Isa was beyond fierce at Melodifestivalen 2015, blasting out of her Semi-Final direkt til final with ‘Don’t Stop‘ and landing in seventh place with 56 points at the final.
Now, Isa is back and turning it out tribal style. “Drum & Bass” fizzes with attitude, thumping militaristic beats and stuttering synths fused together into a much stronger R&B sound than ultra bubblegum ‘Don’t Stop’.
“Why should I play it safe, when I want insane, I’ll let you break my heart just to feel the ache,” she flirts over the bouncy strings before synths thump in for the triumphant chorus. The message is uplifting, strong and showcased with serious originality.
It’s difficult to imagine ‘Drum & Bass’ of any other recent Melodifestivalen alum. In Isa Sweden might have found its own hybrid Ariana Grande / Jessie J.
The track just oozes swagger. Homegirl is far more than those blinged out trainers, y’all!
With this single out and her new EP, the only other thing we want from Isa is her back at Melodifestivalen next year to slay the pack.
