We waited almost a month for song number two. Now, in a matter of days, that figure has doubled to four. Today, Czech Republic’s Lake Malawai entered the fray with “Friend of a Friend”. But is the group your favourite Eurovision 2019 act so far? Can they prevent Spain’s Miki from making it three in a row? Or will Albania’s Jonida Maliqi or France’s Bilal Hassani shake things up?
It’s time to vote!
You can listen to “Friend of a Friend” and watch our interview below. Then vote in our poll. Choose wisely, you can only vote ONE time. And for once you’ve time to mull over your decision! Voting ends on Thursday, 7 February — just ahead of the UK’s You Decide final. Selections in Australia and Montenegro will follow soon after.
We will then relaunch the poll to include the three winners, along with any other entries which may drop in the interim. Depending on the outcome of Sanremo, we might also have an Italian act.
Lake Malawi “Friend of a Friend”
The second ever Eurovision Song CZ came to a relatively low key conclusion on Monday afternoon. During a live press conference it was revealed that Lake Malawi would represent the Czechs with “Friend of a Friend”. The indie trio came joint top with the jury but finished second with the voting public. Will they be able to win over the international televoters come May?
Who is your favourite Eurovision 2019 act so far?
I didn’t think I’d say this but right now SPAIN is my favourite eurovision act (at least for now).
Then FRANCE, ALBANIA,CZECH REPUBLIC.
It’s still early though.
1. Spain
2. Albania
3. Czech Republic
…
99999999. France – Worst french entry in Eurovision history
Agree !
And as always the poll refuses to show up…
For fun I looked up poll from last year when it was just these four contries and the results were same as now: 1. Spain, 2. Albania, 3. France and 4. Czech Republic. And yet in the final they placed quite diferently…
I’m not voting until there’s something to choose from. It’s not US presidential elections! 😛
Wow, the hostility of some Eurovision fans is absolutely bloody ridiculous! Only 4 songs are official so far, there’s plenty more to come! France’s song is actually the one I’ve been playing over in my head out of the four acts so far. Yes, he can improve vocals but there’s a lot going for him and his song. I love how people talk about Bilal being a flop before the competition has really begun. I wish all the acts good luck, remember people, it’s a wonderful song competition, not a chance to abuse performers or imply that whatever you say… Read more »
We just expected better, considering how well Czech Republic and France did last year
I agree that we shouldn’t be vitriolic or mean towards any of the contestants. That said, one can’t expect everyone to like or enjoy a specific song or act (whether its Bilal or anyone else). I also think that those who think that Roi will flop aren’t necessarily coming from a place of pure loathing. Bilal did get through in large part thanks to his massive local fanbase. Nothing wrong with that. He won the right to represent France fairly. However, it’s not out of line to question how well he will do when the international jury weren’t generally over… Read more »
I dont know why u guys already draw conclusions about Bilal. We are not even in May and Eurovision is made of surprises. I should remember you that Eurofans doesnt always think and vote like non eurofan audience who watch the contest. And also you draw conclusions about a song which will be massively revamped so its useless. We have already saw revamp who helped an bad or average song become great at Eurovision . Also Bilal is an eurofan himself so he see the comments of you guys (Hi Bilal). He will revamp the song and a good position… Read more »
1 Albania
2 France
3 Spain
4 Czech Republic. Lake Malawi is very friendly, his music video is original, and this song is easily heard, but doesn’t really stand out. This is the style of music that you hear in the background when you go to a tea shop in a trendy establishment.
Friend of a Friend is more of a sound than an actual song.
What’s with Armenia’s Srbuk?
The song is not selected yet 🙂
So Half A Goddess isn’t the selected song for ESC?
Not that we know…
No, it is not.
1. Spain (7.5)
2. Czech Republic (6.5)
3. Albania (6.5)
4. France (5)
Not a winner so far. Also, is it me or at this point we have fewer entries than other years by the same period? Only 4 entries and we are at end of January…
Fewer selected ones, but a larger number of NF songs released.
