Amaury Vassili has developed a bad boy rep of late, but France’s Eurovision 2011 representative is moving on. His newest single, “C’est Comme Ça Que Je T’Aime (This Is How I Love You)”, shows no signs of his troubled past, but rather a new romantic adventure.

The track is taken from his most recent studio album, “Amaury Vassili Chante Mike Brant”, which as the title suggests, is a tribute to the 1970s crooner Mike Brant. The song is very much of its era and sounds like “Puppy Love”, if it was in a minor key. It matches the suave, romantic vibe of the 1960 hit by Paul Anka, but fails to match its quality. At times Amaury sounds like he’s yelling, rather than seducing. Still, this is big, loud, and dramatic, and that’s what any good song is… right? Not Amaury’s best, but it could be much worse.
Anggun And Mike Brant – “C’est Comme Ça Que Je T’aime”
Amaury isn’t the first Eurovision star to tackle this classic. France’s 2012 diva, Anggun, recorded a virtual duet with the deceased Brant a few years back. How does it compare to Amaury’s version?
