Bilal Jonida Miki Lake Malawi

We waited almost a month for song number two. Now, in a matter of days, that figure has doubled to four. Today, Czech Republic’s Lake Malawai entered the fray with “Friend of a Friend”. But is the group your favourite Eurovision 2019 act so far? Can they prevent Spain’s Miki from making it three in a row? Or will Albania’s Jonida Maliqi or France’s Bilal Hassani shake things up?

It’s time to vote!

You can listen to “Friend of a Friend” and watch our interview below. Then vote in our poll. Choose wisely, you can only vote ONE time. And for once you’ve time to mull over your decision! Voting ends on Thursday, 7 February — just ahead of the UK’s You Decide final. Selections in Australia and Montenegro will follow soon after.

We will then relaunch the poll to include the three winners, along with any other entries which may drop in the interim. Depending on the outcome of Sanremo, we might also have an Italian act.

Lake Malawi “Friend of a Friend”

The second ever Eurovision Song CZ came to a relatively low key conclusion on Monday afternoon. During a live press conference it was revealed that Lake Malawi would represent the Czechs with “Friend of a Friend”. The indie trio came joint top with the jury but finished second with the voting public. Will they be able to win over the international televoters come May?

Who is your favourite Eurovision 2019 act so far?

I didn’t think I’d say this but right now SPAIN is my favourite eurovision act (at least for now).
Then FRANCE, ALBANIA,CZECH REPUBLIC.
It’s still early though.

Wow, the hostility of some Eurovision fans is absolutely bloody ridiculous! Only 4 songs are official so far, there’s plenty more to come! France’s song is actually the one I’ve been playing over in my head out of the four acts so far. Yes, he can improve vocals but there’s a lot going for him and his song. I love how people talk about Bilal being a flop before the competition has really begun. I wish all the acts good luck, remember people, it’s a wonderful song competition, not a chance to abuse performers or imply that whatever you say… Read more »

I agree that we shouldn’t be vitriolic or mean towards any of the contestants. That said, one can’t expect everyone to like or enjoy a specific song or act (whether its Bilal or anyone else). I also think that those who think that Roi will flop aren’t necessarily coming from a place of pure loathing. Bilal did get through in large part thanks to his massive local fanbase. Nothing wrong with that. He won the right to represent France fairly. However, it’s not out of line to question how well he will do when the international jury weren’t generally over… Read more »

I dont know why u guys already draw conclusions about Bilal. We are not even in May and Eurovision is made of surprises. I should remember you that Eurofans doesnt always think and vote like non eurofan audience who watch the contest. And also you draw conclusions about a song which will be massively revamped so its useless. We have already saw revamp who helped an bad or average song become great at Eurovision . Also Bilal is an eurofan himself so he see the comments of you guys (Hi Bilal). He will revamp the song and a good position… Read more »

1 Albania
2 France
3 Spain
4 Czech Republic. Lake Malawi is very friendly, his music video is original, and this song is easily heard, but doesn’t really stand out. This is the style of music that you hear in the background when you go to a tea shop in a trendy establishment.

1. Albania 2. Czech Republic 3. Spain 4. France Having followed Eurovision religiously for 40 years now, ever since Johnny Logan won with What’s another Year. I can honestly say I do not remember a year where the first releases have been so weak. I mean come on France and Spain , I mean seriously???? I know there are 38 songs to go but with the level of entries in other National Finals so far revealed, it’s just striking me as a weak field so far. Let’s hope for something mega from Russia Sweden etc to address the balance .… Read more »

The top 3 are really decent entries, each unique in their own different way, specially Albania. The same can’t be said about France, tho, but I’ll admit that “Roi” has been somewhat stuck in my head lately, specially its catchy chorus. Sadly, “Friend of a Friend” have kinda filled that spot now while “Roi” still doesn’t convince me at all. I don’t think France will be in the bottom of my list when all songs are released, but right now it’s where it belongs.

Tbh I haven’t seen any pro-spain comments getting heavily downvoted… The pro france ones lately not so much either – I think at a time it was because his fans kept spamming the DE polls (Which are meant to be a representative sample of how wiwiblogg fans would vote).

I can easily call this as the FIRST legit wiwi-poll, since Spain’s and France’s results can be disregarded. Anyone with 2 grams of logic in their brains know they are going to flop painfully, regardless of their super mega hype (looking at you chicos y chicas spamming).
So yeah, it’s in-between Albania and Czechia. I like them both, but Albania still gets my vote.

I score based on song, voice, originality (style), lyrics meaning and the singer’s charisma on stage. The czech singer has a good voice, decent style and is really charimsatic you know. I really respect that.
Roi has a deep meaning that I can’t ignore and the song is actually good I guess. But still I like all 4 entries I guess so I’m still waiting for some really bad ones. Friend Of A Friend will probably be the only one not on my top 30
