At Eurovision 2010, Safura Alizade sang about heartache and love gone wrong. Thankfully the Azerbaijani singer lives a much happier reality. She and her husband Farhad Aliyev, the son of Azerbaijan’s Minister of Industry and Energy, have just had a baby boy!
Safura made the announcement on her Facebook page last week, noting that the babe came into the world on August 10 in Turkey.
It’s been nothing but wedded bliss for Safura since she married Aliyev last summer. She made the decision to leave the stage to focus on growing her family. In April she told 1news.az that she doesn’t need to perform in order to be happy.
“I have a wonderful and loving husband, and I love my family and my home,” she said. “Believe me, to be happy I do not need anything more than the joy of our family.”
Safura and Farhad, congratulations!
Are you nuts? Safura was married at the goddamn age of 20? That’s too young!!! 🙁
Congratulations Safura. One of my favorite singers from Azerbaijan. You’re going to be a great mother, who knows one day son might follow in mothers footsteps.
love you SOF?
Looks like we won’t see her in Eurovision anytime soon. She had a “fulfilling” career nonetheless
Congrats! Wow she’s so young and already married with a baby. Well best wishes to her family life.
Happy baby day, Safura.
And happy 18th birthday, Marcus. You’re legal!
