Last month she joined the Airplay Top 10 in Greece with her Eurovision 2017 single “This Is Love”.

And last week Demy kept the momentum going with the news that Sweden’s Capital Music will promote her track throughout Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Finland, helping it achieve success on prominent radio stations and on Spotify and iTunes.

The label — which also represents Sweden’s Eurovision 2017 star Robin Bengtsson and Melodifestivalen alum Lisa Ajax — announced the news on its Facebook page last Tuesday.

Demy on the MAD Catwalk

Demy, who recently wrapped her final performance in Mamma Mia! the musical, hasn’t had time to dwell on the news.

On April 21 she presented the extended mix of her track during the annual MAD Walk fashion show, which was broadcast on Alpha TV.

Wearing a red dress with a very deep thigh split, she more than held her own with the models who paraded down the catwalk as she belted it out in front of a floral wall.

From 3:10 in the video below you’ll see Demy working it Eurovision’s Next Top Model style as she leaves her small platform and stomps it out to bring the song home.

Having proven her fashion cred, Demy is now busy rehearsing non-stop with legendary stage director Fokas Evangelinos and vocal coach Alex Panayi.

According to the vice president of INFE Greece, Mr. Makis Charalambopoulos, Fokas’ staging will include six people — Demy and five dancers/backing vocalists.

Mr. Charalambopoulos also revealed their names. They are Erasmia Makridi, an actor and singer who has worked in a band and done dubbing for Disney films; Evgenia Liakou, an English teacher who also works as an actor, singer and dancer and has a love of musicals; Markos Gikoumoglou, a dancer and vocalist who performed in the interval of Eurovision 2006 in Athens; Iason Mandilas, a former athlete turned performer who has worked with the likes of Anna Vissi and Ivi Adamou; and Paris Paraskevadis-Planets, a singer/actor known for taking part in the X Factor (2009) and The Voice (2016).

The teasers released above don’t give us much of a clue about what we’ll see in Kyiv. However, given Fokas Evagelinos’ history at Eurovision — he staged Sergey Lazarev, Ani Lorak and Helena Paparizou — the chances are he won’t disappoint.

I have a feeling this will be like Greece 2009. Big expectations but nothing in the end. Although Sakis was a massive favorite to win in 2009 (Norway was #1 and Sakis was in top 3).

Demy is wonderful but the song is not as strong as we were expecting. Shady Lady and even Russia’s 2016 song were better.

Sakis was 7th in the final. I wouldn’t call that “nothing in the end”.

This song has grown on me, and now it is in my top 10! I don’t know why but I can see her wearing a huge dress on stage, and many flowers as well! Also a lot of red like in her video and hot greek dancers. Her performance will be one of the highlights in the final

she can sing!! weird that she insists on lipsyncing in her performances so far tho.

It’s not just her. If you watch every single singer for that catwalk all of them are lip syncing and not singing live. It’s a shame as when you see western artists perform on catwalks, Victoria Secret etc. it’s actually really enjoyable.

Now I’m wondering if Capitol will force Ajax and Bengtsson to throw some promo shoots on their pages for Demy. Would be hilarious.

If the famous song writer failed this year, what else can the staging creator do? The wall, the glass boxes, the same old things of his.

Well, looks like no boxes this year so I won’t be able to roll-eye. They’ve added some layers to this, so now it’s interesting if this summ will pay back.

Even though it will not be a fan favourite like Portugal or Belgium, I can see many people changing their opinions about the greek entry after the rehearsals. The team behind her can create an impressive and professional staging that will elevate the song and highlight Demy’s charisma. One should not also forget that Demy is actually a star in Greece, and one of the most successful and established artists prior to the contest. She has the stage experience many of this year’s artists don’t have, which will also help her achieve a good result.

We had another amazing beautiful girl, the gorgeous Spain’s Edurne in 2015… That didn’t help her fail dramatically. I predict the same thing for Demy. Her song is just not good enough for her voice, for her style or for her vocal abilities… It’s just meh, not good, not bad…. Just meh…

I think it’s all wasted money, because this song will never be a hit. Demy has better material they could promote (*cough* I alithia miazi psema *cough*).

Agreed. Im worried that this song has only gotten votes from 1 of 31 OGAE votes so far. Considering how gay biased the OGAE is and this is usually the type of song that gays tend to love.

I think they will have to nail the staging and pray for a lot of diaspora voting to cover up the fact that this song is clearly not special.

The OGAE vote is irrelevant.

OGAE only votes on the studio version of the song (not the live version), plus the group of people who make-up the OGAE is NOT the same as the voting block for the contest.

I like the song a lot, but it had chart hit potential in 2005, not in 2017. Still, it could do well at the Eurovision, but promoting it for the big market is pointless.

Demy is without doubt the most beautiful creature that’s ever been on the ESC stage. Because of this, I desperately want to find reasons to like the song too, but I can’t. It’s just so meh!
