On January 22 we knew twelve of the artists confirmed for Eurovision 2017, but only three of them had revealed their songs: Albania, Belarus and Georgia. The music is starting to play so we just have to ask: Of the three artists with songs, who is your favourite Eurovision 2017 act so far?
Albania — Lindita Halimi, “Botë”
Lindita was your favourite act in our last poll, beating out nine other acts (none of whom had yet shared their songs). Will she be able to top the polls again this time with “Botë”?
We already know the song will be revamped into English for Kyiv. In our interview with her, Lindita even teased a part of the English version of the song and promised that it will be more modern and Eurovision-friendly.
Belarus — NAVI, “Historyja majho zyccia”
Belarusian folk-band NAVI were selected on January 20 at Eurofest 2017. Whilst they didn’t win the SMS voting, they triumphed with the juries. The live audience in the studio also seemed well on their side too! It seems likely they’ll sing in Belarusian at Eurovision, making it the first time the country’s song will be in their native tongue. We definitely approve.
Georgia — Tako Gachechiladze, “Keep the Faith”
Tako triumphed over 24 other artists at Georgia’s national final. This marks her second selection for Eurovision. She was previously part of Stefane & 3G, the Georgian act that was famously disqualified in 2009 for its politically charged song “We Don’t Wanna Put In”. Fingers crossed and political controversies aside, she should make it to Kyiv this time around.
“Keep the Faith” skirted some controversial lines at the national final. During her performance, the background LED seemed to reference the Russia-Georgia war of 2008. Will we be seeing that in Kyiv too?
Those are your three confirmed acts with songs for now. Now it’s time for y’all to have your say in our poll. You can vote for as many of the three acts as you like. Remember, though, that you can only vote ONCE — so make that vote count!
VOTE: Who is your favourite Eurovision 2017 act so far?
[polldaddy poll=9642914]We’ll be closing the poll shortly before the UK’s You Decide selection on Friday night, when the fourth act and song is set to be selected. Make sure to let us know who you voted for in the comments section below!
1St. Georgia !!
For anyone who didn’t know Albania’s song has been made for Albanian festival where you have to show your voice and lyrics mean a lot, Lindita has prepared another song much different and better than this one for Eurovision, she just needed the pass to represent Albania with song, 2 years ago she had the best song by far but couldn’t win in Albania cause of the way she was dressed and the song that didn’t sont Albanian at all- even though was the best by a mile, this year she did completely opposite made this song to win in Albania… Read more »
My favourite is Georgia ??
That screaming mess from Georgia in first place? This reminds me of 2015, when Nina from Georgia was somehow always winning all the Wiwi polls for no apparent reason… Seriously Georgia, I love your castles and your khachapuri, but there’s no way that song will achieve anything at Eurovision. Stop hijacking the polls! 😀
Obviously georgia. So far lol
That’s a surprising poll result. I thought Eurovision fans didn’t like political songs? Hmmm.
We have yet to hear the ESC winner yet, in my opinion.
Georgia!
So, how does it work with Georgian fans? At the beginning this poll showed Georgia at a distant 3rd and Belarus a strong 1st but suddenly Georgia is winning. This doesn’t usually happen with polls. I also remember Georgia consistently winning the polls in years when the Georgian song was far from best or from succeeding in other polls. So how do you do it? Publish these polls in Georgian ESC forums and call people to vote? It doesn’t really help the song’s ESC chances you know…
i love Belarus, pretty like Albania, but Georgia is really high level.
I’m sure 2017 will be the best year that Georgia ever had on this contest.
Tako goes for top 5 for sure
1. GEORGIA
2. BELARUS
3. ALBANIA
3. Albania – It just doesn’t appeal to me. For me this song is a little bit chaotic and I can’t even remember some seconds of this song. Hopefully they’ll improve it in a revamp, because I can hear that Lindita is a great vocalist. 2. Belarus – Although I thought about putting NAVI on a third position, their song grows on me. It is a good choice to sing in a mother language but still the song is a little bit too JESC for me, especially the “Hey, hey, hayayayayey!” part. Though it is joyful and having so many… Read more »
Love Belarus, and Lindita has amazing vocals. I hope that the revamp will go well! I hope these 2 are an indicator of the quality we can expect this year 🙂 Although I see why Tako’s song has its many fans. For me, it’s very unappealing, I can’t even finish the song. That being said, she is a very talented singer & I’m sure will be a strong competitor.
Georgia is the best…
@fikri: You say that as if Emmelie was ever a favourite of yours … it was a big favourite for the majority of us that is for sure but that’s what happens when music has quality and it’s not a desperate attempt to win at all cost something that characterizes the Russian section of your beloved trinity. Australia will bring the quality that’s for sure … but don’t get your hopes too damn high cause I don’t think they will bring the euro-dance song you probably want (nobody is eternally 15 you see)… and Sweden will bring another “heard this… Read more »
@D Easily Belarus has a weak instrumental and the melody is a mess (senseless), ang Georgia is not a great song, but it’s just better. And I don’t like divas because I’m straight.
