Edurne has been making serious waves with Eurofans. Social media went crazy after RTVE announced her as its performer, and Edurne was flooded by congratulations and support from former Spanish Eurovision acts. It wasn’t just the former Eurovision acts giving her support though – KitKat Spain did too

Around 11am on the day Edurne and her song “Amanecer” were revealed as the Spanish bid for Eurovision 2015, KitKat released the above tweet offering a KitKat for a retweet if Edurne made the Top 15. Within a few hours, over 70,000 confident Spanish Eurofans had retweeted the post, forcing KitKat to backtrack and clarify that the campaign was only meant to receive 2,000 RTs at most. #Awkward.

With a storm of complaints pouring in, KitKat finally relented and promised a KitKat to everyone who retweeted before 23:59 CET the day that ‘Amanecer’ was unveiled.

Did you retweet for a KitKat? Do you think Edurne will make the Top 15 so everyone gets their KitKats? Sound off below!

It’s good publicity to let Spanish residents know about Eurovision, as viewing figures have been falling as the years go by. I still can’t understand why everyone is saying Spain will do well this year when we haven’t even heard the song. Edurne may be good but that doesn’t mean she won’t have a bad song.

I have a great feeling 4 Espana this time…
Spain at last will hopefully be one of the hot favorites of whole Vision and even why not a hopeful contender candidate 4 the victory in Vienna!
I expect her song to be really amazing!
