Annalisa’s “Sinceramente” has been crowned OGAE’s top Eurovision national final song of 2024 during the annual Second Chance Contest.
The poll, which has been held every year since 1987, sees OGAE clubs across Europe, and the rest of the world, put forward a song that competed in their country’s national final for Eurovision. A vote is then taken amongst OGAE members to select a winner.
Italy stormed to victory in this year’s contest, with Annalisa earning over 100 points more than runner-up Jacqline from Sweden. It now means that OGAE Italy has the honour of organising next year’s Second Chance Contest.
This is in fact Annalisa’s second victory at the competition, having previously taken the trophy in 2018 with her ballad “Il Mondo Prima Di Te.” She’s only the second act to achieve a double win, after Alcazar won for Sweden in 2003 and 2005.

wiwilboggs readers favour Finland’s Sara Siipola
Since only OGAE members can vote in the Second Chance Contest, we held a separate unofficial poll for everyone else to chime in with their say.
Annalisa earned a lot of support here too, but was ultimately pipped into second place with our readers. Instead, they favoured Finland’s Sara Siipola and her emotional ballad “Paskana.”

Even more proof showing keiino would have done better than gate at ESC. Norway snubbed keiino again and again paid for it.
Proof of what?
OGAE isn’t the holy spirit that knows it all when it comes to ESC, very niche audience. For example: Sweden has won this second chance contest 19 times, while second highest win is Italy with 6.
I can’t believe other countries have been that bad all the time.
It certainly would have been higher in the final than last.
Most likely, but OGAE tends to go for simple pop and “If this country wasn’t good previously, it won’t be good this time either” -ideology; their own OGAE voting on ESC has some flukes year to year.
What a surprise.
How did Sweden not pick Medina for this???
My favorite song from last year’s entire Eurovision season. Weird that some countries didn’t submit representatives even if they had national selections and then voted.
Lordeana should have won! However, a good winner with Annalisa. Much better than her 2018 effort.
Well-deserved win.
If there’s a third chance contest, maybe Italy will win again with “Tuti Gold”.
I really enjoyed the songs from the 2024 national finals, so it’s nice to see some of them re-represented here. “Sinceramente (Cuando Cuando Cuando)” is one of my favourite tracks of the 2020s so far, so bravo to Annalisa, Paolo, Davide and Zef for a landslide victory here.
Is there really a trophy?
300 people watching the contest live on youtube…. this victory will change her life for sure! 😉
But still congrats to her.
For the record: Magnus Carlsson has won it three times. Once with Barbados and twice with Alcazar
This year Second Chance feels a bit poor. Few countries took part( Ireland, Iceland absent(. Only half hour show, boring voting.
What happened?
That said, Italy was s worthy winner. Great song . Also happy for Sweden getting second although I am not to fond of the song. But glad people appreciate it
Iceland didn’t want to send Bashar Murad to this, and Ireland only cared for Bambie Thug but no one else from their NF
Annalisa is a queen, she was my favourite to win San Remo. Much better and more classy song than La noia. I am sure it would achieve TOP 3 placing in Grand Final of Eurovision. I think it’s a matter of time when Annalisa wins San Remo and represents her country. Jacqline was amazing too, I also prefer her song more than Marcus & Martinus. I am happy that both of my favourites scored top two positions this year!
Great song. Congratulations Italy.
