Last week we were introduced to the five finalists of Belgium’s national selection show Eurosong 2016. On the first show, they each performed their interpretation of a Eurovision classic before being evaluated by an expert panel that included Alexander Rybak. This Sunday the five will debut their potential Eurovision entries – and we now know a bit about their songs.

The second show kicks off on Sunday, and broadcaster ÉÉN has now revealed the song titles of the five competing entries, as well as a brief description of the song. The contestants will each perform their song live for the first time. This week’s expert panel will be made up of Belgian singer Tom Helsen and singer-songwriter Beverly Jo Scott (Loïc Nottet’s The Voice Belgique mentor and co-writer of “Rhythm Inside”).

Eurosong 2016 song titles

Amaryllis – “Kick The Habit”

“An atmospheric and richly arranged pop song with a story and an addictive chorus.”

Tom – “I’m Not Lost”

“Tom pulls out all the stops with a contemporary power pop number.”

Astrid – “Everybody Aches”

“Astrid’s fragile voice comes fully into its own in this contemporary combination of a soul-ballad and electronica.”

Laura – “What’s The Pressure”

“This is Laura as we know it: energetic and driving funk-pop. Coupled with a searing brass section to give it that spark.”

Adil – “In Our Nature”

“Adil brings a song with a message, a wonderfully honest and beautiful pop song.”

Well obviously I can’t listen to the songs yet, but Laura was the best on the first show when she sang dum tek tek. I hope her song is good and that she wins.

Laura’s song is written by Selah Sue reported a Flemish newspaper! I think that’s really good news. Well, let’s hope it’s a good song ’cause I had huge expectations from Trijntje’s song written by Anouk ..

Describing a never heard song with a sentence, that is a bit like explaining the difference between red and blue to a kid born blind… Just stop wasting time and give us the songs! 😀 They better be good to make up for the useless waiting.

Really excited for Tom Frantzis’ song. After telling him through Facebook how thankful I am for his song Grown and how I’m rooting for him to represent Belgium, he gave me an idea on what the song will be about. “It’s about wanting to do something else in your life, and follow your dreams.”

Ecstatic for all of them, but I’m hoping Tom has the best song. 🙂
