Back in December Montenegro‘s broadcaster RTCG revealed the five acts who will compete in Montenegro’s national selection for Eurovision 2019, Montevizija. There are some familiar names such as Montenegro’s participant for Eurovision 2009 Andrea Demirović and also Montevizija alums Nina Petković and Ivana Popović-Martinović.
Last year we only got snippets ahead of the show. But today RTCG has released the five competing songs in full.
D-Moll Band – “Ti” (Dejan Božović, Aleksandar Miličić)
Andrea Demirović – “Ja sam ti san” (Michael James Down, Primož Poglajen, Andrea Demirović)
Monika Knezović – “Nepogrješiva” (Vladimir Grajić-Graja, Snežana Vukomanović and Ivan Branisavljević)
Ivana Popović-Martinović – “Nevinost” (Ivana Popović-Martinović, Slavko Milovanović, Vladan Popović-Popa, Marko Milatović)
Nina Petković – “Uzmi ili ostavi” (Nina Petković, Bojan Momčilović and Zoran Radonjić)
Montevizija 2019 will take place on February 9, 2019 at 21:00 CET.

After using internal selection from 2009 to 2017, RTCG brought back a national final to select its artists for Eurovision 2018. Montevizija 2018 involved five competing acts. After the first round of televoting, a superfinal of three was selected. From there, the televote again selected the winner — Vanja Radovanović with “Inje”. The song failed to qualify for the grand final at Eurovision 2018.
What do you think of the songs that are competing in this year’s Montevizija? Who is your favourite? Let us know in the comment section down below!
Generally I think Montenegro has improved. The songs this year sounds more modern and not dated and boring.
I think “Ja sam ti san” and “Nepogrješiva” sound modern and original at the same time which I like. However, “Ja sam ti san” sounds too overproduced. It’s more the music than the actual song.
I also like “Nevinost”, it’s modern but with a balkan identity.
Overall this is a good year for Montenegro. Huge improvement from last year. D-Moll Band – Not bad… It’s a nice smoothing ballad with nice harmonies. I won’t be upset if they win. But this is not a Eurovision stand out, and I doubt it would qualify for the final. Andrea Demirovic – Techno alternative balcanic song. This is very cool and contemporary. I am rooting for her. I am loving the backtrack. Monika Knezovic – This is one of those songs that just passes by… It’s nice and catchy but it doesn’t stick in your memory. It’s a bit… Read more »
Finally some hope for Montenegro to make it to the finals! I love Andrea’s song. I’m humming it the entire day. I hope Montenegro has dignity to choose by quality and send an artist that will kick ass singing live! I can’t wait to see the performance. Go Andrea!!!
If Montenegro has an agenda of making the finals there’s no other option but Andrea. Song is far above all the other competitors but it’s all about politics and who has more friends to vote for them in a small country like that.

JA SAM TI SAN and ANDREA!
It’s just funny to see how easy is to sing and perform all of these songs except Dmoll’s one … it is obvious that they are singing in 5-6 different voices in harmony, I’m sure that they will prepare something incredible in live shows… That guy who sings “I was ready,to give up but” at the end is just amazing … i had goosebumps all over my body … Dmoll you have to win this !! Don’t look back and kill them all!!!
Andrea is winner from Montenegro!
Go ahead girl!
Ivana’s song is cool, but it’s like that we already know that one. Great vocals though.. Monika’s song have cool arrangment in the beggining, but I think that her performance live would be aweful. By the end of song you get expiriance that you know that song for centuries but not in a good way. According to that Andrea is in the lead position because it has cool arrangment and vocals and it has you by the end of the song. D moll’s song is only song where I hear passion and their desire to channel their love further on… Read more »
Pretty average line-up. Montenegro will struggle to qualify again. 1. Nina Petkovi? – “Uzmi ili ostavi” (6.5/10). I kinda like the melody in the chorus and her voice is interesting. IThe song has something, but it needs a revamp. 2. Andrea Demirovi? – “Ja sam ti san” (6.25/10). Didn’t she say her song was dark? I don’t think this is dark enough to call it dark tbh. It sounds dated, more like 2008-2011. I’ve got mixed feelings with the production, it is a bit chaotic and at some points it sounds cheap, at others is on point. 3. Ivana Popovi?-Martinovi?… Read more »
Only Ivana Popovic-Martinovic with “Nevinost”
Modern, Balkan, charming, eurovision-style song.
Other ones are average with no chance for qualification to the final.
Only in Montenegro the worst act can be the contender to win the national final. LOL.
My Top 5
1. Ja Sam Ti San 8/10
2. Nepogrjesiva 6/10
3. Nevinost 5.5/10
4. Uzmi ili ostavi 3/10
5. Ti 2/10
So as for my top among these five proposals: 1) Nina Petkovic. She offers us a superb ballad rock served by her crystalline and mastered voice . The chorus also remains in the lead. And honestly rock, which is sung by a woman, we don’t have much to Eurovision. That could make the difference, in a simple and effective way. 2) Andrea Demirovic. A very interesting proposal. Its title, very modern and electronic doesn’t look like a pre-made product for the contest. It’s super original, and her charismatic personality envelops it with a mysterious atmosphere. To see if this “dark”… Read more »
Andrea is too good for that crappy selection anyway. It’s not even about songs but who has more acquiantance in Montenegro to vote for them and we know how small that country is. Get ready for another disappointment in a Eurovision semi, Montenegrin ppl. I assure you a lot of ppl in Europe will take a cigarette break during your high school number by that D moll. xD
So this D moll is actually a music school or something in Montenegro and these guys are their students and I guess they are getting all the support from their school. Well Andrea is definitely doomed, but so is Montenegro.
