You may not be able to pronounce the names of the six finalists in Iceland, but we know you have what it takes to listen to their songs and let us know who should win Söngvakeppnin 2014.
The acts are incredibly varied. Their sundry ranks include opera and punk, dated rock and some sort of Icelandic swing. The first four acts below qualified directly from the semi-finals. The last two—Sigríður Eyrún Friðriksdóttir and Ásdís María Viðarsdóttir—were eliminated during their semi-finals. But, owing to a special panel set up by RUV, they’ve been resurrected from the dead and given wildcards to the final.
When you’re done listening to each of the songs you can vote for as many contestants in our poll as you’d like, but you can only vote ONE time. This poll closes on February 13 at midnight.
The national final will take place on February 15—one day after Valentine’s Day. Who will wind up broken-hearted? And who will spend the weekend knowing that Iceland is totally in love with them? Vote now!

Ásdís María Viðarsdóttir – Amo must win. The rest are really boring songs.. I don’t think we a potential ESC winner from Iceland.
Please not Von 😛 Amor could be good with stage & costume improvements.
MY ABSOLUTE FAV: Ásdís María Viðarsdóttir – Amor Uniqueness in everything: the song, the singing style, the performance she leads on stage … everything here is hypnotizing to my senses and I LOVE that. I want to see this in Copenhagen competing against Ellen’s “Songbird” from Sweden if both win. Two amazing songs, two unique singers …. totally out of the boring ESC comfort zone in terms of music. I dreamed of something like this for such a long time. Plus: sung in Icelandic … wow … even better! Title in Portuguese/Spanish … sweet! 🙂 Original 🙂 What a revolution… Read more »
Oh, God. Please let it be ‘Amor’.
F.U.N.K is the best for me =) Really like the song and the vocals are great live… If they don’t win, then let it be Greta 😉
Was it just me or was the finalists’ announcement inappropriately low-key? Eftir eitt lag – Wow, this is something special. I love this one. She has a REALLY good voice, while the song is really fun and well-written. Von – Phenomenal vocalist, but the songwriter is doing his best to exhaust the singer with this one. Why? No need to have him singing so much so quickly. Still nice, but the end just feels like “oh, I forgot to include some long notes so I’ll put them here.” Amor – Mysterious, with an okay vocalist. It’s been a while since… Read more »
Really dissapointed when Til pin didnt make it 🙁
Anyways, i would like Lífið kviknar á ný or Von to win :3
I hope that winning song stay at icelandic language like last year.
Gréta Mjöll Samúelsdóttir – Eftir eitt lag can WIN the ESC this year. I am totally in love of the song, stage and Greta charisma.
1- Eftir eitt lag
2- Amor
3- Lífið kviknar á ný
4- Þangað til ég dey
5- Enga fordóma
6- Von
I’m very disappointed with the second semi-final results. My two least favourites were the qualifiers. Til pin should’ve been a wildcard instead of Lífið kviknar á ný, actually it just should’ve qualified in the first place along with Lífið kviknar á ný. Iceland, don’t screw this up, vote for Amor or Eftir eitt lag.
TOP 6
1.Ásdís María Viðarsdóttir – Amor
2.Sigríður Eyrún Friðriksdóttir – Lífið kviknar á ný
3.Gissur Páll Gissurarson – Von
4.Gréta Mjöll Samúelsdóttir – Eftir eitt lag
5.F.U.N.K. – Þangað til ég dey
6.Pollapönk – Enga fordóma
I think fight for victory will be between Gréta Mjöll Samúelsdóttir and Gissur Páll Gissurarson , but i think Greta will be the winner thank to televote .
YUCK. NONE OF THEM!
