English? He spoke as much English before and after his performance as the other performers did. It’s not like he spoke Italian to the crowd… I was there and the atmosphere during his performance was just amazing. It was near the end of the concert, so I was a little tired, but his performance just had so much energy in it; I felt refreshed XD. You can’t see it well in the Wiwibloggs video, but it was the performance that got the most people throwing their hands into the… Read more »

Guys, be honest this year is Italy’s year… I will not repeat here all the reasons why.. For sure I am not saying there is no good songs apart, there are, and maybe the songs or singing vocals are even better, but when you put all together – italy will win. BTW if you think different you always can make a bet as your countries like Poland has I think odss of 150 which can make you pretty rich if you think so 🙂 God bless you! My top 5, not my personal favorits but how I think it will… Read more »

@Noone

you can definitely hear improvements from the romanian NF, which is great i do however think that the outfit Ilinca wore in Tel Aviv should be the outfit in May, but dark really suits her, and it compensates perfectly on not being too sickly sweet 🙂

I think nobody can top Francesco, some people say that the same thing happened to Russia last year and it will also happen to Francesco but they are so wrong, the only reason that Russia did not win last year was that 21 juries gave Sergey 0 points! and that was because of the relations with Russia not with their entry, Italy is not going to have struggles with this matter and juries will vote for Italy and the clear winner of televote will also be Italy so I think Francesco is gonna win big in Kiev.

I thought Poland, Albania, Hungary, and Switzerland had the best performances.

A couple new performances to work with:
Albania: I was not complaining about Lindita’s outfit 😉 She sounded amazing too!
Azerbaijan: I was disappointed. The music and backing vocals were too loud to really hear her sing. And she sings beautifully as seen in the interview.
Cyprus: Better than I expected, I was worried his live would be weak.
Hungary: Very good performance and vocals.
Netherlands: Good performance but I think they vocally were playing it safe. Their harmonies are amazing as always!

I must say the Hungarian song is fantastic and the performer really is bringing passion a fantastic voice and beautiful a message.This is a dark horse in the contest and it will surprise a lot of people. Good luck to Hungary with love from Romania

I dont understand how the Dutch girls can sing so perfectly, its insane. Are we sure this is not playback or hidden vocals on tape somewhere? If they sing it like this in eurovision, they will do better than most of us predict, really. You may not like the song, but their voices keep you hypnotized for 3 minutes.

Why is Georgia’s Tamara so low in the poll, flawless performance in my opinion. I agree Kasia is looking hot right now with her stellar vocals. The harmonies from the girls from The Netherlands were on point and blew me away. Joci Papai sounded good too,the perfect song for this year’s theme. And as always Francesco has his audience in the palm of his hands. My top live performances so far are Poland, Italy, Georgia, Hungary, The Netherlands, Malta, Israel, Armenia, France and Bulgaria. A special mention also to Slovenia’s Omar Naber and his very underrated song in my opinion.… Read more »

@rado
sorry, I respect your oppinion about Eurovision in everyway that I can. But this wasn’t just that, was it? You demand that others don’t talk or write about a song just because YOU don’t like it. Some could see this as a rather rude and arrogant attitude in itsself. But nevermind, CELEBRATE DIVERSITY
Greetings from Germany

I’m very sorry, I’m reading some ungenerous comments about Francesco Gabbani. I respect all the opinions, obviously, but I think it’s unfair to definite him “arrogant and snob” and his dancing “idiotic” . He only talks in Italian because he doesn’t speak any other languages…I seem to me he is very kind and smiling with everybody and maybe he doesn’t deserve these unkind comments….This is my opinion Thank you, friendly.

Brendan Murray from Ireland blew me away (I was in the audience) – his vocals were spine tingling and he stood out from the others to me! He’s definitely the underrated dark horse this year for sure.

@liron

i agree, like Ilinca and Alex for example, they are making friends with Jowst, get along well with Claudia, Ilinca finds Brendan so cute and a interesting singer, but she also likes Joci, and Alex is mates with Nathan and Imri :), and Imri even had a yodelling lesson from Ilinca

but also Nathan and Brendan singing together 🙂

@Rado
Dear Rado
You’ve just read an article where Italy’s singer is mentioned with half a sentence. If you can’t cope with that or really believe this is unfair PR, because … well because: you don’t like the song, I am almost inclined to feel sorry for you. Now go, and write your own Eurovision blog, where you never ever ever ever say anything about that stupid (it’s sooo stupid, right?) italian song.
Good luck!

Irelands vocals gave me goosebumps last night. Italy got the entire audience with him, but so did Moldova and Belarus who even played Calm after the storm to please us Dutch. I love the albanian song as well but when she was showing what her momma gave me I saw that my boyfriends interest in her peaked.also, I spoke to at afterparty Valentina and she said Ciao I love you Im so tired. Lmao, love her! oh, WILLIAM, is it going to be tradition for you to stand just in front of me in the que of Eurovision inconcert? Haha!

Francesco looks so arrogant anf full of him self, he sure that he is going to win.wile the rest of the singer’s become friends and started following eich other on Instagram..and even sing eich other songs..Francesco not getting closed to any participate and only talks in Italian to his pepole. Such a snob. He should learn to be modest and friendly like robin bengston who is also favorit but really friendly and modest.i wish robin or bulgaria will win.

Haha! Yeah, as someone pointed out here already, Martina’s outfit was indeed interesting. I just wondered where she placed her lucky stone without her bra on! Lol 🙂 This outfit is one of the signature piecies of Prague Fashion Week winner Zoltan Thoth. Martina is like a world super model and the song was AMAZING! I want her to qualify so much! <3

Yes thats really true poll – I saw all performances and first 6 songs + UK truly the best perfromances as they have on places : 1. POLAND KASIA MOS ( omg….. she’s really Queen in live singing after all parties , beutiful voice and beautiful modern song…) 2. ITALY (middle guy in live singing however doing good positive show and thats good for him song….) 3. ALBANIA (she was really good with good strong voice) 4. THE NETHERLANDS ( big surprise ! pretty singing TRIO !) 5. BULGARIA ( song without power…..however good in live singing) 6. FRANCE (… Read more »

I’m sorry!! I didn’t like Lindita’s performance at all. With the vulgar dressing and her cocky attitude in a song about World please…….sorry not my cup of coffee.(Don’t like tea anyway)

Macedonia and Israel’s singers were much better today definitely. That augurs well cause there will be no disaster like Samra this year.

Diana(from DiHaj) did relatively well despite the overload of technical issues. I am still optimistic.

Hope Blonsh and Krispy get well soon.

Is that right outfit for song about peace, Lindita, honey? 😀 But, I would say that’s American influence on her, so it is forgiven 😀 Amazing singer btw.
And Jana was great ”It’s better this time, right?” 😀 Go, Jana!!
Artvik has great voice, wonderful! Others were good also, video and sound were much better here finally!
The best performance and energy, should I say once again? Francesco, of course! 🙂 <3