This is my Top 3:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GKO-1mXOrjk
1. Belarus
2. Albania
3. Georgia
GEO are soooo far behind the other two, it’s unreal. It’s like they watched Jamala and thought “well this worked last year…so yeah…political ballad.”
Looking forward to hearing my country’s NF songs in an hour on t’BBC
UK’s national selection songs are being premiered on BBC radio 2 in an hour 🙂
None of them!
I really want Georgia to come out on top during the first semi-final. So then it will be Tako Tuesday.
i’m not feeling any of these songs. welp.
2017 edition has been a slow year. remember 2013 when emelie de forest was chosen to represent denmark on late december and she remained the favourite to win right til the final night?
russia, sweden, australia– our eurovision holy trinity! SAVE US FROM THIS MISERY AND SELECT YOUR REPRESENTATIVE NOW!!
1. Belarus
2. Georgia
3. Albania
Georgia Number 1 , The Best singer Tako Gachechiladze <3
1 Belarus
2 Albania
3 Georgia
In my humble opinion I think that the winner of Eurovision 2017 will come from Lithuania. Many of the songs from Eurovizijos could do well in ESC.
I swear the wheeling and dealing with these polls.. Suddenly one song that has been behind another with a few 100 votes passes it, doesnt look quite right to me but ok
I hope the trend of good songs continue, we’re only three songs in but usually at this stage I hate all of them and I’m left wondering “F***, this is gonna be a crap year if it continues like this….” but not this year! My favorite is Belarus and closely followed by Georgia, then Albania (I’m just waiting for the revamp which will be even better).
Navi band all the way! A great, charming, fresh, stand out song! Albania is too dreary and boring and Georgia is another female ballad.
Too soon to have a proper judgement … I want all 42 or 43 songs here to truly cast a fair judgment … this is just a waste of time … everybody’s opinion is going to change as songs start boiling in … so I rather wait for all songs to be here. Then it will make sense to say something. And it’s an Eurovision SONG contest … not an act, or performance, or LED choice, or whatever that requires the TV to be on mute …
@Rhy
Talking about the semi Final draw, do you know when it will take place? Been wondering for quite some time.
For me – at now ALBANIA QUEEN
1. Belarus – A country sending a song in their own language and own musical style deserves to be respected. It’s a little repetitive but very charming song. 2. Georgia – It’s ok, sounds like a Bond theme. It’s very unoriginal but she’s a good singer and it will have big appeal for the audience. 3. Albania – I can’t even hum this a minute after listening. Very forgettable, and a shame that they are turning it into English. More countries should keep with their native languages (or even do what Austria did last year and sing in a non-native… Read more »
All 3 songs really good, although Albania and Georgia are similar, both have amazing vocalists that deserve the Final at this moment, we will see how will the season go on and the Semi-final draw.
1. Belarus
2. Albania
3. Georgia
I also like all 3 songs. What a great start to ESC 2017! I hope we keep the momentum!
I like all 3 songs. But Georgia is the best among them so it gets my vote.
Belarus is not a joke song. It’s happy and they’re having a ball when they perform it. Com on Naviband
Belarus is more of a joke, they chose as for a festival, not for a contest. No chance for semi-finals in my opinion. Albania is pretty good, we didn’t see a screen for the song, it was very simple in their preselection, but in Kiev there could be a totally different image of the song. And Georgia is top class in my opinion, very deep, strong music, emotional,, good voice and very good for a potential great show on stage.
1. georgia. 2 albania. 3 belarus
of course georgia, not because that i’m from gergia but it is really good song in every side

Albania 3rd??!! 🙁 IMO she deserves to be first, though I like how many people are voting and supporting for NAVI.
So far….1) Belarus
2) Albania/Georgia (tie)
Perhaps my view will change once revamps and tweaks are done. Belarus is
the catchiest, liveliest and has most impact of the three. However, once we get Finland (hopefully Emma!) and the UK in this poll next weekend, this will definitely change! 🙂
N1 georgia
Belarus is the only good one so far, they better make top 10! Love it!
These are 3 songs, 40 will follow. So many things will change.
Wait until Poland will choose the act and then we know Poland will win all polls.
Since all 3 songs are good, the current result is quite understandable. However, if suddenly in few hours Georgian entry, as good as it is, gets to triple it’s votes, then we know we have yet another case of usual inflating Caucasus song results. I’d prefer if all the results are real, cause otherwise, what’s the point of having a poll?
NAVI and Lindita are lovely, slight edge to Lindita (the opening slays me every timeeeee)
Tako… yikes. there hasn’t been a good peace ballad since like Bulgaria 2011
Why Albania is 3rd? That is the best one so far!!!
I think that in 2017 will win a song that is fun, without looking like is a joke that does not take ESC seriously. Maybe Montenegro with Slavko, or Finland with Gunther (if chosen), or Moldova with SunStroke Project (if chosen).
@an esc fan – No problem. Yeah, last poll featured all the selected artists. Of course that Lindita won it with ease, cause she is the only one with an actual song. Now that we have more songs to compare, new poll contains only selected songs. It indeed is a bit confusing. Glad I could help.
