America’s largest Eurovision partay is stayin’ alive! On Friday, January 23, Eurovision fans from all over the Northeast will be shouting their favorite Eurovision songs, waving their favorite flags, and donning their most fabulous attire for the beginning of the third season of “Europhoria”. Us Americans may not have the rights to vote or easily participate in the contest, but we are more than ready to go all Daria Kinzer and celebrate!
As we said in a previous article highlighting Europhoria, Gilad Mandelboim, an Israeli living in New York, started cranking up the Eurovision music in NYC after Eurovision 2012. “When I got back from Baku I tried to fight my Post Eurovision Depression,” he told us. “When I entered my first bar in New York post-Eurovision it hit me! I’m out of the bubble, not in Baku anymore. Let’s bring the bubble to NYC!”

He has seen crowds of over 400 people, and knows what his people love. As previously said: “‘Waterloo’ for sure, everybody knows it. ‘Euphoria’ is also a big hit in NYC. Dana International is a crowd pleaser. Many enjoy their Swedish treats: Carola, Afrodite, Charlotte and more!” This makes sense: he has hosted parties abroad in Malmö and Tel Aviv.

@Random.sage2.0: Please tell me more about the Sacramento scene 🙂
Bring it to Toronto! I’m pretty sure there’s a lot of Eurovision fans there. 😉
If you have the audience, we can bring Europhoria anywhere 🙂
I heard about parties in San Francisco, Sacramento, Chicago (where the unofficial USA ESC club is), Maine, Wisconsin (lots of Scandis there), N. Dakota, Seattle (especially when Microsoft watched in 2013), and (both rumored) Miami and Nashville. I’ve never been but damn it if I wasn’t looking. Lol
Is there anything like this in San Francisco?
Calvin, we’d love to visit Cleveland, we just need to reach the fans and see if there’s a Eurovision demand, and if there isn’t, we’re here to educate 🙂
Hey – how about you bring this to Cleveland? 😉
