It seems that Trijntje Oosterhuis had more than just singing on her mind at the Eurovision Song Contest 2015, as she has revealed today that she is pregnant with her third child. The Dutch singer made the announcement on her website. Given that her due date is in December, the “Walk Along” singer would have been two months pregnant when she performed in Vienna.

That might explain why Trijntje went through so many different outfits in Vienna. She quickly discarded her first figure-hugging dress (after a universally negative reaction). Could Trijntje have gone with the ill-fitting “parachute” dress to hide her baby bump? If so, maybe the Barbara Dex award was worth it in the end!

The new arrival will be Trijntje’s third child after her two sons from her previous marriage. The father is her boyfriend Alvin Lewis. With baby on the way, Trijntje has had to reschedule a series of concerts planned for the end of the year. She’s not planning on taking too long off though: she plans to join her band the Ladies of Soul for concerts in February 2016.

We’re sending some big love and congratulations to Trijntje. After her disappointment in Vienna, this seems like a wonderful consolation. Maybe we’ll see the newest Oosterhuis following in his or her mother’s footsteps at Junior Eurovision in ten years time? Why-ay-ay-ay not!

@Steven

I so agree with you. People always have to be negative about someone/something. Those gays care about the clothes so much…

I’m happy she’s pregnant and congratz, no more barbara dex award next year. Or give it to yourselves!

@Devin well a lot of points were raised i wanted to respond to. Really dont get why anyone who writes more than a sentence is critiscized on here.

@Steven: I thought my comments got long.
@Mario: I remember my daft comments last year on Wiwibloggs.com.

To me, Trijntje looked more like Petra Mede in a black sack. (I’d fire JP Gaultier. 😛 ) I actually much fathered the dress she wore in rehearsals.

@PhysalisFranchetti. I totally agree with your points about special needs and weight, the award should absolutely not be used to make fun of someone’s actual appearance, or their cultural background. I would be very concerned had Finland won this year and would agree with retiring the award had they done so. The award should never go to someone if they are wearing traditional cultural dress or are just being judged on their physical looks – that would be totally unacceptable. But the thing is with this award, is it is generally given to a costume that is completely absurd (Lithuania… Read more »

Well, you are entitled to disagree. Whatever you think I was suggesting about the Netherlands was not the case at all; my comments were limited to having an award for the worst dressed act at Eurovision. I don’t think it is an acceptable award to make, purely because some of the acts that achieved a high vote total this year include a lady who was pregnant (1st), a lady who was of above average weight (2nd) and members of a band who have special needs (9th). Eurovision has moved on a little, and become more inclusive; there was a time… Read more »

@PhysalisFranchetti. I disagree – it’s just a bit of fun. Your post actually sounds quite discriminatory itself actually. You are suggesting that people made fun of The Netherlands and then it turned out she was pregnant. So are you saying that pregnant women can’t dress well and her pregnancy was the reason she dressed like that? That’s actually far more offensive then the Barbara Dex award lol. Just because she was 2 months pregnant doesn’t mean she needed to wear an awful dress. She probably didn’t even need a maternity dress at that early stage, however if she felt more… Read more »

@ Guys Paco & Deniz hugs & thank you.. <3 :)) {hope that the admins here won't block me from the site because of my too many comments.. :PP @ Chris show mercy please.. <3 :)) } —————— I believe that it was Trisha's intention to appear with that dress so to win the barbara dex award…Anyone would think that if was dressed with the same dress would win this prize i guess.. When she was wearing her first black dress that was too revealing it did not flatter her at all as she was a bit overweight to wear… Read more »

Netherland has offered us gems songs the latest years.. <3
*Birds* of 2013 <3 Pretty popular song among the eurofans <3
*Calm After The Storm* last year that met big success <3
Even Trisha's song was pretty amazing although she failed to qualify from the SF..

Netherland when was considered for years mainly 'dead' country to us managed to experience the GreAtY ressurrection rising like a phoenix so this is big deal <3

Ok thats all…No more posting & please excuse me… xoxo..

( Ok one more comment if u don’t mind guys…Will be my last one..) —————————– Netherland has 5 victories in our Vision…It first won in 1957{ the year that my mother was born & i hate my mother sadly..} But Netherland won in 1969 that was the gay year 4 us & marked the 1st year 4 our gay movement {28 June 1969} The last time that the dutch won was in 1975! Even more worse than France that last won in 1977.. So its fair deal 4 Holland to want winning again in our Vision…Its about time 4 that… Read more »

Trisha’s performance was pretty fine but just didn’t have that sparkle…It was like that Trisha did not really feel the song itself.. ————————————- She was 2 months pregnant last month in Vienna and already more than 1 month have passed now since the 60th Diamond Vision of Vienna…I miss EuroVision <3 ————————————– Now Trisha is 3-4 months pregnant…That means that her 9 monthly long pregnnacy will last till November-December.. She has already 2 sons so i hope that she will deliver finally a girl.. <3 🙂 And 4 her new born daughter better be lesbian when she grows up <3… Read more »

Holland Netherland had a beautiful song that year 2001 <3 Was better than the lame winner song of Estonia..
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LkhNYPnF0Ss <3

I dislike using the name NetherlandS with that country…Its just turn off & not flattering 4 the Dutch in EuroVision..
At least call them either Holland or Netherland without the *S* at the end..

Back in 1993 that the barbara dex award was invented in EuroVision, that year’s Vision was on my birthday & Ireland that was the big winner with Niamh Kavanagh’s *In Your Eyes* Ireland decriminalised homosexuality that year & being homosexual in Ireland became legal <3 Ireland on the day that Vienna's Vision took place on 23rd May voted YES on the public poll to finally legalize gay marriages in Ireland ! <3 The homeland of Trisha Holland was the very 1st country in the world that legalized gay marriages back in 2001 <3 We might had the 9/11 terror tragedy… Read more »

So it is very special 4 me personally <3

Even if are #1 of being the worst, b*tch you are still the number 1! <3 😀

@ Well this award 4 the worst dressed does not do or mean any harm.. It doesn’t indicate necessarily the WORST dressed but the least nice dressed that pass as fail.. I really do not have any issue.. Trisha’s dress was just unfortunate choice…It looked non flattering to her.. Well the fact that she was pregnant with her child means nothing.. Im sure that this child when grows up will feel special that at least his mother was awarded an award 4 being #1 somewhere…Even if this award was not 4 the best but 4 the worst 😛 If i… Read more »

The Barbara Dex award has been given every year since 1997, but I feel that it should be now consigned to history. The top 10 placements this year included the lady from Serbia and also the Finnish band PKN. I feel that an award for the “worst-dressed act” at Eurovision may stray dangerously close in some people’s minds to the concept of the “worst-looking act”, and it therefore promotes discrimination. The article says that the lady fom the Netherlands was 2 months pregnant at the time of the contest – please, it’s the 21st century and making fun of people… Read more »

Well im not really much into Trisha…Not a real fan of hers..
But her song *Walk Along* was really beautiful & from the best songs in the Vision of Vienna…Actually it was my 2nd favorite among the 40 only behind Georgia’s *Warrior*…Her live performance just lacked of magic & inspiration so i can see why she did not progress to the final..
