Amir Etats DAmour

He’s currently making his way through his concert tour of France — but that hasn’t stopped the amorous Amir from dropping his latest single “Etats d’Amour” (States of Love).

Singing of broken hearts, unrequited romance and a love seen in “films en noir et blanc”, the Eurovision 2016 representative brings an edgy, avant-garde sound, which melds harmoniously with his dulcet tones.

His musical style has evolved since his “J’ai cherché” days. This is less happy-clappy and more artistic. The track, sung entirely in French, straddles the boundary between classy and contemporary, delivering a chef d’œuvre song in a way that only the handsome crooner can.

“États d’Amour” marks the first single from Amir’s upcoming third album, due to be released on October 27.

It’s been a busy year for Amir since representing France at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2016 in Stockholm.

Having achieved the best result for his country since 2002, the Frenchman has toured his second album Au cœur de moi across Europe. One highlight for us? When he took the opportunity to get intimate with nature.

Back in May, Amir joined forces with American pop folk band OneRepublic for a French remix of their hit single “No Vacancy” which has amassed over one million views on Youtube.

His love affair with Eurovision has also continued a year after participating. He commented for the French broadcast of the Eurovision Song Contest in Kyiv and threw his support behind French representative and Eurovision’s Next Top Model winner Alma.

With so much on his plate including a new single, an upcoming album, touring commitments and “Eurovision d’Amour”, it’s undoubtedly going to be another busy year for Amir.

I really like Amir as a person but unfortunately his songs are all the same. If it wasn’t for his personality and charm (and Eurovision)he would have been forgotten a long time ago….

I really like it. It sounds like it came right out of the sessions for his last album, though, rather than the start of another chapter.
