Gaitana, the world’s most successful Congolese-Ukrainian artist, seems to be issuing a command with her new single “You Will Like It”—and we’re happy to obey. “I prepared a hot summer surprise for you, my friends,” Gaitana said in an e-mail statement sent to WiwiBloggs.Com. “A new music hit ‘You Will Like It’ won’t leave any dancing heart without attention.”
We love Gaitana’s positivity—and her mangled, long-winded English. Can I get another quote please?
I am presenting a summer hit which we created together with a composer Stanislav Nozdrachyov. The song “You will like it” is a dance track that charges with drive and dense energetics. I love dancing and I derive pleasure from giving our audience a good dance track. The song “You will like it” is a song that put your body in motion from the very first moment. It turns on, it rocks, it inspires for a dance. It consists of summer emotions, easy friskiness and emotionality. This track is a mixture of sun and smiles, sexuality and flirting; a mixture of the brightest colours and emotions. I am sure that “You will like it.”
The saucy lyrics convey that “easy friskiness” and suggest that Gaitana wants to get down on it: “I got something for ya/ You have to taste it/ Something for ya/ You have to try it/ Once you try it/ You will like it.” We don’t think she’s talking about a cake.
