Serbia’s return to their Beovizija national final continues to move along quickly. With the Beovizija 2018 final set for February 20, broadcaster RTS has released the 17 participating songs ahead of schedule!
After revealing the acts (and song titles) back in late January, RTS also confirmed the show’s running order last week. Initial plans had been to reveal the songs over time, up to a full release on February 10.
But we’ve been given an early surprise, as RTS confirmed last night the songs would be released today instead.
You can listen to all 17 songs below. Simply click on the link to the song title to be taken to the track:

What do you think of the Beovizija 2018 songs? Do you think that there’s a standout — or even a second winner for Serbia? Let us know all your thoughts in the comments section below!
Rejbass #1. Serbia needs to send this LOL.
“Pod krošnjom bagrema” najljepša pjesma!
“Svatovi” ?e dobro pro?i ako pobijede kao i “Nova Deca”
Svatovi should win! It combines modern progressive-pop production with ethno-folk elements and traditional instrumentation that give Balkan entries their identity. I could see this doing very well in the contest if it were picked. <3
“Maybe we choose a swedish song this year if we have a great one”
It would be a welcome change, even if Swedes usually have good English accent.
“I really like Danijel Pavlovic and Nova Deca. The rest no.”
I like a few songs, those included.
“Switzerland,Denmark,Malta are in the plastic zone”
Denmark hasn’t picked yet.
Overall, good selection from Serbia. There are some really nice songs here and after I listen to them again, I may coment better on each. If anyone wants to know what are they about, I can translate each, as Croatian and Serbian are as similar to each other as British and American English are. Pronunciation is a bit different, sentence construction is slightly different at some examples, but words are over 95% the same.
Looking forward for Williams and Debans reaction 😀
Are we waiting for the finals to see reaction? The songs are released one week ago….
Nova Deca ftw!
Balkanika please!
Balkanika will win, we don’t even have to watch. We knew that even before we heard the songs. Very predictable.
Svatovi should win. It has got the highest ratio of likes to dislikes by far, the best ratio of likes to views and currently is the one with the most likes overall. It has maybe 60% of the views of Nova Deca (which has the highest # of views currently) yet has about 200 more likes.
Also the woman singer has a lovely voice, and the song has a decent/good rhythm, as many of Biber’s songs do.
So… good point Serbia are going in a good direction and are singing in native tongue… bad point there is a terrible selection of songs and some too similar. The only one I could bear to listen to for 3 minutes was Igor… I liked that one the most.
Judging by the comments below, I won’t waste my time listening to these songs. I’ll just wait for the winner.
Good decision, half of these don’t have any ambition to win the high position in this competition ?
Is one of the rules stating you have to write a bad song? This is sooooo bad.
Nema te is actually really nice, until Rambo Amadeus comes in. He totally ruins the whole thing.
Oh, no, his lyrics are hilarious – this crazy combination had me listening to that one song on repeat for quite a while…
Mmh, Euro Neuro was said to be hilarious as well, but if you don’t understand what he says it’s just noise…
I am grateful that we have NF after these years of internal selection. Sanja Ilic is the best so far, but for the first time in 10 years, NF is okay for me.
Here’s my opinion about the songs: – Hajde da igramo sada – just okay – Nema te – I literally cried of laughter when Rambo’s part came, that says enough – Zemlja cuda – Surpsingly I liked this, but Maja won’t win for sure, people from Balkan know why I just said that 😀 – Bar da znam – Um I actually forgot how this goes 2 minutes after the song finished – Ni sunca ni meseca – A little better than the previous one, but the impression is the same – Nova deca – I can definitely see why… Read more »
Oh, I thought I am the only one who like ”Vila”, yes, guilty pleasure 😀
”Zemlja cuda – Surpsingly I liked this, but Maja won’t win for sure, people from Balkan know why I just said that ?” hahahaha, we know for sure that Maja will make scandal if she doesn’t win, lol.
