Forget Santa Claus. Valentina Monetta, the most popular export in the history of San Marino, will be giving all Eurovision fans a special present on Christmas Eve. Whether you’ve been naughty or nice you can collect your gift during Tombola di Natale, San Marino’s annual Christmas show. The program begins at 20:45 CET and you can watch the show on the SMRTV web site.

Valentina’s people are promising something big, y’all. As they said in an e-mail to wiwibloggs.com: “Make your Christmas a bit more special with Valentina!” Oh we will. Yes we most certainly will!

We recently caught up with Valentina in London when she was recording her forthcoming album. She was being very coy, but did confirm that the album will include her Eurovision 2014 song. We can’t wait to hear it. She also mentioned that Ralph Siegel, the maestro of Eurovision and one of the community’s most acclaimed composers, will be penning a jazz number. We want that one under our Christmas tree!

What do y’all think the surprise will be? Will Valentina unveil her Eurovision song early?

It’ll be a major anti-climax if it’s anything other than her Eurovision entry and I don’t think it could be anything else. Because in all fairness Christmas Eve would be a very bad date, from a marketing perspective, to announce an album or tour. But if she’s just teasing us she’ll definitely deserve a spot on Santa’s naughty list and a lump of coal. Can’t be messing with Eurofans at Christmas. 😛

It was originally confirmed for a January release, but I have a feeling that either her song for Eurovision, or album (then we guess the song) will be released during the Christmas show.
