Mini EMA 2015, the kids’ version of Slovenia’s adult Eurovision national final, debuted last month. Six contestants were chosen to compete but only two girls made it to tonight’s final. For one last time in Ljubljana, today’s final took place as part of weekly TV show Vikend paket. Lina Kuduzovic emerged as the winner with her song “Prva ljubezen”. Next stop? Sofia for Junior Eurovision 2015!

Final Performances

Both Leni and Lina Kuduzovic performed their songs live in the studio. While a jury panel helped select the two finalists, only the televoters made the all-important decision this evening. Power to the people, y’all!

Mini EMA 2015 Final Result

After all the votes had been counted and verified, the envelope revealed Lina Kuduzovic came out on top! Y’all agreed with the televoters, with Lina receiving 72.68% of the overall vote on our recent poll.

“Prva ljubezen” was co-composed by Lina herself alongside this year’s adult Eurovision representatives Maraaya. Both of them also worked on the lyrics along with Sabina Kuduzovic whilst Raay did the song arrangement.

Slovenia made their Junior Eurovision debut last with Ula Ložar, today’s Mini EMA co-host and guest performer. Last year she was selected internally by national broadcaster RTV Slovenija. Her entry “Nisi sam” finished 12th out of 16 with 29 points. We were shocked at Slovenia’s undeserved result, and our readers agreed, with Ula receiving our Wiwi Junior Award for Most Wronged.

Did the right girl win this year? You can watch the final again here.

I’m quite happy with the choices the Netherlands and Slovenia made this weekend, “Million Lights” is very pleasant and “Prva ljubezen” is really good, even by ESC-standards. Also marvellous voices from both of the girls!

I hope they do well in Sofia, and I can imagine Slovenia going really far this time. 🙂

Excellent!

First impression is very positive and I think this will grow on me even more as time moves on. The angular piano figures at the opening really set the mood for the suspenseful verse that follows. The verse has a gentle but focused sound that commands attention right away. The chorus is powerful and passionate but also pleasant to hear. The structure of the song has a good buildup.

I think this is my favorite song that’s been selected thus far for JESC 2015.

What a voice Lina has! Best voice so far in JESC! Of course I also like Shalisa from my own country, but I have to admit Lina is somethig else!

I prefer Leni though, but Lina does have a good voice.:) Curious how it will work out for Slovenia in Bulgaria… I am afraid it will end like last year.

2. The Netherlands (MY COUNTRY 🙂 ) 9/10
3. Ukraine 8/10