“SVE JE NAMESTENO!” 😀
TA?NO! 😀 😀
mislila sam ”tacno”, ovi fontovi ne rade po srpski 😀
And I thought Romania will have a bad NF. I like Blaknika,Beži od mene and Svatovi
Unlike the others I do appreciate the fact that Serbia is going to send a song with traditional sounds even if many say they don’t listen to this kind of music there anymore. So what? I started watching Eurovision because I ABSOLUTELY LOVED the idea of diversity. I have been following Serbian music for some years and noticed how the modern sound has slowly invaded their music industry. I also appreciate a lot that in Greece they asked the singers ”the lyrics ought to be ‘exclusively’ in Greek and that the entries should preferably have a native sound, too.”.
I couldn’t agree more. One of the things that made me fall in love with Eurovision is the fact that it can show me music that normally I would never be exposed to. No country should be afraid of showing their traditional sounds. Even better if they can mix it with current music and show their personality through it. If even on the national selections we stop listening to those kind of music, where else would we find them?
Especially if you compare it to songs that were on the race, that’s ridiculous.
As an example: it heard that TAMARA MILANOVIC was in ! https://youtu.be/fhvgPbk8D6o
Don’t understand why RTS would settle for such a outdated selection. No one in Balkans have listened to songs like this for at least 15 years. Beyond that there are no good songs at all. All mediocre entries. If they think they can win again they are wrong. They might not even qualify…
I am from Serbia and I don’t like our songs at all.
But if I had to choose one that would be Sanja Ilic & Balkanika.
….or Biber & DJ Niko Bravo. 😉
Saska,Dusan,Danijel and Ivan are also good but a bit boring.
PS. I didn’t choose Maja Nikolic bacause I don’t like her as singer nor as public figure. She’s not the one who should represent Serbia.
There are some really dated songs, but I prefer a selection like this than one like Malta’s, that was super generic and lifeless. Also, being dated is not necessarily being bad. Some retro sounds and traditional vibes are welcome. The songs that stand out for me are indeed “Nova deca” (the intro should be a little shorter, but it can look very good with a good staging) and “Svatovi” (a nice mix of traditional and contemporary). But if they want to take the traditional road, Danijel Pavlovic and Dušan Svilar have lovely balkan ballads. I wanna ad that I loved… Read more »
Sabrina, your comments are really on point. I really enjoy reading them. It is nice to see something objective and diverse as opposed to usual whining ‘this is dated’, ‘we have too many ballads’..etc
You’re very kind Nick 🙂 I’m not even a big ballad lover, but I think a good one from time to time won’t hurt anybody!
I hope that Sanja Ili? i Balkanika will win, they are the best. Also, i like Biber I DJ Niko Bravo, they are nice too. 🙂
Having listened to just about all the songs in this selection, I kinda get why a lot of people here are disappointed, but luckily, I found a few standouts:
1. Danijel Pavlovic – “Ruza subdine”
2. Sanja Ilic & Balkanika – Nova deca
3. Biber & DJ Niko Bravo – Svatovi
I find many of the songs underwhelming, and others I think will sound better when performed live. There’s just not enough diversity and dynamism in the selection, it seems.
Plus points for having entries in non-traditional ESC music genres and going full ethnic for most songs.
I’m so excited the songs came out! I love the fact they turned back to Serbian and there are songs with balkan elements. I always like that in their entries. Real quick on the songs: SevdahBABY: the music is good, but I don’t quite like it. Rambo Amadeus and Beti Dordevic: this is so old-fashioned. Maja Nikolic: that’s a good song. It has a balkan sound I like and the rhythm is fine. Nothing exceptional though. Srdan & Emil: another old-fashioned song. Ivan Kurtic: I like it. It has a balkan sound I like, his voice is really good. The… Read more »
Uhm.. Appearantly there is 1 song which is kind of a good one and that is Biber and DJ Niko Bravo — “Svatovi”. And the rest..??? The rest is not really for the ESC.
MY FAVOURITES IS SVATOVI!!! GO GO GO
I am not a big fan of these songs, but I still prefer them to the sea of absurdness we have witnessed this year (you are a pack of wolves, I will be your astronaut, ..etc).
From Serbia.. Sanja Ilic & Balkanika. I just hope that juries won’t destroy it. Serbian people will vote for this. 😉
After couple of times listening SVATOVI are MY FAVOURITE!! Sashka good too
Winner….Biber and Dj Niko Bravo
Sanja Ilic and Balkanika — “Nova deca” and Biber and DJ Niko Bravo — “Svatovi” are the best songs, probably one of those will go to Lisbon. Its nice to Serbia back with a strong Balkan ethnic number if they choose one of these. Nova Deca is super!
