Lithuania’s Pabandom iš Naujo 2022 is reaching its exciting conclusion. The grand final is moments away and we’ll soon find out who the country will choose as their entrant for Eurovision 2022.

Ahead of the final show, we asked you to vote for your favourites from the eight acts that will battle it out.

In the end, a total of 2,550 votes were cast in this poll. And whilst there are a handful of favourites, one act stood out from the pack…

Monika Liu is a favourite to win Pabandom iš Naujo 2022

The act that has won over our readers the most is Monika Liu. Her song “Sentimentai” was awarded 800 votes, which is 31.37% of the total number cast.

Ever since she took part in the heats, Monika Liu has quickly become a contender to take home the Pabandom iš Naujo 2022 trophy. Standing on spot in a shimmering dress, her charisma has captivated many.

Second place in this poll goes to Lolita Zero. The drag queen is declaring she’s “Not Your Mother”, but many of our readers are still itching to join her drag family. She picked up 558 votes (21.88% of the total).

Taking the final spot on the podium is Rūta Loop. She was the only other act to receive more than 10% of the vote – specifically 17.41% (444 votes). She’s singing “Call me from the Cold”.

Is Monika a shoo-in for victory at Pabandom iš Naujo 2022, or could Lolita and Rūta find enough support on the night to cause an upset? We’ll have to wait and see.

Poll results: Who should win the grand final of Pabandom iš Naujo 2022?

  1. Monika Liu – “Sentimentai”, 800 votes (31.37%)
  2. Lolita Zero – “Not Your Mother”, 558 votes (21.88%)
  3. Rūta Loop – “Call Me from the Cold”, 444 votes (17.41%)
  4. Gebrasy – “Into Your Arms”, 244 votes (9.57%)
  5. Ieva Zasimauskaitė – “I’ll Be There”, 205 votes (8.04%)
  6. Queens of Roses – “Washing Machine”, 124 votes (4.86%)
  7. Augustė Vedrickaitė – “Before You’re 6ft Under”, 108 votes (4.24%)

Total votes: 2,550

Grand Final Voting

The result of the Pabandom iš Naujo 2022 grand final will be determined by a 50/50 split between a professional jury and the televote from people watching at home. The combined votes of the jury and televote will determine the winner, and hence Lithuania’s act for Eurovision 2022 in Turin, Italy.

Lithuania is set to perform in the first half of the first semi-final of Eurovision 2022 on 10 May. Whoever takes up the burden of representing the country will be hoping to earn a consecutive top-ten placement after The Roop took eighth place at Eurovision 2021.

Do you agree with the results? Is Monika Liu your pick to win Pabandom iš Naujo 2022? Let us know all your thoughts in the comments below.

Non Qualifier in a strong line up

I think at this point, we’ve all accepted that Monika Liu is going to win the selection tonight even if we have different favorites. I don’t think there’s a point in expecting a different outcome unless an upset happens. Sentimentai might not be everyone’s first choice, but the sooner we accept it winning here, the better off we’ll be.

“Sentimental” has grown significantly on me in the last 3 weeks, a chillaxing stylistic lounge-pop track presented so wonderfully and Monika Liu has such a classy vintage look (she also looks like a cross between Kris Jenner & Selma Blair)

It feels dead certain she will win tonight unless Lithunians throw her under a bus for Lolita Zero who’ll assure Lithuania a NQ in Turin.

I also really like Ruta, Ieva & Auguste. Strong selection of finalists imo.

Even if the Televotes gives Lolita the 12 points, Monika will still win the jury 12 point and if there’s a tie, the jury vote is the tiebreaker in the selection, Salonica is safe no matter what. I don’t think it would happen though because I think she’ll still captures both Jury and televote 12 points anyway.

If televoters would rank Monika 3rd or lower and jury would rank Lolita 2nd then Lolita would win the final. Which I hope very much.

Monika makes me listen and appreciate. Lolita makes me rave.
I will be happy with either but my vote goes to Monika. It will be interesting to see how this plays out.
For people that think Monika would be a NQ. It’s fine. We don’t have a song this year that is a sure qualifier anyways. Might as well send a tasteful song in our own language and be proud of it. Risky over safe all the way. I just wish Lithuania would do that more often.

That might be the most realistic outcome out of this, but You’ve also qualified when you weren’t expected to. I didn’t think Lithuania was going to survive the bloodbath that was the 2018 1st semifinal, But you did. I think the most optimistic view I have of sentimentai’s chances is being a surprise borderline qualifier, but I think it will all depend on the composition of the first semifinal and where it will ultimately perform in the running order. It could be one of the songs that you completely overlook Prior to the contest, but then in the live show… Read more »

Lithuania is actually on fire, 3 great entries, actually their 3 greatest, all in a row. Acting like she’s already been chosen because tonight is just a procession at this point, she was 53% in the odds last time I checked.

When and if Monika wins, she better not translate her song into English. Lithuanian is a beautiful language and it would make it the first time since their debut that they’ve sung entirely in Lithuanian

Whether sentimentai qualifies or not in May, its greatest contribution Would be bringing linguistic diversity to Eurovision.

There is no hype, some people like the song and the others don’t, like everywhere else.

Fans before Salvador Sobral won: “was that it??”
Yes, that’s it. Pure music.
I don’t understand fans that beg for diversity and then complain when a country sends something that’s not a bop or “yaaas queen” moment.

If you don’t like the song, you don’t like the song. That’s okay. Just don’t be nasty about it.

That could plausibly happen, or it could be a surprise qualifier that you didn’t see coming. Anything can happen.
