Malta.
Austria + Slovenia.
Poe Poe Poe, Š?, Š?, Š?, Aeai and crown
I had to vote for 7. Czechia, Latvia, Azerbaijan, Malta, Slovenia, Austria, Australia
Joker Out by far.
Albania, Czechia, Croatia, San Marino, Azerbaijan
Latvia, San Marino, Germany, Croatia, Czech Republic
Forgot Australia
Czech Republic and Australia are my Top 2.
so off topic but i lowkey hope latvia close first half of semi final cuz maybe impression is important? usually the first to begin first half and second half along with closing first hald and second half? i just hope latvia can close first half
Albania is not a group, it’s a freaking crowd lol
Family Band – Kelly Family?
Only Lord of the Lost
Completely off topic, but does anyone have the slightest idea why Georgia’s song disappeared today from Spotify? Am I too hopeless to think that they are reworking the lyrics? Armenia is also finally up on Spotify, and San Marino is the only remaining song to be uploaded (not that I care about the latter).
Ooo, we have a mystery in our midst. How exciting! Reddit has all sorts of theories. Some are saying the song is still available on Spotify in Germany, others are assuming that the lyrics are getting a re-vamp. However, a “source” apparently close to Georgia’s team says that the song will go through no changes whatsoever. But the boring explanation is usually the most accurate, and that is: There was a technical glitch. 🙂
Ah technical glitch… What can I say? Words getting worthless
I may be the only person who sincerely hopes the original lyrics stay.
I can understand why people would be annoyed by the lyrics but I don’t mind them either and wouldn’t really care if the original lyrics stay. I feel like the visuals are already striking and make an impact.
Alright, here’s where I might humiliate myself 🙂 I’m putting a lot of trust in Iru as an artist and songwriter that maybe she doesn’t deserve, but I think the lyrics are actually good. I see enough signposts that I’m willing to go with my gut. I think the imprecision of language is the true subject of the song. “Words getting worthless/love is a wordless [thing]” is the the key here. Iru anticipates the criticism that the song is meaningless, and then she tells you why it’s written the way it is. Love is the thing that is “known… like… Read more »
Hey, no humiliation at all. You’ve found your own interpretation and way to connect to the lyrics and I can appreciate that! And I can see it working this way. The way it could invite us to go beyond words, the fact that the feelings described are hard to put into words and then are meaningless, it makes a lot of sense from your perspective. I’m not a native English speaker so perhaps my perspective would be different, but I really appreciate what you’ve been doing there. I love the song regardless, but thank you for that interpretation, it’s really… Read more »
There are a lot of bands and duos this year, and that’s interesting. My favorites are probably Austria, Latvia, and Czechia. Still, a lot of good songs in this batch. I’d like for Let 3 to qualify too.
Running order coming 2morrow OMG
MAMA KUPILA TRAKTORA SCCCC!!
Sidenote. The running order will be revealed tomorrow. Care to make a final prediction on who will open the whole show? I still say Ireland should, but if the producers have been listening to the song feedback then it probably won’t be.
I’m predicting Malta to open SF1, if not them, Ireland. And Belgium to open SF2, if not them, Iceland.
Belgium would be good for SF2, I can’t see it being Iceland.
I think it’s definitely gonna be Belgium. But Iceland is a song that starts to grow until the chorus and is mostly upbeat, I could see that structure works very well as an opener. And realistically, I don’t see any other song apart from these two opening SF2.
Kind of Laura Tessoro 2016 (but she opened final only) which Gustav will not
Latvia opened in 2013, -after alot of negative feedback?
That was the first year the draw was abolished, with the producers deciding… maybe the thinking was different back then. France opening the final that year was also not what I would have picked.
Wikipedia has had a running order on there for days now, but I suppose that could all just be made up and not the real one lol
That’s just an alphabetical list of countries per each half of the semi.
well, don’t i feel like an idiot xD
i will say though that Ireland and Belgium getting the death spots alphabetically had me fooled xD
The running order will be announced on YouTube tomorrow evening, the EBU said today.
Malta or maybe Portugal for semi 1. Ireland is too bland to open the show but who knows? Israel to close semi 1. Belgium is almost a certainty to open semi 2 and I predict Slovenia to close – their odds crashed suddenly today and they are up to 22nd from 30th place so someone might know something.
Ireland is bland, I just think the lyrics are perfect for the whole theme they’re going for, especially this year.
Fair point although previous years have shown that they seem to care more about the tempo of the songs and the staging, rather than the actual lyrics.
My prediction:
SEMI 1:
SEMI 2:
That all sounds very plausible… let’s see how many are correct this time tomorrow!
I know it’s really boring to point this out, but any act that requires more than 60 seconds to set up usually either goes first or after a mid-interval break. In SF1, it is perhaps possible that Sweden will need one of these slots if it’s bringing its giant hamburger. The only other challenging one to set up for SF1 might be Croatia (group, costumes and props). SF2 is a bit staging-heavy and band-heavy all round, so best of luck to the stage crew with that one.
It’s only a week ago there was an article here about Loreen’s staging maybe not going to Liverpool as it is now, so maybe they still don’t know. Exceptions have been made before, where the hosts pop up before a song to fill in while everything is sorted and in place. For example, Sweden 2015, Sweden 2017, Sweden 2018, and others. Maybe that’s just the final, though.
Actually now that I’m seeing this I’m realising that it makes absolute sense to start the show with Norway. Kick in the show with a banger – they tend to like that.