France feels…reductive. Well all these 4 are, but France is the most reductive. Bargain bin version of what a contestant should be
1. Spain
2. France
3. Czech Republic
4. Albania
“La Venda” just makes me feel good and with a proper revamp instrumentation wise, I think it could finish higher then most people think.?
1. Spain
2. Albania
3. Czech Republic
4. France
1. Albania 2. Czech Republic 3. Spain 4. France Having followed Eurovision religiously for 40 years now, ever since Johnny Logan won with What’s another Year. I can honestly say I do not remember a year where the first releases have been so weak. I mean come on France and Spain , I mean seriously???? I know there are 38 songs to go but with the level of entries in other National Finals so far revealed, it’s just striking me as a weak field so far. Let’s hope for something mega from Russia Sweden etc to address the balance .… Read more »
So far:
1. Albania
2. Czech Rep.
3. France
4. Spain
It can change though
So far only songs that won’t finish high
France
Spain
Czech Republic
Albania
Don’t like any of the songs, to be honest.
These songs are weak! Deal with it!
Albania > France > Czech >>> the other one
But none of these will be in my top 10 so
You should treat the obsession and mental illness that you have every year with Spain. Only advice 🙂
You shouldn’t reply her. I’ve read her since years and I think it’s obvious she’s a demented person
It’s a man though.
Y’all haven’t sent a decent song since 2015, and your bottom 5 results are further proof of the poor quality of your entries. If only y’all took it as seriously as my country Italy you’d have listenable songs and decent results. 🙂
Yes I want my country to send a dancing ape indeed.. That was a very serious song from Italy they were seriously thinking about it… Lol no offence it was a g song but…
Still spain. Czechia is my least favorite song.
Miki….votez pour lui…..et hatani pour islande
i know that there is only 4 so far and it’s far too early to judge this entire year as there are probably lots of bops to come but…these four seem kind of weak to me
My top 4 (so far):
1) Albania
2) Spain
3) France
4) Czech Republic
Let’s hope the 5th song to be released won’t be my 5th place but higher
My ranking is France- Spain-Czechia-Albania.
My top 4 so far:
1. Spain
2. Czech Republic
3. Albania
4. France
1. Czech Republic
2. Spain
3. Albania
4. France
The top 3 are really decent entries, each unique in their own different way, specially Albania. The same can’t be said about France, tho, but I’ll admit that “Roi” has been somewhat stuck in my head lately, specially its catchy chorus. Sadly, “Friend of a Friend” have kinda filled that spot now while “Roi” still doesn’t convince me at all. I don’t think France will be in the bottom of my list when all songs are released, but right now it’s where it belongs.
Not into ranking so early but I don’t dislike any of the songs yet. Would say that France is possibly the weakest at this point.
It’s a weak year
There are still 38 songs to go, dude.
We’ll get 25 songs in 10 days… I wish it would be more spread out like a few years ago.
1.Spain
2.Albania
3.France
4.Czech Republic
1: Spain
2:Albania
3: Czech Republic
4: France
1 – Spain (Super Fun);
2 – Albania (Beautiful Ballad);
3- Czech Republic (Very Catchy)
4 – France (I hate, the worst one);
Love from Portugal…
1. czechia 2. france 3. spain 4. albania (don’t come for me lmao)
1. Albania
2. France
3. Spain
4. Czech Republic
I’ve decided to switch the position of France and Spain. Got a bit tired of “La Venda”.
1 Czech rep
2 Spain
3 Albania
4 France .. worst French entry since 2014
1. Czechia
2. Albania
3. Spain
4. France
Still an easy choice for me: Albania. Then Spain, France and Czechia. The sad note is that I prefer the 2018’s entries from all these four countries.
What I find actually very fascinating and interesting is the fact that regardless of the poll results, comments pro-Spain and pro-France get heavily down-voted. Whereas comments pro-Albania get up-voted a lot.
