The trio Beatrys gave us gurrrl power while wearing black pantsuits. And Alexander Rybak’s much-hyped girl group MILKI danced in unison while singing about their “Accent”. But in the end Belarus was won over by Uzari singing “Time” while the gorgeous Maimuma fingering her violin. That’s right people: Uzari & Maimuna are headed to Eurovision 2015 in Vienna!

Uzari & Maimuna: The winning performance

Jury Vote

Screen Shot 2014-12-26 at 21.31.41

For weeks Eurovision fans have been talking like MILKI were destined to win EuroFest 2015. It certainly looked that way. Songwriter Alexander Rybak, who won Eurovision in 2009 and whose family hails from Belarus, is a cult figure in the country. In recent weeks he has managed to draw public support from well-known artists in the Russian-speaking world, including Filip Kirkorov, Ani Lorak and Eurovision 2011 winner Eldar Qaimov. Eurovision’s 2007 winner Marija Serifovic, one of Alex’s pals, also tweeted her support. The song also won our fan poll and finished first with the Wiwi Jury.

But it didn’t happen, y’all. And Alexander has lashed out at the juries for failing to deliver him a win.

Did the right act win? Let us know!

I was really rooting for Belarus to come-up with something worth noting, unlike last two years. Unfortunately, this is generic and nothing special at all. At least it doesn’t have lyrics as stupid as Cheesecake.

So happy with the result, always loved this song since I first heard it and plenty of time to correct issues people are seeing. Milki was overrated in my opinion and had Rybak not been associated with them I almost guarantee the song would not have been as popular.

Belarusians are the same type as the Maltese idiots. Maltese have Ekklesia Sisters, but they chose weak and boring Amber. Belarusians have Milki, but they chose weak and boring Uzari & Maimuna. Only Macedonians well chosen. Daniel Kajmakoski is much better than Amber, Uzari & Maimuna and Trijntje Oosterhuis. His entry is much more accurate, despite the fact that many idiots thinks otherwise.

Wow! When I checked the results last night I was almost sure that I would see MILKI with “Accent”. It has been a pleasant surprise though! This one has potential. Taking into consideration that the audio in the video was really bad and that it is still December and they do have time to make it work, I think Belarus can be in the final once again. I didn’t hear all songs, but what I know is that this one is a tad better than the criminally overrated “Accent”. Next time try with a killer of a song Mr. Rybak.… Read more »

this is a horrible song. even worse is golos winner & rodney gilfry’s russian language balalika duet entry for russia from PERVIY KANAL. I’d rather watch VGTRK’S anti rodney gilfry boycott.

YES! I am so thrilled! I thought Uzari was chance-less! My favorite Belorussian entry in a long time, possibly ever!

I like his voice … very Guy Sebastian meets Daniel Merryweather … but my only criticism would be the chorus as it seems to lack that element that should make the song have an impact on me …

Yeah! I’ve predicted it before! Uzari and Maimuna deserves the title!!
Alex Rybak’s Milki is just overhyped!

Austria once did the same thing: they chose a pitiful song instead of a good one and they failed to qualify.

SO much better then MILKI. If they stage it right, it can give Belarus its best placement ever.

BTW… WHAT A SORE LOSER, MR RYBAK

The audio is absolutely shocking, but overall, it sounds pretty good. It needs to pick up a bit more in the middle, it feels flat, but fairly decent. Anything is better than Milki.

I always like surprises in Eurovision, so this is pretty cool. However, I feel like this song is going to get lost in the competition what with it’s “averageness”.

Thank God (or the devil) Milky didnt win… It was soooo overrated.. This song is maybe one of Belarus’s best songs in its eurovision history. Which is not a great history (not even quite good)… But please the singers needs a makeover, his hairstyle is sooo outdated and that bad cover version of superstar’s outfit made my eyes bleed

Good decision, Belarus. It would have been so embarrassing to be represented by a girl band singing plastic pop.
Whether it wins or not, it is important to send a good song. Well done.
I am so happy!

YoungsterJoey – Muzzart must’ve bought an advertisement block during the show. The way adverts work is that companies will pay for their ads to air during a certain time, so that’s what Muzzart must’ve done.

This was the best song, but I still don’t like the singer’s voice.

Anyone else found it weird, or perhaps could clarify, why there was even brief commercials for Muzzart during the national final? Just seems odd and unfair for the other competitors.

This song will likely fail to make it to the final even. it is very generic and average…. Milki would have made it to the final easy.. sorry Belarus but this was the wrong choice.

I would not be surprised if this results i overturned and Milki is announced as winners in the next few days.

This is a good song. And it has a lot of personality which counts for a lot in ESC. If they keep working on it till May they could have something really powerful.

I liked the start of the song – had a nice opening as if it would head somewhere good.

I liked the end of the song – was dramatic

But for most of the middle I found the song quite boring.

It looks like I am the only one here that didn’t like the song

I was shocked Milki didn’t win,my mouth was wide opened for like 5 minutes. I liked both this song and Accent so I’m actually happy about the winner. The singers’ voice together with violin gives a perfect harmony and the song itself is very good, very energetic. With the right staging I think this will end up very well in the semi final and also in the final but it’s still too early for predictions.

sounds very generic and typical Belarus to have singer who hardly can sing in English!! Milki would have been a much more fun and interesting choice for ESC.

sorry Belarus.. now you will not make it to the final at all.

Although I was pushing for Milki to win (they probably would’ve been my number 1 spot), Time is very well composed and I feel like this song will grow on me a lot leading up to eurovision. The violin captivates me into the song too lol

The jury absolutely decimated Muzzart and Beatrys, wow. I tuned in late and missed all the performances except the reprise. Uzari and Maimuna seem to be a deserving enough winner, though.

Somebody needs to improve the audio stream quality!!! It’s worse than AM radio!
