He’s the German singer who put an end to bottom and near-bottom results for Deutschland. But more importantly for Michael Schulte, he followed his Top 5 performance in Lisbon with a Top 3 position on the German single charts. And today, the new father released a new single titled “Never Let You Down“.
Talking to his followers on Instagram, Schulte said that he was “super excited” to finally share the new song.
Over the summer Michael released a new album titled “Dreamer”, which featured tracks from his previous studio albums along with his Eurovision song “You Let Me Walk Alone”. “Never Let You Down” is his first new release since his Eurovision entry.
It’s about his new role in life as a father and his pledge that he will never let him down and will guide him through life. He’s really taking care of his son and we are here for it! Sonically, it does set a different tone. More up-tempo and with a very catchy chorus, it’s perhaps easier for a broader audience to access. Thoroughly contemporary, the song seems to mix and meld country, folk and pop — all with a subtle choral feel. The rhythm gives it drive and percussion elements give it power. And the lyrics are rather nice as well. “If you need shade I’ll plant a tree, if you need help reach out for me…I’ll never let you down, I’ll always be around.”
Amid all the recent changes in his private life — from marriage to child — Schulte must also cope with an incredibly packed schedule. In November he’ll tour Germany before plunging into another leg of shows in February. And some of them are already sold out…so grab your tickets while you can!

Michael Schulte is great ,he has many great songs.
Love Michael Schulte. This song makes me think again that he blames his father for something that Michael doesn’t want to repeat. Did his father committed suicide? Is it so hard to say yes or no, when he talks about this topic in his art?
