Molly Sandén and Isa dazzled on stage at the opening night of Sommarkrysset 2015 in Stockholm. Sandén gave a commanding performance of her new single and EP title track “Like No One’s Watching”, while Isa reprised her smash hit Melodifestivalen debut “Don’t Stop”.

The duo weren’t the only Melodifestivalen stars taking to the stage on Saturday night though.

Patrik Isaksson, Tommy Nilsson and Uno Svenningsson have also all appeared in Melodifestivalen previously. The trio appeared at Sommarkrysset to perform a medley of tracks. Just D and Erik Hassle were the other two acts on the bill.

Molly’s performance on stage was killer but she had some strong words for event organisers after it emerged only 12 female artists will be appearing during Sommarkrysset 2015 against 33 men.

Aftonbladet reports Sandén as saying, “Damn we must highlight the girls! It is very guys in general, not just here in Sommarkrysset, you see it everywhere on the posters…its so darn cruel that girls don’t get opportunities because people do not believe they are as good as boys…so many awesome girls work as musicians, sound and light technicians but you just forget about it.”

Sandén conceded there had been improvements year-on-year but called the continuing gender imbalance “disappointing.”
This year’s Sommarkrysset takes place from 20th June-15th August and features multiple stars from Melodifestivalen, Sweden’s national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest.

Acts including Ace Wilder, Måns Zelmerlöw, Mariette, Darin and Samir & Viktor will all take to the stage across the coming weeks in Stockholm.

Leila K.

Saddest story I have ever heard from the Swedish music scene so far. I’ve read that one member of the band Army Of Lovers was almost following her footsteps. But I don’t think that was true.

Hi beloved fans,

My name is Kati Wolf and I represented Hungary in 2011. I also participated in the A Dal final of 2015. I really love this website, but I have one concern. I thought this was a website publishing Eurovision news “with attitude”. But why don’t you publish an article about this amazing Eurovision comic show “Da Dria Kiznr Show” where also I appeared?

Hope that Leila K has put her things together the 27th. At least she seem to have made peace with Rob n Raz. Such a tragic story.
