Last week SunStroke Project serenaded the 65 women vying for the title of Miss Supranational. And last night it was time to celebrate chiseled jawlines and washboard abs as the men of the Mister Supranational Contest presented their packages to the world, accompanied by the ultra-androgynous Michal Szpak.
Performing in front of 36 of the world’s most handsome men and a packed-out crowd in Krynica-Zdrój in Poland, the Eurovision 2016 entrant brought his signature style with a medley of his hit songs. With skintight, high-waisted pants and a jacket that could be mistaken as a deconstructed mirror ball, Szpak served up 80s emotion with his Eurovision hit, ‘Color of Your Life’.
Following a quick costume change, Szpak channeled his boho style with a billowing silk shirt, joined on stage with a small orchestra for a pitch-perfect rendition of his single ‘Real Hero’.
The singer looked comfortable and svelte on stage, and could have easily been mistaken for one of the men vying for the title of Mister Supranational 2017.
Szpak completed his medley with a rendition of his latest single, “Don’t Poison Your Heart”.
He stood solo in a spotlight, with a dark and moody backdrop accompanying his dark turtleneck and long black coat.
The upbeat rock song with electronic undertones transformed Szpak into a total rockstar and he owned the stage like it was nobody’s business.
With a focus on finding ‘new talents for the modelling and television industries’, the Mister Supranational Pageant seems like a natural fit for the model-esque Szpak.
The contest includes the traditional swimsuit round, with the men showing off their best dance moves in a street-wear round, as well as handling their hoses in the ‘fireman’ round. Hotter than fire – water can’t cool them down!
The winner of the contest was Mr Venezuela, represented by strapping 28-year old model and industrial production studies student Gabriel Correa.
He answered his final question — What is your favourite food? — with enthusiasm and a cheeky wink and smile, telling the Polish audience that ‘In Poland I’ve been having pork, pork and pork. I like pork. But my country, we have good food, alright?’
The man likes his food — and who can argue with that smile?
Congratulations, @gabrielcorrea.oficial ! You are the new Mister Supranational ??? @czarnypotok@aquacitypoprad @…
Szpak’s performance adds fuel to the fire that he may be planning a return to Eurovision with his new single. Perhaps he may be considering some fireman as backing dancers?
What did you think of Michal Szpak’s performance at the Mister Supranational pageant? Should we see some swimwear, streetwear or firemen in Lisbon? Let us know in the comments below!