I think Romania is more likely to go second in the second semi than Iceland is. I’d say either Belgium or Iceland is probably going to open. Australia might close it, but I think Slovenia and Australia would be good options for that too. Sweden is obviously going to be getting a favorable spot in the second half of the first semi. It’ll be one of the last 3 to perform. I will be surprised if anyone other than Ireland performs 2nd. Norway is the most likely opener but Malta could do it too. Portugal could be a fun one… Read more »
Oh! And I also have a fairly good feeling that either Switzerland or the Netherlands is going to end up getting sandwiched between Finland and Sweden towards the end.
SF1
SF2
Maybe i’ll come back to this when the running order is out and see how close I got it right lol
So I am off on quite a few things! Being honest though, I think my predicted version is superior lol
I feel like that running order would severely hinder Netherlands’s chances to qualify. Well, jokes (sorta) aside, that seems like a pretty good running order in general. But I kinda see “My Sister’s Crown” as a great song to close the first semi-final.
Do u rly think 4 bands will be in a row in 1semi ?
Yeah, “we are… United by Music” is certainly Ireland’s song this year. The problem for me is the dreadful look of their video – I really hope that isn’t the live stage look.
They say it’s not!
I think I’mma go with this:
1st half:
1. Norway
2. Ireland
3. Croatia
4. Malta
5. Latvia
6. Portugal
7. Serbia
2nd half:
8. Switzerland
9. Czechia
10. Israel
11. Azerbaijan
12. Finland
13. Netherlands
14. Moldova
15. Sweden
Albania, Australia, Austria, Czechia, and Slovenia all got my vote.
Lord of the Lost, Piqued Jacks, Wild Youth & Let 3 for me! They are the bands in my Top 10.
I know one shouldn’t pay too much attention to the odds now but it’s interesting to see that Slovenia has made a jump on the odds in quite a short time. Somebody suddenly starting to believe they can do quite well?
Sudden Lights and Voyager are the organically-formed “bands” I like best, though on a pure songwriting level, “Who The Hell Is Edgar?” is probably my favorite song.
I don’t much like the busker. I feel its boring and repetitive, and malta can do better. A fun trio with a fun sax has been before and much better. I think it will qualify but other than that it is very forgettable. Booo
Australia, Germany and Czech Republic are in my top 5. But I also like Austria, Slovenia and Malta. So many choices!
Slovenia, Latvia, Malta, Germany, Austria, Czechia. Gosh! This year we’re being spoiled with choice! 😀
Latvia.
Remember when there were so few groups in Eurovision. Such simpler times!
Sound technicians are likely in great demand this year.
A u s t r a l i a
Mark my words, this fandom will realize how awesome Czechia is once their actual staging is revealed. Its the same team as the music video.
The bits of choreography they shared definitely looked interesting.
Austria, Czechia, Malta, Slovenia. Good afternoon. 😀
Forgot LOTL, Germany.
Czechia, Azerbaijan, Austria, Slovenia, Netherlands and Croatia
Austria, Czechia, Germany, and Slovenia
I picked exactly the same haha!
Austria and Slovenia. With Germany close by.
Funny I always have the Austrians in my Top 10 the Germans are around too.
The Germans and their irrelevant kitschy schlager metal are hijacking the poll once again…
I voted Slovenia, Netherlands and Austria
Joker Out. That is all.*
*it isn’t. The Busker should be getting more love.
Germany is doing pretty well in these polls (they’re also Top 5 in the Eurovisionworld one that features all songs) – just German fans finally liking their entry or maybe a potential underdog?
Tbh, I don’t think many people in the casual fandom saw Blind Channel’s success coming either so I’ll see this as hope 😀
I think that Germany will do surprisingly well with the televoting this year. Pretty much along the lines of the televoting results of Hatari/AWS/Blind Channel, which means they are in a good place to finally get a Top 10 result after years. I’m definitely rooting for Lord of the Lost and will most likely vote for Germany in the final.
I’m counting on your vote ?
who the hell is edgar?
There’s a ghost in my body and he is a lyricist…
Sl?ovenia, Netherlands and Ukraine for me…
Gustaph and his hat.
Poe
Joker Out, Mia & Dion, Vesna and Let 3 are the best.
the best among these*
Loreen and the ceiling isn’t a duo option ?
That’s a good band name, maybe we should propose thattoo her (yes, it’s on purpose 😉 )
Austria, Croatia and Slovenia!
My favourites are Teya & Salena and Joker Out, but there are several others which I also really like!
germany malta and san marino
This year is such an amazing year for groups. But my prediction is that a solo artist will win Eurovision this year. 🙂
OFF TOPIC! When can we expect the semifinal running order to be revealed?
Last year it was announced on 29 March!
My prediction is a female solo artist. For a long time, the winner used to be male, female, male, female…. But then Italy changed everything in 2021 and now I’m not sure of anything anymore xD I think that also this year the order will be revealed on March 29 as it is a Wednesday just like last time.
It should be out around 27/28.3 – they said next week so we will see y’ll
Waiting for Wiwi jury be like:
Austria, Slovenia and Czechia are in a league of their own. The rest here are pretty mediocre
Austria, Czechia, Slovenia and Germany for me. They are all in my Top 10. Honourable mention to Latvia, that I wish it qualifies to the final.
Definitely Joker Out for me.
They’re the only non-soloist in my top five so far.
