The Eurovision Song Contest 2020 was gearing up to feature some standout acts. And nine of the 41 acts that would have competed this year are collaborating duos or groups.
Back in April we asked who you thought was the best duo or group at this year’s competition.
After counting a grand total of 4,560 votes, we can now reveal the winner…
The Roop are your favourite duo or group of Eurovision 2020
In the end, it was The Roop from Lithuania who took the top spot in this poll. The trio secured 19.58% of the vote for their song “On Fire”, which is 893 votes.
After winning Pabandom iš naujo 2020 earlier this year, The Roop have captured the hearts of many new fans around the globe. They’ve already won our ‘Best Baltic Entry’ and ‘Best Dance Routine’ polls, and the group were also victorious in The Wiwibloggs Scoreboard.
In the Wiwi Jury, Pablo awarded “On Fire” a perfect 10 and added:
“There is literally no way that I can listen to this song without getting a smile on my face. This is perfection. Fun without being mocking, artsy without being pretentious and familiar without being derivative. How do you do fire-desire-higher? Exactly like this. “On Fire” transmits this unabashed joy across three minutes that go by flying. Lithuania has cracked the code, and could have gone extremely far. This is one for the playlist and one for the decade.”
