During “The Next Star“, Israel’s national selection for Eurovision 2015, Nadav Guedj became something of a golden boy. So it’s only natural that he has announced he will sing “Golden Boy” at Eurovision.

The 16-year-old singer has wowed us with his Justin Timberlake-like voice. But he prefers to be called by his real name, he told wiwiblogger Ron in a recent interview‘.

Doron Madali wrote the song. We don’t know much about him just yet, except that he has previously released an album. Despite not winning our poll, our readers are relatively pleased that he will be singing for Israel. As you’ll recall, the last time Israel made the final at ESC was in 2010–and with a male singer.

What do you think about Nadav? Could he be our “Golden Boy” at Eurovision? Comment below!

Interesting. IBA usually stipulates that their song includes Hebrew so this song should. I hope it does actually

Haha I share Daniel and Easpag’ sentiment 😛

Btw, I keep trying to find this Justin Timberlake likeness you talk about… I don’t hear it at all but you keep mentioning it.

@Xepher Doron Medali directed ballads (and did a poor job at that) but as a writer he usually writes catchy uptempo middle-eastern songs.

@Daniel I wholly agree. Don’t release little bits of into every now and then, just give us the whole package at the one time!

Beautiful title! Very unusual.

I really hate it when they just release the title and not the actual song. It’s annoying. Seriously, really annoying.

I still can’t get over Rak Bishvilio and Same Heart not qualifying. They both deserved top 10 results. I really hope the song is good because Israel deserve the final.

Doron Madali is an AWESOME song writer!!! He wrote songs for Israeli music legends like “Im yesh gan Eden” for Eyal Golan, “Aba” for Shlomi Shabbat, and “Tel Aviv” for Omer Adam. He also was in charge of Eurovision for Israel in 2008, 2010, and 2013!!! It looks like Israel has a great song underneath their belt!

According to Eurovoix, Doron Madali was the director of the 2008,2010 & 2013 Israel entries. So expect another ballad from Israel.
