They sought “Something Better” but we don’t think they meant this. Over the weekend, Finland’s cutest boyband and Eurovision 2014 representatives, Softengine, took to Facebook to announce the departure of their bassist – Eero Keskinen. Apparently he’s bored with rock stardom, and has decided to focus on a career as a lighting technician instead. Some may have seen this coming, after his non-appearance in the lyric video for the group’s latest single “Yellow House”, but for most it’s a bit of a shock. Thankfully, this doesn’t spell splitsville for the band, and they will continue on as a four-piece.
But it’s not all doom and Scandi-noir. In the same Facebook post the quartet also announced that their debut album will be released on 17 October, with a lauch party in their home city of Seinäjoki. So at least Softengineers have that to look forward to.
Softengine also performed on this weekend’s Eurovision Cruise, and of course the wiwibloggs team were there to nab an interview. You can expect to see that over the coming days, but if you want a taster head on over to our Instagram page.

My friend, Pieter, can play bass and maybe can replace him as well hahaha is there any audition coming up?
Eero 🙁 </3 I hope they found a new bassist to replace him in Softengine. My friends, Reza and Renaldi, play the bass. Both 15 years old, one of them can replace him. But they're Indonesians.
