State broadcaster LTV has revealed the full results of Supernova 2022 and they show that Citi Zeni came out on top with both televoters and the professional jury. The broadcaster also says that the show received a record number of televotes — 206,491. Of these, 50,566 went to the “Eat Your Salad” hitmakers.

North Macedonia had a serious song about climate change in JESC 2021 and it ended on the top half of the scoreboard. It will be interesting to see how Latvia gonna fare in ESC 2022 with “Eat Your Salad”.

Don’t forget that in JESC you cant vote for your own country

What’s sexist about a man pleasuring a woman?
If it would be a man singing about a woman pleasuring him, it could be considered sexist, but in this is the opposite.

I think this song is an embarrassment to Latvia and to the Eurovision franchise. It is not funny, it is juvenile. Now l hesitate to play an Eurovision playlist with family or friends around. I am baffled by how the Latvian broadcaster deemed it suitable, how the Latvian jury and public voted for it, and how it is getting all these streams on Spotify. Have we come to a point where stupidity rules?

No we’ve come to a point where people can take a joke (not you though). If you have the energy to write this comment and be so concerned about something so irrelevant, then you should have enough energy to make a playlist without the song, so you don’t have to hesitate. 🙂

The line about cunninglingus distracts from what is actually a climate change message. I do feel that more people would appreciate the song if the guitarist in red did all the singing, given that his voice sounds better, and the fact that the choruses are better than the verses.

All three Baltics with Eat your salad, Hope and Sentimentai are all number 1 on Spotify in their own countries.
I’m glad for the Baltics and their people are really behind their songs regardless Eurovision.

Are they all actually really vegan?

no, they said in an interview that they aren’t vegan and that the song isn’t about promoting veganism, just a green, eco-friendly, zero-waste lifestyle

lol so basically this is another faux eco-friendly song,

You don’t have to be vegan to save the planet. Just embrace plant-based diet by reducing your meat intake, etc, is enough to have significant effect.

It is more enviornmentally friendly to eat meat from a local butcher than it is to eat produce that was exported from halfway across the planet. It’s also more ethical since in a lot of countries, people working to grow produce and grains are often exploited.

The real eco-friendly thing to do is to eat local food regardless of whether it is meat or veg.

That’s right

Exactly. Eating tofu in Europe is more damaging than eating meat from local farmers, because of the carbon footprints left during producing soy beans and shipping them to Europe. So if you are about the eco life, tofu is not the best choice for you.

However, some people are vegans because of animal cruelty, that’s why they eat tofu and other imported products from the East.

Everyone has a right to choose their own lifestyle and we should not criticize each other for that.

This is the type of song that musically won’t be appreciated by the public but to be fair the production of the song is great.
If it had different lyrics people wouldn’t call it a joke entry.

I dunno, it’s a song that a lot of Eurofans and people on here won’t appreciate, but songs like this probably end up getting high scores from the likes of the UK and Germany where Eurovision is a far less serious affair. That is, if it even makes it out of the semi final of death. Which right now already has Bulgaria and Moldova in it, so there’s a small chance.

Polegend Godgarina

clearly the best choice for eurovision when it already has over 60 million views on tiktok within a month from its release… it’s a catchy song with a serious message, it can do well and i can see the nordic televote eating it up

I’m glad jury ranked Bujans low. This song gives me Iceland 2020 vibes and it is so far one of my favourite songs this year. As I could see fans in most cases either love it or hate it.

This is a warning to those who say that jury won’t buy it.

I may be wrong, but they had a mix of local and internal juries. I suspect there will be some country juries who won’t give points, and some who will be all for it.

It will be probably the same situation as with Eurovision fans – some rank it on top, some on the bottom, barely anyone has them in the middle.
