At Eurovision 2011 she served as a backing vocalist for Serbia. But on Tuesday Tijana Bogicevic finally stepped out of the shadows and took centre stage during her first rehearsal in Kyiv.
The 35-year-old stunner slipped into an all-white number consisting of a spaghetti strap top and billowing trousers. We’re assuming this isn’t her stage costume — it was a bit too simple — but it likely gives a hint of the colouring she intends to deploy on stage.
The number opens with close ups of Tijana in the shadows against a dark green LED. When the pre-chorus hits a stream of bright white lights shoot down from the stage’s light ring and the LED features water bubbles, which grow in intensity as the song progresses.
Eventually a male dancer appears wearing white trousers and a white button-up, which he leaves open to show his smooth chest and gym-honed abs. The dancing is very interpretive — she pushes him to the floor and he rolls around, carried by the whirlpool floor which features a series of crashing waves. Unfortunately you don’t actually see the LED waves until after he’s rolling around, so it looks like he’s giving birth or having severe stomach cramping.

Serbia wanted to do the ring/hoop, but the Ukrainian hosts told them it couldn’t be done. It seems strange as the ring would be a fairly easy thing to do – just hang it from the rafters or something else. I don’t see why they couldn’t accommodate it.
Tbh, boring and the vocals need to improve. If this were Belgium, Portugal or Ireland she would be out. But Serbia will qualify.
I want her in her ring swing! Vocally, she was okay but it left me a little cold in the short clip. A shame because I like the song and want it to make an impact for starting its semi.
If anything, it helped Austria’s chances.
Oh no, I was rooting for someone in the ring 😛
Don’t sure if this is memorable opening.. we”ll see..
Serbia like Poland this year wouldn’t qualify without diaspora voting for sure.
This is just flat and forgettable af
If they had put her in her ring, at least it would have been memorable somehow. Even though the hookline is catchy, the whole song already suffers from a lack of musical substance and I fear that a shirtless man performing interpretative dance around her is only going to highlight that fact even more. I also don’t think that white & blue is the right colour scheme for this song.
I like the background! I also liked the dancer! Yeah, it reminded me of “Walk on water” to be honest! Vocally she was on point!
But, I am confused! I really like the song, but I feel like they could have thought of sth more inspired!
Walking on water? For her encore will she feed the entire audience in Kyiv with just 5 loaves and 2 Fish 😀
Don’t like Serbia, but do wish we had Deban anchoring all these reviews (in general).
Is the male dancer the one that appeared on her music video or someone else? Please ask her wiwibloggs
That’s the guy from the video!
tijana from macedonia few years back had a terrible staging with a single dancer, hope this is not the similar thing, where completely was ruined an otherwise great song
I’m falling so deep… cos I- I- I- I- feel like I can walk on waterrr! 😀
A soft and extremely nostalgic start to SF2. This doesn’t look too bad, except that there is now officially nothing new about this entry AT ALL.
P.S. I still hear the Sugababes “About you now” in the Verses. Tut tut.
Speaking of which… Miranda Cosgrove’s version of About You Now is what I call a revamp. Take notes, Albania.
I love the Miranda Cosgrove video. Her boy in that video needs to come out as gay though. Haha. 😛
is Tijana copying Ira Losco’s Walk On Water haha
Very similiar staging.
Seriously. These interpretive dancers need to GO. I have never seen a Eurovision entry enhanced by these prancing goons.
Am a little worries about Tijana now. I still really like the song but she’s not delivering particularly well and the staging has done her no favours. Maybe there’s a reason she was a backing singer last time?
Insipid performance for an insipid song. It barely worked for Ira Losco, I don’t expect it to do much for her.
