eesti laul semifinal 2

He’s a former star of The Voice Russia, New Wave and more. Uku Suviste is making his return to Estonia’s Eesti Laul this year — and he’s your favourite in tonight’s second semi-final!

We asked y’all back in December who was your favourite in the second semi-final, when all the songs were released. Uku’s “Pretty Little Liar” topped the poll with 22% of the vote, taking 403 votes in total.

After he fell in the semi-finals at his previous Eesti Laul appearance in 2017, it’s looking a little more positive for him this time! And to top it off, Uku released the music video for the song yesterday. Check it out below!

Taking second place in our poll is another Eesti Laul veteran. Grete Paia returns for the third time, having never failed to make it to the final. She challenged Tanja for top spot in 2013, reaching the super-final. Could there be a rematch in the Eesti Laul final this year?

Grete wasn’t too far behind Uku in our poll either. “Kui isegi kaotan” received 304 votes, around 17% of the total.

The top three is rounded out by Around the Sun, with their entry “Follow Me Back”. The young indie-pop group received 211 votes, or 12% of the total amount.

If your results were to predict all six qualifiers, the top three would be joined by Kerli Kivilaan, Kaia Tamm and Lacy Jay. Will Estonia go that direction though?

Eesti Laul 2019: Who should win semi-final 2?

[crowdsignal poll=10186492]

You can watch the second semi-final of Eesti Laul 2019 tonight. Four acts will qualify as a result of the combined jury and televote; two more acts will then qualify from the televote alone. The show starts at 18:00CET on ERR.

Is Uku your favourite from the semi-final? Let us know your thoughts down below in the comments!

I have no idea what they were trying to do with that tiny Jann Pehk’s head, but that one was deliciously weird! It was a very even semifinal.

Despite coming 2nd to last in this poll… Synne Valtri still qualified tonight! her song is so underrated but cheerful.

Thunder and lighting it is getting exciting

Lol lacy jay stayed out . I dont know if this is funny or sad . I mean come on now she didht pass only because she is not from estonia. The same reason margaret last year took a bad place in melodifestivalen. If lacy jay competed to uk national final she would have way more chances of winning .

Actually the fact that she’s not Estonian isn’t the case here. The public there cheered her name loudly, especially when they were about to announce the last qualifier. And seems like the general public liked her too. Unfortunately, Synne snatched the last spot due to her being famous here and has big fanbase.

Well tonight we had varying types of vocals, insane music and insane comedy. 🙂
Very surprising to me, I would send Kadiah to the final with 12 points! She was my honest favourite tonight.
After that… it is quite an even pick between multiple “solid” performances.

If Victor can qualify with that performance, I’m sure vocals won’t be a problem for her.

I didn’t get the creepy hand at the beginning of Greta’s song. Get rid of it!

I guess just because she is American and not Estonian

No. It is hard to explain. There is something “missing” from the song. And now that I have seen her perform the song live, I am even more convinced that there is something missing. Hard to define. Great singer, wrong song.

The presenter could not keep a straight face afterwards. Kaia Tamm really brought actual insane comedy to the performance. I am still giggling!

Loving the insanity so far. 🙂
Kadiah did very well, I thought. That song “Believe” could qualify.

Sissi: Nice choreography! It elevated the song. Great stuff. It felt like a family was singing together. Heartwarming. 🙂

She had her sister on stage with her! 😉 And One backing vocalist who was backing her dad when he won Eurovision in 2001. And his pink shirt as a lucky charm ?

Ohh yes! Full marks to INGA for giving it all on camera: fashion, vocals and dance moves! And all by herself! Bravo

I really hope Kaia Tamm will manage to bring that cat realness and 80’s mood on stage, However, I fear that it might end up being dull and dreadful.

His song is kinda basic and dated. However, since there’s not a big stand-out act this year, he might actually win the whole selection.
