Softengine — that’s Topi, Ossi, Henri and Tuomo — achieved Finland’s second best Eurovision result of the 21st century with “Something Better“. Since then they’ve released critically acclaimed hit after critically acclaimed hit. The magic continues on December 4 with the release of their new EP. They’ve already teased the lead single “All About You & I“. Now, before giving us the full eargasm, they’ve released their second single “Big Fat Bass Drums”. It shows a more modern and urban sound, mixing stadium rock with dance beats and a catchy chorus.
“The song was born when Topi was driving home after a really long and exhausting day and was hoping that he would hear just one song from the car radio which would fit the moment’s mood,” the band writes on their Facebook page. “This single is compiled from a variety of sounds which reflects how the music sounded just at that moment.”

Softengine will release their second album in two EPs. The new sound may reflect other changes in their lives. All four of the guys have moved into an apartment in Helsinki, where they’ve worked on new music in their home studio.

@Lanti: I was tempted to direct you to a specific site to watch this video, but I didn’t want to give the RIAA/MPAA secret police the satisfaction of revealing the link so that they can send the online equivalent of the Tontons Macoutes to “shut it down or else…” :-/ Suffice to say, it will play every YouTube video blocked in, of all places, the U.S. 😛
I found an available link in the USA, thanks!
@Lanti: There are Web sites where you can play this video unblocked.
@lanti It’s on Spotify so you could try that as that’s how I found it just like how I found sinplus’ new single fire and ice which came out on the same day
Not available in the USA 🙁