Can someone explain this to me?
Maybe because Roi is bad so they disagree with theses tops ?
What about the Spain-related comments?
I don’t know why , imo I prefer La Venda than Tu Cancion
Probably the hype of Spanish and French fans, which sometimes can be annoying.
Shut up
#SpainDouzePoints
Is that a valid reason to downvote someone though? Just because you disagree with them?
Tbh I haven’t seen any pro-spain comments getting heavily downvoted… The pro france ones lately not so much either – I think at a time it was because his fans kept spamming the DE polls (Which are meant to be a representative sample of how wiwiblogg fans would vote).
Well, my comment where I have the Czech Republic at first place just got downvoted. So, who knows?
I can easily call this as the FIRST legit wiwi-poll, since Spain’s and France’s results can be disregarded. Anyone with 2 grams of logic in their brains know they are going to flop painfully, regardless of their super mega hype (looking at you chicos y chicas spamming).
So yeah, it’s in-between Albania and Czechia. I like them both, but Albania still gets my vote.
And this year it isn’t just Spanish fans rigging the poll to their own country. Rest of Europe LOVES La Venda. Maybe you have to be a foreigner to see why it’s so great.
1. Spain is so festive and happy song 2. France 3. Czech Republic 4. Albania
1. Albania
2. France
3. Spain
4. Czech Republic
And besides Albania I really don’t care for the other songs, so I’m looking forward to what’s yet to come.
Australia? LOL.
Ze-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-ro…. Gra-a-a-a-a-a-aaaa-vity.
And it feels like… [ohhh, you get the point]
1. Albania
2. Czech Republic
3. Spain
4. France
Same top lol
Same as mine as well
1. France 😉
2. Czech republic
3. Spain
4. Albania
The songs are pretty listenable and nice, especially Miki’, but i’m waiting for a real BOPs to root for, who its gonna be?
Sweden,Hungary, Italy, Belgium, Finland or maybe Malta and Ukraine, cant wait to find out! :))
1. France (I would prefer seemone)
2. Spain (I would prefer Maria or nadie se salva)
3. Albania ( I would prefer Nene or me forte)
4. Czech republic (I would prefer Barbora)
This song are ok, but meh, the winner is coming…
1- SPAIN
2- ALBANIA
3- FRANCE
4- CZECH REPUBLIC
1.Albania: Mystical and haunting 🙂
2.Spain: I think it will get more power after the revamp. Catchy
3. France: To bland and forgetable. At best 11-15 i think.
4. Czech Republic: Very repititive, will get lost.
4. Czech Republic (7/10) [This is not my type of music. The only part I really enjoy is when he talks about his neighbour right before the chorus. Without that it would be a 6 lmao. Still respect his type and his charisma. Good luck] 3. France (7.8/10) [I like this. Don’t hate it. Don’t love it either. It’s pretty average overall. I don’t like his stage presence at all (please don’t kill me). I like the lyrics and the meaning. Dislike his voice. So yeah I either love or hate aspects of this song, so it’s just average to… Read more »
7/10 for a song you don’t like, 7.8/10 for an “average” song??? You’re really generous man.
I score based on song, voice, originality (style), lyrics meaning and the singer’s charisma on stage. The czech singer has a good voice, decent style and is really charimsatic you know. I really respect that.
Roi has a deep meaning that I can’t ignore and the song is actually good I guess. But still I like all 4 entries I guess so I’m still waiting for some really bad ones. Friend Of A Friend will probably be the only one not on my top 30
Staying loyal with my queen from Albania <3
1.Albania 8.5/10
2.Spain 7.25/10
3.Czechia 5.5/10 (maaaan, True colours would've been a 9/10 at least…)
4.France 5/10
From these 4 songs of course the albanian song is the best . The spanish song is good for a circus show or a carnival show .
Spain is going to win eurovision easily this year (heavy sarcasm)
Sarcasm’s for winners. You clearly suck at it, honey.
