At just 14 she took on the biggest challenge of her young career as Australia’s debutante in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest back in 2015.
Three years later, she’s no longer just our girl, but rather a confident and accomplished woman. Bella Paige has stormed all the way to the grand final of The Voice Australia, wowing the judging panel with strong vocal performances we’ve grown all too familiar with.
With a wealth of experience at JESC and The Voice Kids, the now-16-year-old performed stellar covers of American singers Ke$ha, Ariana Grande and Demi Lovato through the contest, ultimately placing second with her new single “Changing” (which you can listen to on iTunes).
In an interview with The Fix, Bella recently spoke about a potential return to the Eurovision stage, saying it would be “a dream”. My girls, here we go again?
“That would be a dream. I would be grateful for that opportunity. Being on Junior Eurovision was incredible, and to be the first to represent Australia was a true honour. So if I got that opportunity again it would be amazing.”
Bella’s journey on The Voice Australia mirrored her previous experience on The Voice Kids back in 2014, where she also placed runner-up. Long-rumoured potential Eurovision entrant (even by Bella herself) Delta Goodrem, who penned Bella’s JESC track “My Girls”, was a coach in this season of The Voice. Despite their long friendship, Bella decided to team up with coach Kelly Rowland of Destiny Child’s fame.
She ultimately finished second in the contest behind Sam Perry – who himself has a touch of Eurovision about him. Described as a ‘looping artist’, Sam often performed with the vocal looping technology famously used by this year’s Eurovision winner from Israel, Netta Barzilai. Many Australians noticed this similarity – with some calling for Sam to be Australia’s next Eurovision entrant. You can watch a snippet his winner’s performance below:
Sam should be Australia's next Eurovision entry. Let's make it happen. #sam4eurovision #TheVoiceAU? ? @SamPerryMusic

Would you like to see Bella Paige make a return to the Eurovision stage in 2019? Should Sam Perry bring vocal loopers back to Eurovision? Let us know in the comments below!
She has a Macedonian ancestry 🙂
Let’s get a new trend going, fast! 😀 #BellaPaigeForEurovisionSongContest2019
My top 2 from this years ESC came in the top 2, and my top 2 from this years The Voice Australia came in the top 2! 😀
But did Netta use her looper on Eurovision stage? Some say it was not allowed for her. So all the fuss for nothing?
She was supposed to but someone told her that she couldn’t.
She was supposed to use a looper on stage, but she didn’t eventually.
As far as I could understand from Netta’s press conference, the Israeli delegation discovered that it’s technically difficult to sync the live vocal-looping with the song’s recorded playback track, so they decided to have the backing singers mimic the looping effect with Netta during the live show.
I’d love to see her getting to ESC, she’s great 🙂
Sam is talented as well.
He’s not Netta nor is his style of music, but he doesn’t need to be like her, he does him!
Not sure how well another music looper would do at Eurovision only one year after Netta won but who knows? It’s Eurovision after all 😛
I think she needs to improve her vocals a bit more before Eurovision.
I think she’s ready
He’s cute, but he is no Netta.
my mums friends daughter was on the voice this year. she told us that the only reason bella made it to the final was because her manager paid the producers
I highly doubt that. Bella truly deserved to be in the final, she was the strongest female vocalist in the competition. We voted for her every week and I’ve no doubt plenty of other people did the same.
Oh please just stop!
