Spain is locked in for the Eurovision Song Contest 2015 and only its selection remains a mystery.

Spanish site Detras de la Tele reports TVE will return to an internal selection for 2015, following the example set in 2013 with El Sueño de Morfeo and 2012 with Pastora Soler.

In that event the show is more likely to be the case of picking a song for the singer or group rather than picking the singer themselves.

Who might TVE pick to sing for Spain at Eurovision?

This is difficult to call – the only link between the wildly different styles of Pastora and ESDM is that both acts were signed to Warner Music Spain.

Pablo Alborán has been a long term favourite to sing for Spain at Eurovision. Daniel Diges was the last male soloist to sing for Spain and finished in 15th place with 68 points.

Disappointing but we’re willing to bet if Pablo focuses on his good looks, good voice and ditches Daniel’s dodgy clowns he could be onto a winner. His latest album went double platinum in Spain last month and he shows no signs of slowing down.

Maybe opening up his music to a European audience might attract him to ESC? Also he’s TOTALLY signed to Warner Music Spain!

Another singer in the frame is pop-singer Edurne who rose to fame on Spanish reality singing competition Operacíon Triunfo. Her 2014 single ‘Painkiller’ drew comparisons to US popstar Lady Gaga.

Fresh from a stint on Tu Cara Me Suena, Edurne has shown she’s no stranger to reality TV and maybe ESC could be her next gambit. Her last album Climax was also part produced in Stockholm so who knows – maybe she’s already found her ESC entry and has been waiting to unveil it?

Could Spain win from internal selection?

Ruth Lorenzo overcame a controversial national final result to place 10th in Copenhagen in May. ESDM however bombed in Malmö in 2013.

If TVE have the right singer though – and they’ve proved good at picking female soloists the past few years – they might finally win Eurovision again.

And let’s not forget, Conchita was internally selected and she cruised to victory.

Well we’ll know soon either way y’all: Detras de la Tele reports TVE want the decision made by the end of December. All we have to say is: olé!

What do y’all think? Could Edurne or Pablo rock it if TVE picked them to sing for Spain in Copenhagen? Comment below y’all!

I enjoyed the concert Brequette offered last summer in Helsinki. His voice fall in love, it’s the perfect candidate to represent Spain. I belong to a group of fans eurovision Finnish, and we all thought it would be a great representative! Love Brequette !

I don’t know why so many people in Europe want Brequette to represent us. Didn’t you see her performance at the national final? She spoiled it entirely with her nerves. You weren’t even going to vote for her in Eurovision, so stop asking us to send her, please. I personally want a boy/man/group for Spain this year. It has been all women since 2011. Anyway, Spain always gives too much importance to the artist, and too little to the song, and that’s why we struggle to get to the top 10.

Pastora , no he dicho que sea famosa!

——————– Brequette = 2 singles. Mas and puzzle together. Yeah super famous in Spain. Come on, I’m Spanish too, and it’s obvious that you love her and are a fan… but be honest man. She is not… Read more »

Brequette for eurovision 2015 ! #BrequetteAEurovision .
“Pastora Soler haha” Si no sigues a Brequette no quiere decir que este desaparecida, esta preparando disco, esta de jurado en un programa de tv canaria, y saldrá en la película “Palmeras en la nieve” película que aun no se ha estrenado y que tiene como protagonista a Mario Casas. Desaparecida no esta!

They could send either of those two or they could send Maria Isabel (Spain’s representative to JESC 2004/JESC 2004 winner) for next year since she did say that she’s in the works of a new album earlier this year. Perhaps one of those songs of hers from that new album of hers can be Spain’s entry for next year, or maybe they’ll even have her record an entirely new song!

Joining the group here who wants to see an internal selection of Brequette – I still think she was robbed this year. I’d really only want that if she went with a similar style of song, though – I’m really not a fan of her more jazzy music (eg. Puzzle Together).

TVE should choose María Isabel!

My prediction:

National final (Raúl Gómez, Roko, Angy, Pablo López, Melody, Brequette, Jorge González…)

TVE internal selection: Chenoa, Roko

Brequette is not famous in Spain to be selected internally for TVE.

They didn’t select Ruth Lorenzo last year for the same reason “she isn’t well-know for all the Spaniards” and she had some singles…

Brequette since “¡Mira quien va a Eurovisión!” is missing. So… no way.

Please can they just select Brequette already.

I’m sorry for u, but i 100% sure Pablo Alborán won’t be in ESC2015 (and 2016,2017,2018…)

He is maybe the most successful Spanish singer now, so… Eurovision is not in his mind.

And Edurne has her own TV show… live from monday to wednesday…. so impossible.

It could be Raúl Gómez or Roko, both with new CD… and with more free time for ESC

Alexander Rybak, Lena, Loreen or Emmelie De Forest were not selected internally.
Here are three basic principles of good, accurate and voteable performance at Eurovision:
1) Two verses and three choruses. First verse and chorus should be weaker, second verse and chorus should be stronger, last chorus at the entire power.
2) Dark background during first two verses and choruses. Brighter and more dynamic background during last chorus.
3) Centralized, but loose arrangement on the stage.

They may just internally select Brequette based on how close the results were last year. Who knows?

Unfortunately, Pablo Alborán has already said that he’s not interested in participating at ESC this year.

Edurne, however, could be a good choice with the right song. Let’s wait for the news!! ????????

Deven, the Malmo Arena was small (not even 15,000 seats)

Anyway, i would love to see Spain winning in the near future. They tried hard back in 2002 and 2003!

It would be hard to top Ruth’s result but they can do it with a great song and performance.

Spain needs a catchy song, there are many hot producers in America TVE could ask them. Something like Shakira’s Dare for example.

They shouldn’t go for another ballad!

I loved how Spain selected its entry this year. It was great because the national selection reunited great quality artists, and they weren’t many like in other NFs, it was the definition of -quality over quantity- and the talent came from relatively unknown artists and I think whoever of them would’ve done well, regardless of who would’ve won. So if Spain decides to do a NF like in 2014 I would love it, it also gives the people the chance to grow to love the candidates, even before they get selected, something an internal selection can’t offer. But if they… Read more »

I want Spain to win soon. If so, I hope that Malaga hosts. They have an 18,000 seat ice hockey arena. Exactly what Malmo Arena is.
