Call it a Baltic blitz. This year Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania have all upped their game for Eurovision. Estonia’s Elina & Stig have been among the bookies favourites to win Eurovision since even before they won Eesti Laul. It’s widely believed that Latvia’s Aminata Savadogo is her country’s best contestant ever (it’s no wonder people from more than 70 countries voted in the Supernova selection). And Lithuania’s Monika & Vaidas have charmed the socks off of Europe, drawing rave reviews for their feel-good duet. Since the introduction of the finals in 2004 the three nations have never gone three-for-three and made the final in the same year. In 2015 they may finally right that wrong…

It all begs the question: Who is your favourite act in this Baltic revival? You can listen to each of the three acts below. Then vote in our poll. You can vote for as many acts as you would like, but you can only vote ONE time. So make it count. We’ll close this poll ahead of the first semi-final in May.

ESTONIA: Elina Born & Stig Rästa – Goodbye to Yesterday

LATVIA: Aminata – Love Injected

LITHUANIA: Vaidas Baumila & Monika Linkyte – This Time

Lukas, how does Estonia copy Finland’s and Sweden’s songs?? What the hell!?? You hate the country because it picks songs to Eurovision that look similar to the other countries’ songs to you? Wow, great reason to hate a country. What are you, eight?? Lithuania is in my bottom 5 along with Moldova, The Netherlands, Georgia and Danemark. Lithuania’s song is very happy and adorable, but I HATE her voice!! If that guy would sing alone, it would be in my top 10-15. And the chorus is very 2000 and cheesy as hell… Although I wish the best of luck to… Read more »

My tops for 2013 and 2014 were more or less a ‘standard’ ranking, but in 2015, my top is very different from most. I don’t really like Estonia’s song (kudos for the mood it sets, but it’s not for me), Latvia comes in at 39 (again, kudos for the mood, but I cannot bear the way she sings the song) and Lithuania at 31 (they radiate bliss, but the chorus feels misplaced to me and sets the entire track off). I like Estonia’s most, though. I guess I’m just a little weird this year?

Christy, you did a big mistake…….
All the time, Estonian are copy not only songs, but everything…. They copy from Finland, Sweden, Netherlands…. They acts that they are very modern country, that they are not a part of Baltics, that they …….. So, I hate this country only for copy…. And Christy, tell me how much points you give to Lithuania from 1 to 12….
For Estonia I give 3 points….

@Lukas Okay, I have to agree with you on ”Amazing” – It sounded very similar, however I wouldn’t call it a copy. A copy means that it’s exactly the same. But If I hear one more time that some dumb teenager calls ”Goodbye to yesterday” a copy of ”Calm after the storm” I’m gonna hunt that person down. Seriously? Wth is wrong with your ears?? The only similarity is that Stig plays the guitar and wears a suit but THAT’S ALL PEOPLE! And besides, Stig wrote the song 3 years before the Common Linnets so please explain me how does… Read more »

WTF? WHY?
1. Lithuania
2. Latvia
3. Estonia (I think I hate that song… because…)
because Estonia don’t have their songs, they copy from Sweden and Netherlands, such as, ‘AMAZING’ and Loreen’s ‘EUPHORIA’ and now ‘GOODBYE TO YESTERDAY’ and ‘CALM AFTER THE STORM’: the same style. ESTONIA, BETTER GO HOME.. BYE BYE

They are all very good entries, but for me Latvia has massive potential. If they use expressive dance staging in Vienna this could win.Every now and again the winds change at ESC.This might be one of those years.Love Injected might be a bit leftfield but it has wonderful power. The bridge, chorus and refrain are sublime.

Love Injected is the most underrated song this year and I think it’s because it’s so different. Is there been any neo-soul entry in Eurovision?
It’s like last year The Netherlands – there’s not a lot country entries in Eurovision, the song wasn’t even close to be favorite by Eurovision fans and bookies, but they finished 2nd.
I hope Aminata will bring out everything she have inside on stage and Europe will apriciate that. Good luck Aminata!

@Daniel_2015 yes, she did. As well as she composed melody on digital piano (that intro theme), even if she don’t know how to play piano. Later in studio professional producers made the final version of the song.

For me Aminata is by far the best of the three and one of the best in the entire competition. Did she actually write the song herself? That’s amazing!!! What it need, in order to make an impact with the viewers, is an amazing staging and she would finish inside the top 5. Estonia, I said it before, is not among my favourites (let’s just put it that way…). Last year The Common Linnets were my 2nd favourites (behind Spain), and they went home with silver despite the fact that they were really behind in all the poles and odds.… Read more »

I’m fond of Estonia only. I can’t even remind myself the Latvian song:/ The entry from Lithuania looks not very serious among so many calm songs and ballads.

I am a big fan of Estonia in general but this year their song is just a bit dull, it’s one of the best but just dull. Lithuania’s is overly generic. I really do like Latvia and don’t understand why it’s so underrated by fans and bookies alike. Come on Aminata!

@bavarson Keeping in mind that they all are very different in genres and yet stating that “they all are very bad” comes to me making a question for you – then what is good for you, average for you or interestng but maybe not for your taste? Because Estonia’s, Latvia’s or Lithuania’s sogs are quite different, also on genres. If they all are so bad, then what is ok for you? Finland’s or Cyprus entry?

definately, all three songs are great, but Lithuania is kinda average and will get lost somewhere on the right side of the table on Saturday 23rd, Estonia is very good, but not so original, i think Latvia is the best and has the potential to win it all

Estonia > Latvia > Lithuania

Estonia is terrific and a potential winner. Neither Latvia or Lithuania are in my Top 25 tbh, but neither is terrible.

Estonia’s song is nice, but in my mind they still are the crappiest winners of all time with their horrible song from 2001. Just because of that, I don’t want them to win. They still haven’t been punished enough, even though they didn’t qualify for the final 7 times, including 5 years in a row (2004-2009)! 🙂

Latvia – MNTHA (great and unique slow dance song aka Björk, instead we have nice and interesting, but next ballad)
Estonia – the guy on second place (up tempo rock song, instead we have next duo and ballad)
Lithuania – Dangerous SOS (instead we have next average song)

Baltics should better choosen, to make this year ESC better!

They all have pretty good songs, Latvia is my undisputed favourite baltic this year and Lithuania has been growing on me. I like Estonia but I’m getting a bit tired of it, and it gives me no “winning vibes” as so many people claim.

The baltics after many years finally have some good songs. I can actually see Latvia doing better than Estonia if they both get to the final! Lithuania may struggle as always. Latvias entry is probably there best ever entry but that wouldn’t be hard. Estonia is one of my favourite counties but this year I think is just a copy of the common linnets