I like Balkanika, Maja and Biber, Danijel is ok also.
Wow, this is probably the strongest selection this year
You are kidding?
Nice trolling. Now go to school, fourth grade is very difficult.
…Rambo Amadeus?
Svatoviiiiiiiiii
Without any doubt, Svatovi is the best song, it would be one of our best entries ever.
After all the hype surrounding Balkanika, I was left a little disappointed. It doesn´t sound bad but it kinda feels like a random background song at a cocktail party. It’s nice I guess.
1.Svatovi
2.Zemlja cuda
3.Nova deca
After listening to all of the songs, there’s only one that I keep coming back to and that’s Nova Deca. This song has some real subtle power and I would argue that it’s one of the only songs of the 2018 national final season that finds me immediately clicking replay as soon as it ends. Nova Deca not only effortlessly fills those three minutes, but seems to warp your perception of time in all the best ways while doing it.
NOVA DECA the best without any ties XD
As a Serb, I’m ashamed of this. The only song here worth of being on the stage is Naša Deca, the rest is not even worth of comments. I can’t even believe how low we’ve fallen in this contest compared to what we used to be. Our entries are only worse year by year and to be honest, I can’t help but think we should withdraw from this for good and stop shaming ourselves
Beovizija is following Albanian FiK steps. I’ve never been a fan of Balcanic traditional music, so I won’t be watching this NF, I think. I mean, it’s good to have some traditional-ethnic music in Eurovision, but most of these songs are bland and dated (not traditional music at all). Wouldn’t be posible to have some songs from this century? Do the Serbian listen to this kind of music? From the 17, these are the songs that appeal the most to me: 1. Biber and DJ Niko Bravo — “Svatovi” 2. Maja Nikolic — “Zemlja cuda” 3. Sanja Ilic and Balkanika… Read more »
I forgot to say I like diversity and I’m tired of Scandinavian pop standards, but both sides are bad. Some NF need more diversity like MESC, FiK or Beovizija itself.
Actually, Albanians are way ahead of us in my opinion. Yes, most FiK songs are old-fashioned but some have that nice retro sound and at least there are some amazingly composed entries every single year. Albania’s mistake is revamping the songs and not. singing in Albanian to make them more modern, which makes them sound mediocre so they stay in the semi final. But this… This is definitely the weakest NF this year. I’m shocked by how amateurish this is. We don’t even deserve to qualify unless we send Naša Deca, which is the only decent entry
“This is definitely the weakest NF this year.” – Nope, that would be Belorussian Eurofest. By far.
Dont worry, nobody in Serbia listens to this kind of music anymore.. But the RTS’s jury is full of old people who still think that 90’ and 00’ songs are still modern..
Ruža sudbine and Nova deca Sound good to me. Sure, the Songs in the Serbian selection don’t follow swedish Standards, but I don’t think they are that bad… It’s just different. And though it’s not my type of Music, I can still appreciate these Songs.
Ah, forgot ”Svatovi”, that song is also alright.
One word: SVATOVI?
The question mark was supposed to be heart emoji lol
Love that song
Finally no Swedish mainstream songs. And the Serbian language – fantastic! Sanja Ilic AMD Balkanika will make it to top 10!!! Go SERBIA
Nova deca, WOW !! That’s some winning vibe 🙂
No winners imo- some songs are of an alright quality most drown out as being boring or seriously outdated. My favourite is Nova Deca by Sanja Ilic and Balkanika. Zato has some potential with a revamp and Sevdah bejbi is an interesting choice. But none are “Falling Too Deep” level.
I am from Serbia but almost all of these songs are so old-fashioned, nobody listens to that kind of music here anymore but i guess my country has yet to realise that the type of songs which are being sent to Eurovision is different now.. Anyway, Balkanika is the best in my opinion….
They did sent one that was not old-fashioned last year but it didn’t mKe the cut by a thread.
Their ballads have fared better, like Oro and Goodbye (Shelter).
A lot of etno songs with soul in the sea of generic songs from other countries. Maja or Balkanika. I prefer Maja’s song!