Their vocal coach in music school represented Serbia and Montenegro in 2005 with group No Name.
Samo vi glasajte za D-mol i vidjete kako ce nam se smijat cijela europa
D-mol najbolji 🙂
Mrš
Andrea has the best song. I hope she will win, but in Montenegro everything is possible…
Andrea, is that you?
Andrea have good beat and enegrgy, lyrics is something like crimi and that’s going with her but chorus is boring. Three times is going the same boring thing “ja sam ti san, ja sam ti sa-an”. D-mol deserves to win ‘cause only they have real emotion.
D-Moll army is launching a military offensive!!!
D-MOLL
ZA D MOLLLL SVIIIIIIII
Dmoll band ???
UZ D-MOLL SVIM SRCEM
Dmollll!
Najbolji Dmoll!!
D-MOLL BAND
D-MOLL BAND!!!
D-MOLL BAND !!!
Dmoll band!!???
What the hell!? Apparently, that D mol band has a fan base in Montenegro. I think that this will be like Bilal Hassani all over again. God, that song is just super cheesy and dated, it’s like Switzerland 2006. Andrea has to win, but she probably won’t because of some stupid things. Be smart, Montenegrin people that band stands no chance in Eurovision smh.
This is just another boring song. Fortunately I still can simply switch my tv off.
The revamp needed would completely change the song. It’s the weakest in this bunch.
Countries like Albania, Montenegro and NorMac kept on improving their quality over years, yet we still often convince to ourselves that they won’t pass the semifinal. I guess it’s normal seeing their track records aren’t that good, but seeing the Nordic wipeout in 2016, Baltic wipeout in 2014 and 2017, and Caucasian wipeout in 2018, anything is possible. Good luck, Montenegro!
Ex YU plus Albania first wipeout in 2013.
I was convinced that Albania would go thru last year, and I believe they can make it again in Tel-Aviv. North Macedonia always have the staging issue, but many fans kept the faith for Eye Cue, till the rehearsals at least. Montenegro just sent weak entries, but they have something that could work this year.
This “track record effect” doesn’t exist. Switzerlad is struggling because their entries aren’t strong enough to go through.
You do have a point, Jo. We will see who goes to the stage and we hoped they would be good!
Wow andrea’s song is epic. I had super low expectations for Montenegro and this far exceeds them
D MOLL 1 MESTO BEZ KONKURENCIJE. Nicky California ????
What’s up with the hype about D-Mol? I do like the song but ‘Falling in heaven’ is one of the overused phrase in songs, and the music still needs a lot of ‘facelifts’.
Totally agree. And when a country shoots itself in the foot by choosing the most popular contestant rather than the one with the best song, it leaves more chance for other countries to win.
D moll is going to the top! Any other song is ridiculous beside their entry. Montenegro finally have something new! Hope they will get to top 3 in finals. Their best entry after ‘Zauvijek Moja’ , ‘Igranka’ and ‘Adio’.
D moll the best !!!
I don’t even know yet how much I like it, but yeah, so far it’s Andrea. But she’ll have to bring the same attitude to the live performance.
upside down?
The production on Andrea’s entry is really above all the others, it’s adductive and kind of sultry at the same time. It’s probably Montenegro’s best bet to have a chance to qualify to the GF.
bad songs, Andrea’s one is not great but it stands out. it has to get the ticket for Tel Aviv and it probably will.
Please Montenegro send Andrea! What an amazing song, a real banger. The song will be a huge hit all over the ex-Yu countries. I can’t believe that I’m excited about a Montenegro entry again, happend only once with Igranka. #justiceforIgranka
Andrea’s song is the second best song I Heard this season after tous les deux.
Why are you guys saying a country is doomed before the semifinal in may? Have you forgotten all songs from small countries that have qualified over the years that were GOOD. Montenegro is not DOOMED, YET
Love Andrea’s song !!! Not sure if it would qualify in Eurovision, but I think it’s a very good song !
First semifinal looks strong. They won’t qualify anyway. At least they can send something memorable and interesting and that has to be Andrea I think. The others are just boring/outdated, so they will end up being a toilet break for many people if selected.
I’m actually pleasantly surprised by the songs here. None of them are bad at all. There is a clear winner here, though: send Andrea back! It’s quite cool and modern. Just don’t be stupid with the staging and we could finally see Montenegro earn a spot in the final again. (Also, fun fact: Montenegro and San Marino had their first qualifications in the same semi. And I re-checked: Italy didn’t even vote in it, nor did the majority of the former Yugoslav countries. So if they could pull those off without any real neighborly support, who’s to say they can’t… Read more »
Scratch that: NONE of the former Yugoslav countries voted in it. Albania was their only neighborly support.
I’m literally from Croatia and I voted for Andrea. What are you talking about?
No I meant 2014. Croatia had the ability to vote for Montenegro in 2009, but they didn’t qualify. 2014 was Montenegro’s first qualification and you guys didn’t even participate.
Well that just shows these were good songs. But Serbia and Slovenia are going to be a help for Montenegro anyways.
For sure.
Croatia couldn’t vote for Montenegro in 2009. They participated in SF2
Then I don’t know what our buddy here is talking about.
Serbia and Slovenia is in semi with MNE.
Andrea it is. The only song that could qualify and give Montenegro a decent spot. I like the band too.
The rest are just bland Balkan sound..
1.Andrea
2.Ivana
For those who think Andrea’s lyrics are cheap, they’re not. The song is talking about a breakup and how she wants the guy to remember her in his dreams by haunting him non stop.
Montenegro needs to send her <3
So she’s basically Taylor Swift?
AHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHA HIT!
Love from Montenegro ?
Taylor Swift just enters the chat.
