In a few hours time, Sweden will know which two artists will proccede straight to the final and which two artists will have to sing again at the Second Chance round. This semi-final is pretty strange: it’s full of pop songs, ballads, reggae, and heavy-metal. If you want to hear all the crazy ahead of the show, you can listen to the studio versions below.

Outtrigger“Echo”

Well, that’s not bad! It’s rock, it’s something different, and it will easily pass through this Deltavling. Even though they’re screaming for a long time and their voices are not clear enough to understand the lyrics, Outrigger may prove to be the winners of the night!

EKO“Red”

This is a typical Eurovision song, the text of which is meaningless. Music like this is endemic at MF, and that’s why EKO have little chance of passing through this show.

Oscar Zia“Yes We Can”

Another typical song for MF. You could substitute Anton Ewald, Eric Saade or any other Swede and you’d have the exact same product. Although the choreography lifts it a bit, “Yes We Can” is doomed to fail, no matter how nice Oscar’s voice is. This song is an injustice to how well he could do with something stronger.

Shirley Clamp“Burning Alive”

“Burning Alive” is a strong ballad that includes a nice chorus. She has an excellent voice, and this should make the Swedes get up from the comfort of their IKEA sofa and vote for her. Well, if we have anything to say about it, that is.

State Of Drama“All We Are”

This could easily be a One Direction song. State Of Drama isn’t used to this style and last year’s song was a lot nicer. It’s a little bit slow, and not as dynamic as it could be. However, their populartity may spare them from the failure they deserve…

CajsaStina Åkerström“En enkel sång”

A country-like ballad for CajsaStina, who will surely appear alone on stage. That’s slow, too slow…I could easily sleep for these 3 minutes.

Ace Wilder“Busy Doin’ Nothin”

This wakes me up. It’s nonsense, but it’s exciting and very pop. It will not pass to the final. But it doesn’t matter: Ace will still have that happy, energetic spirit.

Dr. Alban & Jessica Folcker“Around The World”

Another happy and meaningless entry. This brings summer into the Scandinavium. The rapper, though, is something MF hasn’t seen for a few years. Do you remember Swingfly from 2011? He went straight to the final…

It remains to be seen which of these 8 different artists will win, in a semi final full of surprises. And after then, the After Party!

Ooh looks like Ace Wilder made it! And I’m not surprised – that song is super catchy in spite of her relatively weak live vocals… I’m looking forward to the autotuned studio version!

Is it me or SVT’s web player is ALWAYS messed up when I wanna watch the MF live. There are no problems in the replay, though, later tonight or the other days.

Love: -“Busy Doin’ Nothing” by Ace Wilder – I really love this. Her voice sounds great and the song has such a nice tempo. I wish I got to follow this lifestyle 😛 but I’m impressed she could do this, especially in Sweden where everything’s so expensive 😛 Like: -“Red” by EKO – This song grew on me. The verses aren’t the strongest, but I really like the chorus. Do I think it’ll qualify for the final? No. Second chance? Maybe. But I do know I like it and that I may of discovered a new artist to listen to.… Read more »
